A great video with a TON of good gift ideas! So many, in fact, that I'm amazed you published this as a single video - it easily could have been two, possibly three, shorter videos. You outdid yourself - some projects have 3D printer files too! Thank you very much.
I remember watching your early videos and you worked from a humble shop producing great work. Your now shop is just stunning, and you still produce great work. Brilliant, really happy for you.
When making that third trivet I saw the fanciest stop block on you're miter saw that I've ever seen ( around 11:44 ). I can build almost anything from a plan but people like Tamar's creativity never ceases to amaze and impress me.
I love how with a shop full of expensive tools , she is by no means a tool snob and has no problem highlighting and promoting more affordable options that are capable of doing the job! Kudos Also the projects and video are great but her content always is.
While I love that her shop has expanded, it's bittersweet to see my favorite you tubers outgrow my tools/skills. My priorities don't allow me to grow WITH them.
Great detective work on the trivet assembly techniques, I love the way you've explained all this. And then you've made great gifts (and one personal keeper too!) so thats another bonus!
This young lady is an absolute genius. In addition, she is articulate, eloquent and makes light work of explaining even the most complex principles and processes. Happily, I am of an age now where I no longer work. But I can say, hand on heart, that had cirumstances arisen when I did work, I would have begged her, quite shamelessly, to work with me in a heartbeat. Because I also believe she is an unparalleled problem solver so it would be entirely feasible to show her a job, explain what needs to be done then go about doing other stuff confident in her ability to shoulder the responsibilty and do a great job of things. Juss Sayin' 😁
@@ilookafterthewater601 l agree. I too am retired, doing what l love the most, working in my workshop making items out of wood. Like Tamar, l build them to last a lifetime. This is what l like about her projects, she puts pride into her work.
@@luciflash Okay, I guess my definition of a scrap is more like a piece of wood that I couldn't buy from a lumber store for more than $50. But maybe I'm just poor.😅
this is the first time I ran across your videos... I really like the way you approach a project... thanks for sharing, I am looking forward to seeing more. I am sharing this with others, who I know, will appreciate all the valuable information. Thanks again for sharing
I do not know if this is true, but I will admit that these people are seemingly disappearing from RUclips. Tamar's edge on the few others that are good WW is her ability to explain things. First glance when this one popped up was to skip. However her techniques and explaining is worth it even if you did not want to make these items.
These are all wonderful, creative, unique gift ideas. I could easily gift each of them to close family and friends. Thank you. I already watched this video at least a dozen times trying to figure out if I was going to do the Dowel Bread Board or the Salt & Pepper Napkin Holder. Reduced playback speed to 0.95 trying to get the details right, especially on the tray’s edge banding. Deciding I didn’t have time to figure out salt/pepper plugs this year after purchasing the 4” Forstner extension, because at some point I’ll still do them. I’m going to cut full scale dowel holders, but I might cut them down and scale down the bread board just a pinch.
I love the new version of the bread slicing board. The original project was the first of your videos that I watched, so it's near and dear to my heart. My skills have advanced significantly since then, and I'm going to make a few of these as gifts. Thanks so much for this video!
Love it, T! You are an absolute boss! I've been watching for years and your capabilities as well as your skills and design ideas are second to none! FWIW, I made some salt & pepper shakers a while back and used "finger pulls" that are made for pocket doors or sliding cabinet doors. They are usually readily available at Rockler as well as big box stores and they come in different metals. Great video and very inspiring!
I'm always so amazed and impressed with your math knowledge and problem solving skills!!! You seem to enjoy figuring out challenging angles and such. I learned another use for my 6-in-1 jig I got from you too. It is worth it's weight in gold! These are all unique gifts or great projects to keep for yourself. Thanks for sharing Tamar!
