Excellent video! I definitely enjoy watching your videos! I am just starting my San Diego Kayak fishing experience. I recently purchased a SATURN FPK 365 inflatable and am ready to start acquiring my fishing gear. Like you, I intend on fishing the local bay/marina scene for spotty and halibut. What would you recommend for a reel/rod combination and line, lure set up? Thank you and I appreciate any/all comments back. Good fishing!

Thanks for watching! I've been curious about those saturns. Let me know how it's going! For rods, I use a 7 ft medium heavy (abu garcia blue max), a 6.5 ft medium (abu garcia black max), 7 ft moderate (abu garcia vengance), and a 6.5 ft moderate-fast (kastking centron lite). For line strength, I usually go with 20lb fluorocarbon leader with 20 to 50lb braid backing. For baits/lures, 3" to 5" swimbaits on jig heads work well in the bay. My overall favorite has to be the 1/4oz hookup baits brown & silver (I've caught dozens of spotted bay bass and halibut on them!). Warbaits makes some high quality jig heads and underspins that I've just started trying out. Good luck out there. Cheers!

What kind of kayak? Looking to getting one but I don’t have the space for a rigid kayak.

I don't have the space for a rigid kayak either which is why I went the inflatable route. I'm on an older model Hobie Mirage i9S. The newer ones have more of a sup board design but I prefer the stability of this sit-in style inflatable. The newer ones are probably faster and have the new and improved pedal drive system.
I really do love the Hobie inflatables. Highly recommend!

Thanks sir, I thought that was an older style hobie. I do like the sit in versions but I guess I may have to get the newer one. Thanks again for the reply🤙
