    You have to admit that it’s pretty deep that Rick acknowledges their abusive relationship. Him saying that the issue wasn’t that Morty messed with the fluid, but that he was so afraid of telling Rick. That hit deep

      What I’ve learned from personal experience: It’s one thing to acknowledge your faults, but it’s something entirely different to confront them. You can give yourself a golden sticker for pointing out your own shortcomings, but the true reward comes from the work and effort you put in to overcome them; which is a lot harder than it sounds.

      I just found that line hilarious because you know everything will go back to how it was and they were just taking a stupid joke really far. What I do find sad is in this episode we find out that fake story in the simulation about Rick's wife and Beth dying isn't so fake. Its pretty confusing considering the series has already jumped universe a few times and cloning is a thing but what we do know is the rick we follows Beth died at a young age.

    • @billfred9411

      @TheClassicTerrariaPlayer It was a real learning experience for rick and they have been doing that a lot with him lately but I think the joke went over your head. Its simply a joke about how Tv series always end up right back where they were at the end of the episode. Its why you hear Morty say "full reset". They were just dragging a joke on to make it seem like rick is suddenly gonna leave his family for crows. They undo everything 5 min into the next episode and everything goes back to how it was.

    • @Nanamowa
      @Nanamowa 3 года назад +152

      He definitely is growing into Ricks shoes. Rick was a intergalactic hero rebel when he was younger, and earlier this same episode Morty was cleaning up the mistakes of his grandfather and was obviously able and willing to come to solutions using Rick's technology. Yeah I'm pretty sure that they figured that out on their own since, you know, everyone around them were dying? The key difference is that they thought THEIR death was the way out since like most Ricks and Mortys do, they thought that their case would be special thanks to Operation Phoenix. Just look at the clone episode. Their death was ultimately a Rick's ultimate flaw: that he underestimates others' intelligence.

    Rick slowly started sounding like Morty when he was going off about his new series starring himself and the two crows. Reminds me when he was falling in between realities, he starts screaming and starts to sound like Morty towards the end of the scream.

    The way I see it, the two of them need distance apart to figure out who they are as individuals.
    Rick needed Morty for emotional stability, for someone around him to be dumb enough to tell how dumb they are and for him to fix everything with a sarcastic and angry quip. If he's going to get back with Morty, it's because he's resolved his need to be always the one in charge.
    Morty doesn't need the emotional stability, he's actually pretty fine on his own. But Rick has always treated him like a sidekick. There's been moments where Morty has shown genuine competence and brilliance muddled under the abuse of Rick, and for him to be with Rick again, he needs to become Rick's equal.
    Prediction: Morty will become smart enough that he can make his own portal gun, and Rick will need Morty's help with it.

    • @samhwwg
      @samhwwg 3 года назад +6

      I would say that Rick has made Morty smarter. Simply by being next to Rick, his decision making and perspective has dramatically been enhanced to a point that no even Beth, a surgeon, can’t even come close to compete. I would say that as abusive as Rick is, he really did teach Morty a whole lot of things. Now is the time for Morty to sit down and let the wisdom cement, while Rick needs to go off on his own to improve himself. The smartest person needs an emotional support, now the emotional support has gotten smarter, the smartest guy has to learn to support his own emotions.

    • @wesleywallace4426
      @wesleywallace4426 3 года назад +1

      Rick and Morty’s relationship may have been abusive but it was also pure in a way. You can’t trust a dog to not pee on your carpet but you can trust it not to read your e-mails. If Rick decides that Morty is his equal then he also needs to acknowledge Morty might have his own ideas, goals, and opinions.
      If Morty tells Rick that he doesn’t want to do something, is Morty just being indecisive or is actually willing to stand his ground even if it means going against Rick?
      Before Rick could’ve just brute force his way past Morty and fix any consequence later like using his Mind-Blowers. But if Rick is equal to Morty then Rick actually needs to communicate, convince, and compromise which isn’t fun/smooth as just letting Rick take control of everything.