I've been using those drills from Walmart for at least 10 years, and I'm a pro woodworker. I got tired of paying for over priced name brand drills and batteries and having problems finding new batteries after a couple of years. My woodworking buddies laughed at me and say, you're got Lie Nielson hand planes and saws and drills from Walmart. I told them well, maybe one of the reasons I can afford Lie Nielson is not over paying for name brand drills. Excellent projects you have there. Thanks for sharing.
Hi again, Tamar. I look forward to this video every year. Thanks so much for the great ideas. I like how creative you are with routers. I really need to use mine more often.
You never stop amazing us with your talent. I have been watching you since almost the beginning of your channel and it is always such a joy when one of your videos pops up!! Everything turned out great but I love the star -- God Bless Israel!!
Another amazing video! I love the 3D joinery, and the way you solve problems midway into a project. This is inspiring me to do something with the ton of hardwood scraps I have out in my garage.
Awesome! The pull out tray for the bread cutting is what I have planned for the base of a bread box i hope to build when I get around to it. Great gift ideas, Tamar!
great video. I especially like the tray at the end. It is nice to do projects that don't require any measuring or fine cutting. YOu just make it till it pleases your eyes.
Tamar, I truly LOVE your work and your growth as a woodworker AND a videographer has leapt dramatically over the last two years. Did I mention design skills? Well that seems to have always been there - it just reveals itself more and more with each project. Now, about using a Laser printer to put logos and other designs on things - you could watch people like Sam at Samcraft, the guy at Shop Nation, or maybe even Honey Badger but you do you...
Most beautiful and easiest Challah board ever!! ❤🔥 (also - loved the POV view - was a great way to show the process without having to worry about angles!)
I have a very old breadboard from France that I've been wanting to replace. It was bought 40 years ago at a French equivalent of Walmart. I really like your design. it will be fun to try to make hardwood dowels using the method you showed. I will make two or thee to start. Thank you!
The stacked bowls are very fun but definitely need to be food safe for both - cause in my house, there's going to be chips in the bottom one and salsa in the top one! Great projects! Thanks for the inspirations and direction! Off to the wood bin!
Love the trivets. I made five of the hexagons and two of the second trivet (the popsicle sticks). For the second trivet, I took what seemed like a simpler approach to step two. I took the first two pieces, interlocked them, and placed them on my crosscut sled against the fence (the longer distance between the ends against the fence). Making sure the blade kerf was aligned through the center of the X, I set the blade to one third the width and made multiple passes to clear out the width of the third piece. Then I was able to place the third piece in the cutout and mark it for its cuts. Thanks for the great ideas and inspiration.
Great projects - especially love the Cutting Board with the tray! As we get close to winter, I bet you really appreciate your shop compared to the unheated garage you started in. 👍Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
Thanks. And yes! It was kinda cold the day I was working outside on the last try. And I was reminiscing… I can’t believe I used to work when it was snowing outside!
Hello from Italy. I'm developing woodworking as a hobby and I just wanted to say that I really admire your insane skills together with your creative approach!! I've watched a ton of videos on this platform but enjoy yours the most. Thank you for sharing. On a negative note I am totally jealous of your high end tools 😭🤣
Hey, I’m into those tools to. Been looking for a couple things. Digital calipers and a digital square. Was walking by some tools and there they were. Awesome.
