I want to learn Spanish because I’m going to have a baby girl and my in laws only speak Spanish so I know the basics but I need to know it entirely so I can teach her and she won’t lose that connection with her grandparents and she know her culture

      Si se puede?!!
The amazing thing is... your baby will learn from her abuelos. You don’t have to do anything except let them watch her.
As for you... what are the -10 things you would say to them if they spoke English?
      Break it down
      And be gentle with yourself
      One last thing
      PRONOUNCIATION
      English vowels harsh
      Ey-EE EYE-OH-YOU
      Them
      Ah -A-EE OH( short) OO
Ask them to speak only spanish with U
      S L O w L y
Blessings and it’s gunna be fun!!!

Present tense, past tense, continuous (1 form), past particle (1 form), "ir a" and "tener que" is what you will use 90% of the time, which is 15 total forms per verb out of the 64ish forms, that's only 20% of the forms being used 90% of the time.

Bro, I understand narcos is a huge reference to learn Spanish for some foreigners but your gonna see many actors in there that in real life they're not native speakers so I recommend you to see : La reina del flow ( more neutral Spanish ) , and pickpockets in Netflix. I'm from Cali but they say Spanish from Bogota is the best spoken in Colombia. I like Spanish from Medellin because the accent but I think Bogota is better for the reason is a hugeeeeeee city..

I love this brother's videos. He is proof that Americans are able to learn to speak another language well. We can. The problem is that we don't see the necessity because everyone speaks English. In school, especially if you are Black, you are not encouraged to learn to communicate in another language. The foreign language teachers barely speak the language that they have been employed to teach. One tip to learn to speak another language well is, FIRST, learn to speak your own language well. Many American school children are not taught how English function. If you do not know what a noun is in English, how are you expected to understand what it is in another language.

Your videos are sooooo awesome, best tips I've had and I've been learning and loving Spanish for over 10 years and I can not speak fluently. smh But I realize I never fully put the effort in, along with not having ANYONE to converse with in Spanish. I began revisiting the language in 2012 when I met my husband. He is Dominican and his parents, siblings and even my step-daughter do not speak English, and this has motivated me so much to really continue learning. I have a good foundation, can communicate ok, and now I have many people to talk to in Spanish that are now family! With the help of tips like these and all the others from your other videos I will be fluent! #claimingit

OMG!!!!!

You will learn to not do that in time. We all start out that way, but in reality, our Spanish format and English format can look completely different sometimes. It's all a part of the process.

I have long term goals with my Spanish learning. The short term goals are the ones I have trouble setting b/c there is so much to learn. Do you have any ideas for breaking down the long term goals to say weekly or monthly ones?

    •  6 лет назад +4

I sure do have a tip that coul help you. I actually mentioned them in the video. If you find a syllabus onlline, some of them will have day to day plans. find one of those and follow it. Otherwise. the best way would be to follow the work book. If you don't have a grammar workbook, I highly recommend getting one. If you do get one, make sure to get one that has listening activities.

I learned Spanish through "chatting". Hindi too! Since I also speak French, getting into the Spanish language was not very difficult.

Great video! Thanks for the tips. I am definitely having trouble learning Spanish. I took it in high school and I know some basics. My barrier is the verb tenses and memorizing them. And actually going past saying the basic sentences in spanish like quiero aprender español or me gusta bailar.... lol, it's sometimes feels redundant. I understand Spanish more than I can speak which doesn't help when you want to have full conversations. I forget and get nervous. What is the best advice to help with these barriers? Vocabulary and going pass basic sentences.

    •  6 лет назад +4

YOu really just have to study something, and after you study it, apply it as much as you can. The only way to really get better is to converse with others. Make it a daily thing. It's a "use it or lose it situation"
