In case anyone's on the fence, I can absolute vouch for her templates and plans. I've got 8-10 templates and they're holding up really well. They're great, plexi or wood. The plans are as smooth and easy as you'd expect.
I really loved your serving trays and will order your templates. Also, and I don’t want to sound creepy but I enjoy listening to your voice and how you narrate your videos. Happy Holidays.
Very nice collection of gift ideas. As a belt and suspenders person, I think I'd rig some kind of restraint band for the ipad before I dropped it in the drink! Have a great Christmas, thank you for your content and very pleasant manner. Your way of doing things is practical and achievable. No calipers needed!
Thanks for another great Christmas gifts video Marie! The info on all your sleds and jigs is so helpful and you always give a variety of options on how to make things. Really appreciate it and always enjoy your videos. Happy holidays to you and your loved ones from Arizona!
As always, another great video and very timely. I think the tree would look good on the back of the block - that way you could put a small figurine or LED tea light in front of the tree. If the box lid is thick enough, routing a small recess would help stabilise the tea light.
That was the best 31 and a half minutes I've watched on youtube this year. Very nicely done! I am envious of your spacious workshop, mine has a car in it.
Great projects. I think the tray is my favorite. Only because I love making them. LOL. I do really like the stocking holder as well. Who am I kidding….. I love them all. LOL
Breakfast tray. My daughter and her boyfriend like to serve breakfast, or movie snacks/drinks for each other in bed, but don't have a tray for it, and preferably with 10-inch or 25 cm foldable legs - not fixed to make it easier to store the tray in their tiny apartment when not used. But how to make one? Both a tray and a base that match it? Hardwood is too expensive here, and they don't like dark wood. I wish you all a Merry Christmas ❤ And please, be kind to the homeless and others who can't spend their Christmas with the people they love in a safe and loving environment. A few dollars, a smile and a kind word can make a HUGE difference to many people in difficult situations!!
I guess checkers is slightly different from the Dutch variant called "Dammen". That's on a 10x10 board instead of 8x8 with 4 rows of 5 stones on each side. Very cool ideas in any case!
Jet has come out with a drum sander roughly the same size as a small planer. Matt Outlaw on 731 woodworking tested it and has a video on it. It’s a good little machine.
Nice job on the projects! A couple of thoughts on the box. When I’m cutting the spline slots, I use a flat top grind ripping blade since a blade with a high alternate bevel will show up as fang marks on the box. I usually end up gluing my splines in with CA glue just for time management.
FYI: a checkerboard is 12x12 squares. Of course, you can play on a chess board (8x8), but it's more fun and challenging to play on a true checkerboard. I spent many happy hours playing with my father on a checkerboard he made himself.
I don’t have a table saw, but I do have a router and a miter saw. Could I use router to make the slots for the top and bottom? Could I use the miter saw to make the angle cuts on the frame?
I'm noticing your countersink bit in videos and I found a similar one (Amana) but I have a question: there are no instructions about whether or not I can switch the drill bit to a smaller or larger one to make holes for different sized screws. Is this a one size only drill bit or am I missing something? Thanks!

The holiday season is my favorite time of the year, family, food and DIY Montreal annual gift making video.

Quality of your work and professionalism of the video production is way up there. 💙
Look forward to this video every year! I’ve made a couple of these each year for a few years now!
Amazing! Hope these ideas will inspire you this year.
That putting a thin strip on top of a board to plane it down is a great idea! Thanks.
Hi Marie. I always look forward to your gift project videos. Nice job and really liked how that box came out.

Thanks for the inspiration! Nice projects!
These are some great projects!
Thanks!
I always look forward to seeing your videos
Always love your videos. On the tree I'm going to make it for us but try it at the back and add a tea light in front
This video taught me so much. New sub right here!
Great video! I pre-ordered the plans.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Great job with all of these!

Really nice gifts, Marie. Somehow you missed incorporating one of your favorite features into at least one of them.

Been a while since I pulled out the hexagon sled... Gotta plan something with those soon!
Great video... great ideas... God bless...
Thank you!
As always very creative
the holder is my favorite!
Great ideas!

It is? My Google must be broken 🤷♀️
Beautiful!

👍great video
I love your Box
How are the Irwin forstner bits? I just got the CMT Orange tools Forstners and I LOVE THEM!! A bit more expensive but.. well worth it.
What bandsaw do you have? Resaw capability? Thank you
gracias por existir

Can I ask why you used two different routers? Looking to purchase one that can do it all.
What do you do with your wood chips and sawdust?
What router table insert/plate do you use in this video?
I have the Rockler Pro Lift
😃😃😃😃
Great educational video! That single board of walnut (S4S) would be about $120-$150 U.S. (don’t have a thickness planer). Sigh😢
😮 It was about $40 CAD for the board of rough walnut.
@@DIYMontreal 🤔
I would be tempted to put rubber under the base of the stocking holder, even 4 little rubber bumpers for drawers located at the corners.
LOL iPad next to the water??
I've seen worse 😂 Just DON'T PLUG IT IN!
Why are not people using the Triton router which has the lift built in, for the fraction of the cost????
Magnifique, mais c'est un plateau de jeu d'échec et pas de dame qui lui est de 10 cases par coté.
Sorry, but your videos have way to much ads for any thought for a subscription...
That was your chance to have a bath with *_massive_* amounts of bubbles for modesty!
