  • Dan Curtis and Ali MacGraw talk about Jan Michael Vincent when they
made the "Winds of War mini Series". The interview were after 2000 but pre 2006.
Both praised him but were also diplomatic about his problems. You will also see him giving an interview back in 1982 while making the series and
    some behind the scene footage.

"The Winds Of War" is one of the finest productions ever to appear on American television. I remember my family couldn't wait to gather round the TV that winter of 1983 to watch The Winds of War, especially my father who was a veteran of WWII. I was sorry that both Ali MacGraw and Jan-Michael Vincent were replaced in the sequel "War and Remembrance".

Ali MacGraw was getting too old for the role when they started War and Remembrance in 87.
Same for Jan Michael Vincent. He was busy on the TV series Air Wolf anyway and sadly his addiction started to Spiral out of control.

JMV was so big back in the 70's and 80's - so handsome. RIP.

🎉 Dear Ali, I liked, yes, I can say loved, Jan so much.
I adored him so much, that I was feeling his death.
On February 10th, 2019 I was looking out of the window. Suddenly my eyes looked up to heaven and I had the input that Jan is dead.
For weeks later I had to read in the newspapet that he really had died on this day.
    Best wishes, Jana 🎉

To me, Jan was rather dull as an actor. He just seemed ...wooden...unnatural.

I remember reading an interview years ago with someone who worked with him and they said he was almost ashamed of being an actor....almost like he kind of fell into it and didn't see it as a particularly honorable way to make a living....whether that was true or they were just projecting something onto him, it made sense to me in looking at his film and TV work. Couple that with the fact that in probably 80% of his work he was probably hungover from raging alcoholism and it would probably have that effect. Sadly, it got even worse into the late '80s/early '90s and you'd see him pop up in stuff where he was clearly inebriated in front of the camera.
