Slick concept Greedy 3D this video prompted me to looking and seeing if anyone else did something like this for the UNIFORMATION GKTWO and sure enough found it on Printables. Thanks !!!
So do you have experience with both the Reflex and the new RS? If so which would you suggest if money is not an option? I"m still wishy washy on this decision and really can't make up my mind :( There are pros and cons to both printers. This issue shown here is one of the big things stopping me from the RS, also the lack of the resin gate. But the bigger build volume is certainly nice and according to HeyGears the RS also has superior thermal management in some way? From HeyGears support: Print Speed: The RS model offers a faster print speed than the Reflex, allowing you to complete your projects more quickly. Resin Compatibility: The Reflex has broader resin compatibility, supporting all our resins, whereas the RS model is limited to only six of our resin types. Thermal Management: The RS has superior heat dissipation and ventilation, which can contribute to better print quality and longer printer lifespan. Print Volume: The RS provides a larger print volume, ideal for larger projects or higher production demands. Resin Management: The Reflex excels at managing resin levels, ensuring you have accurate tracking and less waste. Heating Functionality: While the Reflex comes with a built-in heating feature, the RS requires the purchase of an additional heated build platform to achieve the same functionality.
The HeyGears RS has this side draining thing. Help Center -> Reflex -> Reflext RS -> 6. Reflex RS Build platform Side Drainer. The drainer model itself is in the Blueprint Studio Part Library.
I wonder if one could design a plate to fit on top of the build plate (I wonder if such a thing would cause issues with sensors)? I'm thinking something angled, where the top remains out of the resin, so the angles encourage the resin to drip off instead of just sitting on that flat surface. I may look at that.
No issues with the extra mass mucking with the suite of sensors the printer has? I was almost thinking you could just make a sort of slightly angled top to go on top of the build plate so that the resin would just naturally slope back off.
Thanks for this! I have water washable PAWW10 resin. Is it strong enough to hold the heavy part, i dont want it to fall and break the screen ? If so, should i print it hollowed or full? Thanks
Wasn't asked, but if you're interested in my opinion ;) I would go for the Gk3 if there ever the consideration to need bigger prints. I canceled my Gk3 order for the RC and regret it. Now I have to live with the lottery of if a resin went work or not. It's a pretty messy printer to handle with flat buildplate and it's open on all sides so smelly resin has an easy way to get out. The advantage of the slicer is pretty irrelevant to how goood Lychee's actual condition is. The only thing would be the print quality... The RS is really sharp - but imo it's doesn't worth the extra money. Everything I saw from the Gk3 so far looks also stunning.
@@pOgOstyle A lot of what the RS costs is in stuff you don't see. Sensors which vary peel forces during a print, variable exposure across the screen to reduce dimensional distortion and cure supports differently to make them easier to remove, detection of foreign objects in the tank that actually works. As unsettling as it is for someone with some resin printing experience to accept what goes on in the slicer "black box" it seem to work, though auto-orientation is rubbish for the type of printing most hobbyists probably do. It also, in my opinion, over supports with auto supports, but then pretty much every slicer's autosupport routine does that. All that said, what one person finds worth the money, another may not. Me? I just want to print stuff with as little fuss as I can manage. The RS ticks that box from what I've seen so fat. I just wish the thing would arrive at my door already.
@@jaym2381 yeah, for that purpose it's great. You can also listen and feel the great quality of the Z axis when it's doing the magic. Guess I'm more frustrated that i don't have the space for both printers - or just don't have the possibility to tweak the exposure settings on the RS in a maybe limited range on own risk. In the end you also get you're fail prints based on how far you wanna push the limits of the support size. That's my testfield at the moment.
But HeyGears DID solve it in the first place? They did it differently, but there is that mount on the front of the vat to place the build plate on to drip. Does it not work?
I love this printer - But for the love of all that is holy - Why did they decide to give you the cheapest, permanently warped spatula with the printer. ROFL

Ah glad the vid helped 😊
Thanks for the info
Any time!

Love your videos! Is there any way of adding some sort of ventilation to the RS?
I'm sure there is ..check the heygears Facebook pages

First
Yes I've seen that and you got close the lid with that Institute so it wasn't an option for me
Hmm i watched that and where is the "resin collector" ? this file from pintables seems better though
@@AntJ91 I found the video just recently looking to get bits and pieces off my FEP. I'm cleaning out my tank. I haven't found it and tried it yet.

Id contact hey gears directly with a question like that to have a look at their strength profiles for the res
WHICH 3D Resin Printer would you prefer, based upon your knowledge and experience:
The Ultracraft Reflex RS?, or
The Uniformation GK3 Ultra?
I'll let you know when the gk-3 ultra arrives lol

🤣🤣🤣
why is all of your equipment caked in resin ?
It's a working man cave....and I'm tight for space...and I'm messy 🤣