@3x3CustomTamar thanks for the lesson and gift ideas! -I really like the hexagon trivet with the ends still attached for bigger casserole dishes! You could make a set of one with and one without the ends. -If you made multiple cut off trivets and glued them in a stack...hollow out the inside and create a lid...it would be a cookie jar or without a lid, a utensil holder! -The nut tray was cool. You could leave a post in the center of the top bowl, drill 2 holes for the handles of a nut cracker tool. -I really liked the bread board! A 2 tone dowel top would be a cool option! -You could easily slice the trivets horizontally to make inlays! I know the star of David is important to you. How about using it as an inlay in a cutting board or table top? -You mentioned your kids need desks...how about going old school? (Pun intended...lol). When I was a kid we had the desktop attached to the seat and under the seat was a drawer. The way the desktop was attached to the seat back created an arm rest for the writing arm. It was a genius design because the seat was rounded out for the butt and legs, slightly sloped down towards the front for comfort. Some had a "juice groove" on the front edge to hold pencils. You could do a special tray with a cup holder, a writing utensil cup and a phone/tablet holder! - You said you really liked the organic tray but the grinder was really hard on your hands. I totally agree. You can get burr bits for rotary tools that will give you the same affect but easier on the hands. I love watching your channel! You are easy to follow and I love that you give alternative options! You inspire me so I hope you don't mind the suggestions I give...just my way of paying you back with inspiration. I look forward to seeing the desk videos...*please, pretty please *. You mentioned in a previous video you liked sitting in front of the drill press. When you make your drill press stand...make it high enough for a stool underneath! You could turn the stool itself into storage for the drill bits, etc! Make dovetail drawers in between the rungs. That would be unique! Now that I thought about it, I will probably do one for myself.
Love all the builds!! Inset magnets for the salt and pepper shakers would have been nice so they don’t fall out when being moved around with the napkin holder.
I am ABSOLUTELY making two of those bread cutting boards - one for me, and one for my sister as a Christmas gift. I may even use my Glowforge to laser etch some kind of logo or a bread recipe into it.
I did get some ideas for marking tools and inking the waste areas - and these projects would stretch my skills, other than not having any scraps other than pine, lol.
What all these professional woodworkers call 'scrap wood' I need to buy those pieces. It is easy when there are leftovers that your clients have paid for.

I already made 2 trivets few years back based on you 3 way bridle joint. I going to give it a try with the hexagon shape this year (more convenient to use than others I made). Thank you for all these great ideas !
Really beautiful work, Tamar! They look amazing! 😃 The last one you can use for anything! Even to put keys and other stuff near the entrance door! Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
If you put the magnets in the pistachios bowl with the same poles facing each other, it would hold them apart a little, and the top bowl could spin around on the magnetic cushion. Have the top 2” clearance a little deeper to keep it aligned.
Hearing you say “noshing” makes me miss my Nana so much 🥹 it was one of her favorite Yiddish words. These are great ideas. Love the bread board… we’re a family of bagel lovers and this would be perfect! All those sesame and poppie seeds get everywhere 😆
Dust hose tip: make an adjustable bracket with an arm at the top. Attach the hose to the arm so it's above the router and you won't have to keep stopping to untangle the hose. I use mine when cutting juice grooves and mainly when sanding so the hose doesn't hang off the bench and weight is eliminated.
@@RealMe-f6q I don't know how to add a photo here. I replaced my Harbor Freight DC bag with a big filter. I used the arm that held the bag up. I put a hole in a piece of scrap wood for the arm to slide up or down to a desired height. A threaded insert and bolt tighten into the arm to hold it in place. My hose and cords are suspended from the arn and held in place with a loop of zip tie. Woodsmith magazine had built a wooden arm that I copied the idea from using spare parts. They may have plans available.
These are great! I am definitely making some hexagonal trivets this weekend. However, because I'm a huge nerd, I might throw some sort of base underneath them, and give them to my Dungeons and Dragons buddies as dice trays.
Each time you have a new video, i’m sure that i’ll love it.👍 And each time i finish watching the video, no surprise, i loved it.🫶 You are my preferred ❤
I really like the use of the different colors of wood, especially on the star, it turned out so good. For your corner template you made for the napkin holder, you might look for the 3D printed versions I have a pretty good set from 4" down to 1/2" (I think) diameter.
Great projects! Looks like a new direction in your journey could be getting a lathe. Several examples in the video are very well suited for turning. Combining flatwork with turning opens a bunch of creative doors. Could be a new adventure!!

Very good idea, thank you for sharing
My pleasure 😊
Really beautiful work, Tamar! They look amazing! 😃
The last one you can use for anything! Even to put keys and other stuff near the entrance door!
