Flying Economy is quite okay within Australia. Shorter distances and saves coin for the destination. Being a Gold Class member is icing on the cake. It is very pleasant to be able to take advantage of pre-flight catering. All part of the thrill of travel. Thank you for sharing.
@@JaydenWong one of the few countries that offers all that.Adelaide-Melbourne either way is always done by plane in my household,we don't have time to spend half a day on trains and from what I heard about the overland way back in the day it is not a trip i would do.
Just want to say how wonderful your video production is, very informative and perfect for One World fans. Thank you for the great work, keep it up and look forward to more helpful video.
Thank you for watching Rob! To reach gold, you need 700 status credits (only 600 to retain). I fly four times a year from Adelaide to HK (all via east coast cities) and each time I earn 80-110 credits, that around 400 credits. For the rest I need, I mostly earn it from intra-Asian flights with Oneworld airlines
Another great video, Jayden! Thanks for explaining the perks of elite status on Qantas. In the US, elite status is a huge asset as the airlines charge more and more for what used to be routine services.
Thanks so much, Michael! What annoys me the most is that having elite status does not give you baggage allowance on British Airways (with hand baggage only fare). Well, I know it’s hand baggage only fare, but still, BA is not a low cost carrier!
Another great video! This is a terrible reminder of my past "too regular" commute between MEL and ADL. Used to fly this and the SYD sector once a week. Argh!
Hi Jayden, Great to see you flying on Qantas again :) I really enjoyed this video! I look forward to seeing you review the new lounges in Melbourne in the future and I hope that review will happen and be released in the near future. Thank you for this video. Have a nice day!
I went in just last week when I flew Jetstar to Adelaide, but that review will take a while to come out, maybe next week. I have some other flight reports to upload first :D
Hi One world flyer, yes it's definitely worth being a gold flyer, the seat allocation access to lounge , it's great perks, Qantas are good for the domestic product they have , particularly in these low cost carrier times, great review as always so a big thank you , can't wait for your next review, ps I did not vote Emirates on your vote to pick who you fly with on instragram lol I think I voted Cathay which you love !
Thank you Michael :) I think Qantas is doing exceptionally compared to many European carriers when it comes to domestic/short haul flights. And for that voting, I decided Etihad (787, 380 & 330!) because Cathay is too expensive and I’ll be flying Emirates to Thailand anyway 😬
Thank-you for the video demonstrating some of the esoteric advantages of being a "Gold Card" member with Qantas. It is a shame that many of the elite features once held by lounges for business class and upward passengers are now made available to more passengers. Around the turn of the century, airline lounges used to be a most wonderful spot to get away from all the noise in terminals and concourses, and where delicious food was always available. However, would someone please tell me why there is a stuffed pig toy sitting on a deck chair with a cooler near the taxiway at Adelaide @9:36? It seems that welcoming feature escaped everyone's attention. Thank-you again for the video, Jayden. I look forward to viewing your next productions.
Thank you so much for watching! It's also great to read your comment :D Oh yeah that stuffed toy, I never realised until you pointed out! It's rather cute to have it there!
Another good one, however, the biggest complaint most QANTAS FF's have is that they board everyone at the same time! Virgin don't though. Not that it really matters add you all get the att the same time lol
Thanks for watching! It’s because HK is home for Cathay Pacific (oneworld) and many school destinations we go eg. Australia and UK are also home for oneworld airlines ie Qantas, British Airways.
Thank you for watching! I personally don't think it's worth it unless you often fly internationally with long transits and are eligible to use the Qantas lounge. Domestic club lounges are quite average and I'd rather pay for the restaurant food in the terminal :)
Thanks for watching! Normal trip reports most likely, I’ll do something like this again if I get onboard a plane which I’ve reviewed/flown many times :)
Thank you for watching! Yes just 737-800 for MEL to ADL. Very rarely they use A330, maybe a few flights a year when's there's big sports event going on :D
I think you’ve forgotten to talk about how run down the MEL Qantas terminal is. As a normal economy class passenger, without the perks of any lounge, it is dilapidated, run-down and lacks food and shopping options, not to mention the state of the toilets!
Domestic flights are EXPENSIVE & we are treated like second class. Meals now NOT included.Pay extra..... As with most people who lost the past 2 years of travel. We were given vouchers to fly. We then had to add an additional cost of $450 to fly. Then told if we want particular seats( ie) aisle or window we have to pay $$ extra! We were allocated those seats & on both occasions, they changed us to sit in the middle & to add further insult then in different isles😖. We were told that they try to place families together. So everyone else is less important! Really? As a married couple, I found that to be insulting & predigest. Add to that bullshit with a an inflated airfare! We are flying with beautiful Singapore to the U.K rtn for $1400. Wonderful.😊Folks we are ALL paying too much to fly in Australia. 😡
Thank you for watching Mark! How nice if they provide elite frequent flyers with more free food! Like Finnair, they offer Oneworld emerald free drinks from the menu :D

It matters even more if flying internationally with Qantas and/or Oneworld carriers
absolutely!
Wow that Particular Qantas B738 has a Very Dated Cabin Shame on u Qantas at least give it a good upgrade
I agree with you Tim, although Qantas has changed the cushions on those planes, the seat itself is still the same! Thanks for watching :)

Wow, that is annoying. I didn't realize that. Unfortunately, it seems like BA is moving towards being a LCC more each day.
Nice video! The 737 interior looks damn old but legroom space is just fantastic!
Thanks for watching Jeremy! That’s very true 😬

Haha, I can sense that too regular can be boring on this plane 😂

When I flew VH-VXT to Melbourne, there was a USB port between the two seats in front of me :)
Wow lucky... I always get the ones in this video lol

That’s true! Boarding at the same time is not the biggest issue for me, having ineligible passengers in priority lane annoys me the most!
Can anyone answer me why that most of Hong Kong Student Flights reporter like taking one world's Airlines so much.

Although I have lived in Hong Kong for 16 years. I've still not tried Cathay Pacific once.
The default gold card in the title photo is expired (June 2014) 😂
