Always nice to see a low tier dessie video. I quite like starting from zero and using an arbitrator with light missiles, an armor plate and work my drones up from T1 to faction (not T2) for low tier cruiser abyss as I get some money. In firestorms the plate is especially useful and the weapon disruptor bonus does come in handy if you want to deal with particular enemies and avoid too much damage from one npc at a time. IGN: Oculi Ardentes
While I don't really like to use drone boats in Abyss because of towers, very high NPC aggro to drones and inability to save my butt when I fcked up and lost my drones, Dragoon appeared to be the best ship for me to farm triglavians standing. Also it looks awsome! Nice to see it's getting some love. IGN: Den Rufus
I've not been playing long so just came to see what your build is. I got lost how you activated the drones so will try doing it on my own to see what happens lol
Some love for the firestorm filaments! I could be wrong, but I feel like your video of the T0 Firestorm Punisher fit gave a good boost for that filament price. My Amarr alt is still running that fit for the skilling spree (upgraded with tech 2 guns and tech 2 small cap battery). It is one that I upgraded the account to Omega, so she should be flying the Retribution next! (after I'm done training some trading skills as she will be my eyes on the Amarr market). One of my Caldari alt and new Omega (Suki) is already flying the Hawk in T1 Dark, and my main character use a buffier Hawk in T2 Exotic. My main also run T3 Firestorm in a Gila fit I initially made for Alpha characters. I take that as practice before I upgrade to T4. I also tested a Worm in T1 Firestorm and T1 Gamma, but maybe not recommended for Omega as the price of the hull alone is pretty high (better use an Assault Frigate). o7
A good option I have not tried Mark. Thanks for showing it. I normally use my Gila in T3 and T4 Abyssals or a Corax Missile boat. I love my drones so I may take your fit for a spin. I love the challenge in the abyss though it has cost me a few times... IGN: Airistin Northgate
I love the Dragoon! For my T1, I like fitting an extra plate on there plus some resists in the lows, and some guns in the highs for the pew (rockets and autocannos), my mids look the same. Damage for rigs (doesn't help the drones, but every little bit...) IGN (these days): Ninkasi Kolsch (because who doesn't like beer :P ).
Those high slot choices would work well, but with the Alpha I have to be a bit careful how many weapon systems I train into. I find the missiles translate well onto the Arbitrator too. o7
had some fun in a vexor. but abyss get a bit boring after running them for a few weeks and havent touched them lately. still why do people play alpha when it so cheap to omega the account
I think alpha is a good way for people to play up to a point, but you are never playing the full game as I talked about in that recent vid on the topic. They had to introduce a free to play option as the market went totally that way and sub only would have been a handicap to getting new players in.
Just learning the Abyss myself. That's an interesting fit. Might do better in electrical weather sites? The cap boost will help with the reps and make it a more relaxing adventure. Ign Redderit
Electrical would probably be most relaxed yes, that's why I don't do them very often, everyone else does :) I try to use ships and approaches in my vids that show the other ways of doing things and cover stuff others don't. I would rather do a run that pushes me a little these days than one I just turn up to, or just avoid the meta to show there is no need to stick to it. All those poor hulls getting dusty because they are not the 'right one' makes me sad. You will also learn more if you need to get the most out of your ship than if you are OP. How many Electrical / Gila abyss vids do we need?? Did you see the run I did in a Venture??! :) o7
@@daddex9222 no I haven't seen the Venture video, I'm going to look for it now :) . You're right about the "meta" videos. They are also subjective to the player as well I think. I am not by any standard an expert. I have only gone to T3 Abyss in the past. Hopefully I'm going to settle to T4 relaxed farm. As you say it's a pick up and play part of the game. So I can come home from work and relax with it. Right now I'm T1 farming while training better skills and doing project discovery. But hey..... Abyssal Venture...... Hmm... Sounds fun 😜
@@RobertLutece909 thx, for me it’s about the chill pick up and play aspect. I only intend to go up to T4. I figure it’s a come home from work, after dinner play for an hour. It’s more that than grinding isk value. Guess I will likely end up in a Gila, although I doubt it’s the most inspiring ship to use.
What's your opinion on faction drones vs t2? When I just started, after first wasting money buying t1 drones, I kept buying up faction ones, but now I hardly ever use them.
They can be tankier than T2 drones if aggro on them is an issue. My Navy Vespa's tanked all the aggro on a level 4 mission in a vid. But to be honest i really only use faction drones if i can't use T2.
Great video. I like seeing you different fits and ships. Most just use a handful and that's it. The sites look amazing CCP needs more like this in normal space. IGN: Budzbud
Different spawns have different damage types, so it's best treated as Omni damage when fitting. The resistance reduction from the filament isn't too severe in low tiers, so I wouldn't worry too much. I haven't used this fit in a while so I'm not sure, but there's no reason it shouldn't. Remember though, the abyss can always find a way... To turn you into a firework lol :)
WOW, I've never tried a T1 Destroyer drone boat in even a Tranquil, as I thought they were too underpowered, run a Frigate drone boat a few times. (Random Dood).
I'm doing the Gila in T3 Firestorms and electrical at the moment. I'm doing ok but when I tried the T4, I got Killed because there was to many for me to handle. I think I will keep doing T3 and till I get more experience....... IGN: Lalu Antollare
You are doing better than me. Whats your Gila fit? I just suck at Abyss, or im to miserly to spend the appropriate amount. Gilas arent cheap these days :( In general I do Lvl 4s in a golem, i think i have become somewhat spoiled and forgot how to fly a bit really. Lol. IGN: Jaynestown.
Well done for being sensible and being able to take that loss. The issue with using Gilas is how many run it takes for it to be paid for, and a little more expendable. The abyss will find a way to get you in the end ... YOu won a skin code, it can fund many more experiments!
Every time I don't get through the abyss it takes me a few months before I try again. Even your cool calculating make more ISK than I lose approach doesn't influence me to get straight back in there 😢 ign: Pollekey
Check out the alpha goes to low sec vids... much fun and isk to be had, and you won a skin code, it is worth a lot, over a billion ISK, you can sell it to fund the fun :)

Does this still work in November 2023? Also, would it help if I plugged the Thermal resist more and left Explosive or does Abyssal do omni damage?