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
For sure! Didn’t even think of that. Great idea!
Tamar------ you rock. I promise you make the most interesting and watchable videos on youtube
So awesome to hear ☺️
Super motivated to try one or all of these thanks for the inspiration!
Awesome. Have fun with them!
Simply marvellous. Very educational. Many thanks
Glad you liked it!
You are amazing! Very usefull video - very nicely done! Thank you!!!
So glad you liked it!
If you put the magnets in the pistachios bowl with the same poles facing each other, it would hold them apart a little, and the top bowl could spin around on the magnetic cushion. Have the top 2” clearance a little deeper to keep it aligned.
That’s a cool idea. Ha
Yes love the last one the most
It’s so fun, that’s my favorite too ☺️☺️
Hearing you say “noshing” makes me miss my Nana so much 🥹 it was one of her favorite Yiddish words. These are great ideas. Love the bread board… we’re a family of bagel lovers and this would be perfect! All those sesame and poppie seeds get everywhere 😆
Chap a little nosh… 😂 I never thought to cut our bagels in this board. Totally going to next time!
Yes!! Haven't even gotten 2 minutes into the video but I already know what my family members are getting for Christmas now! hahahaha
Haha awesome!! Have fun and merry Christmas!
I’ll get to it soon. Shop is coming together slowly but surely…
@3x3CustomTamar I like your new shop
Yes i want to see arm 😂
@@RealMe-f6q I don't know how to add a photo here. I replaced my Harbor Freight DC bag with a big filter. I used the arm that held the bag up. I put a hole in a piece of scrap wood for the arm to slide up or down to a desired height. A threaded insert and bolt tighten into the arm to hold it in place. My hose and cords are suspended from the arn and held in place with a loop of zip tie. Woodsmith magazine had built a wooden arm that I copied the idea from using spare parts. They may have plans available.
The walnut dowel bread board is 🔥!
So glad you like it!
Some great projects! Skill builders for sure!
Glad you liked them!
These are great! I am definitely making some hexagonal trivets this weekend. However, because I'm a huge nerd, I might throw some sort of base underneath them, and give them to my Dungeons and Dragons buddies as dice trays.
Ha! That would be cool
Lots of cool ideas.
Glad you like them!
These are fun projects! You’re so creative! Great job Tamar :)
Thanks so much! 😊
Nice episode! A lot of inspiring ideas for small projects!
Glad you think so!
Tamar you’re so cool I can’t get over it. Every single thing you do I’m just exclaiming “wait what? How does she come up with a trick like that!?”
Haha! ☺️☺️
nice, You're very creative and talented
Thank you so much 😊
Hi Tamar! You are the best of best!!
☺️☺️☺️
Loving your work Tamar. Inspirational! God bless.
Thanks so much! ☺️
Each time you have a new video, i’m sure that i’ll love it.👍
And each time i finish watching the video, no surprise, i loved it.🫶
You are my preferred ❤
So nice to hear ☺️
Very well done. That * trivet was crazy
Thanks! Ha, yeah, it was a lot of fun to figure out
Well, I don't what else to say, but, Wow, just Wow.
Hopefully that’s a good wow. Ha
I really like the use of the different colors of wood, especially on the star, it turned out so good. For your corner template you made for the napkin holder, you might look for the 3D printed versions I have a pretty good set from 4" down to 1/2" (I think) diameter.
Glad you like it! I have been meaning to print those… next project. Ha
very good projects I will try to make the cups for the pistachios and the last one
Have fun!!
Great projects! Looks like a new direction in your journey could be getting a lathe. Several examples in the video are very well suited for turning. Combining flatwork with turning opens a bunch of creative doors. Could be a new adventure!!
Thanks! I definitely want to get a lathe…
Awesome work Tamar!
Thank you! 😊
Brilliant video! Fantastic ideas!
Glad you like them! Thanks!
