LEARN TO DEEP DROP! It's always great to keep your electric reel handy because you never know when the fishing may be slow. The great thing about deep drop fish is that they are ALWAYS biting! It's a great all else fails plan. As long as you have the right spot you can pretty much guarantee some black belly rose fish aka rosies! You may even get lucky and catch golden tilefish.
In this video, we go over exactly what it is you are looking for in order to catch these deep water species. What does it look like on your GPS? What about the sea floor?? Once you've made it to your destination it's time to put it to the test. Rig your chicken rigs with squid or bonito chunks, drop that lead straight to the bottom and wait for the BITES!!

So very interesting to see all the different ways you fish and how you explain what and how you are doing it, equipment needed, bait, etc. Showed my 16 yr old Granddaughter your best fishing compilation and the bloopers also. She loved them and now wants me to charter a trip with you for her and I. She said where they are doing virtual school she could do it from there as long as she had internet. By the way I loved the finger nails polished different colors.

The Regulator 41 GPS stay feature would have been extremely useful here.
Have y'all thought about adding a trolling motor to use for that style and other bottom fishing spots so you can u can just hit spot lock. The new long shaft motors will hold y'all's boat.

How do you wire your electric reel to the boat? Do you change out the alligator clips that normally come on the cord for a plug?
Where did you get your power coed with the yellow plug on it and what box do you plug it into. I have the same reel and would like to wire the boat for it instead of using pigtail and battery. Thanks great video

Hi - I am actually in the market for an electric reel setup. Can you share more info on whether your electric reel motor "burn-out" was a quality issue with your reel or (unfortunate if so) a "use-case" error? These things are expensive, and I definitely DON'T want to spend money on a reel who's motor will "burn out"! Can you make a professional recommendation on whether a Daiwa Tanacom 1000/1200 series - Daiwa 500/800MJ series - or Shimano Beastmaster 9000A would be better? I would like to do a mix of deep-dropping and/or slow-pitch jigging (in shallower water +-300ft?) with the same electric reel (switching between heavy duty/lighter duty rods as necessary). I know it's a big ask, but I'm hoping you can share some wisdom.
Have you used the same technique in the keys? What is your hookup ratio and does it help to have a second hook back on the squid?

Wow you literally showed one of my deep drop spots to thousands of people on RUclips! I mean I’m all about creating content, but showing the gps screen? I’ve been fishing this area for 35 years, it’s no wonder the fishing has gone to crap. Back in the day all of us charter captains kept our lips sealed about these spots, and they flourished. This is the epitome of “selling out” a fishery to gain followers. I hope you think about the consequences of posting videos like this. The person who taught you this fishery certainly didn’t want you to be blowing it up like this. Obviously I can’t stop your generation from “selling out” the fisheries that us old schoolers kept secret for years, but hopefully this comment makes you think long and hard about the content you post. This is why our fisheries are declining more rapidly than ever before. Think about preserving your livelihood of charter fishing. You have a powerful RUclips channel now act responsible!
