I have 165hz monitor and 6900xt. I can play in high up to maxed settings. Well tbh i dont care if i "only" have 120 fps in some games because i am blind asf and see no difference anymore.
3144x1440 is more or less 15% more demanding than 2560x1440 (1440p) and for instance 4K (3840x2160) is close to being 75% more demnading, so for 3144x1440 UW look for card good in standard 16:9 1440p BTW, I have the same CPU :D
Yeah man, and I think its only going to get worse (RDNA 4/Blackwell are going to be monsters that shit out frames most of the present and future CPUs just cant keep up with). Hopefully AI will alleviate some of these concerns, or maybe the development of proper technology that will allow games to utilize more than just one CPU core.
some games are cpu bound yeah, but CPUs are still very good, but of the time it's the GPU that can be pushed. Ryzen 7000 and Intel 13000 series are very good, new gen gonna be even better amd upping their cores and intel upping their frequencies and cores too, it's gonna be exciting.
OC gets you between 5% to 9% 7900xtx is faster than 7900xt by 20% more or less.. And even if you OC 7900xt to get slightly more.. U also can OC 7900xtx to get more.. In general.. OC 7900xtx trade punches & blows with RTX 4090.. My 7900xtx gets around 7% with medium OC.. & it's 410w Lol (stock is 360w)
Hey guys, I have a 6900 XT I can get $390 in trading credit toward another GPU. Do you think I should just wait till the next gen graphics cards? I can't decide between a 4080 super or a 7900 XTX or like I said should I just wait till the next gen which is coming out beginning of 2025
Update: I decided to buy a rx 6700 xt for the same 800 lev (~400$) as i payed for my old rx 5600 xt. Because the rx 7900 xtx costs 2500 lev (~1250$) and i would have needed a new PSU with it This video makes me lean towards rx 7900 xtx for an upgrade. Currently i have a rx 5600 xt with 1080p 144 monitopr, but i do want to get a 4k monitor Probably will get the gpu first and play with 200% render resolution until i can get the 4k monitor
@@marcodelacruz8598 games seem sharper and more detailed to me. Also taa doesnt blur the games as much. Examples are Red Dead 2 and Jedi Fallen Order. When i run red dead at 1620p(150% rez scale) and Jedi at 4k they both look a lot sharper and have less blur when moving (with motion blur = off) Also i did settle on rx 6700 xt (for the same price as my now old rx 5600 xt) instead of the lot more expensive rx 7900 xtx.
@@captainjimo 6700xt is a highly capable card ready for next gen games at least for 3-4 years. And by then there will be hugely better performing and cheaper cards than 7900xtx. Would be a waste to upgrade imo
Save your money and wait for an RTX 5080 or 8900 XTX. Your performance gains wont be enough to justify the upgrade unless you have a 13900k or 7800X3D or something and NEED to get max FPS

I believe it gave me a good upgrade for the same money (highly doubt that next gen cards will give 3 times performance to match 3 times the money) also, did not need to upgrade power supply Whith this gpu i got about 80% more fps in games where my old rx 5600xt struggled. Red dead 2 1620p high whent from 30-40 to about 50-70fps Remnant 2 1080p medium went from again 30-40 to 50-70fps deep rock galactic when from 60 (in combat) to 100+ fps Gta 5 got double fps from 50fps at 1080p ultra to 100fps
This video helped me realize id be better with my 6900 XT watercooled and wait till the next gen AMD cards. I could upgrade now but i dont need to, but next gen it would be worth it since more frames at 1440p would allow my Xenon Flex to refresh at a higher frame rate.

I mean, it's a pathetic increase... and counting the CU, tells me that unless the rumours are wrong about that... the 7800XT that's announced tomorrow will be significantly slower than the 6800XT.
@datboi4925 keep the 6900 XT. I have a Sapphire Toxic one that includes a radiator and 360. I actually just undervolt the shit out of it and have it stable at 2600-2700, voltage set to 980, fast timing, maxed out memory frequency, and power limit set to -10%. Works like a dream. IMO practically the same as a 6950 XT FPS wise

I was waiting for this. Happy that I bought 7900xt instead of 6900xt. In medium games (2k) 6900xt loses to 7900. In RDR2 and God Of War 6900xt (as all 6000 and 3000 series) is really weak (below 100 FPS).
7900xt pulse saphire which is not OC -> cyberpunk 4k ultra (higher than in video) no rt is 65avg fps ... latest drivers, cpu 7900 + 64gb 4800mhz ddr5 (6000mhz without expo)
If you need games in ultra preset (2k) at 165 Hz, then 7900xtx is your best choice. If you can play at high preset (150+ FPS) or be satisfied with 130 FPS, then 7900xt🤗. 6900xt is actual only at 60 Hz.😑
Makes no sense at all. In some titles it's barley quicker for another £600+ ($750) - It only makes any sense if you only play Nvidia titles with RT on. DLSS also looks like garbage. It's also evident in this video that they're very often CPU bound, even at 1440p.

It's never getting over 60° C air cooled. This card is just incredible 👍 and it's finally that what I've been waiting for so long after the Xbox Series X in comb with my LG OLED C1 with 65 inches. To play with that combo at 4k@120hz and have always over 100 FPS is just a dream came true! Hope you can understand. Ah, and I've sold my RX 6900 XT LC for at least 1000€ so the RTX 4090 was "only" 1200€ to me))

Looks very CPU bound at 1080p and even 1440p in some titles. A 12900k struggling to keep up shows just how fast these modern GPUs are.

Why? Even if you render 200% resolution, you won't be able to see the game in 4k. It's just a waste of GPU resources
