As emotional and deserved as Jerry's last monologue to Morty is, let's not forget they openly admitted they were happy Rick and Morty were gone, and tried to strand Morty and kill Summer when they showed up later.
While it is in a way deserved, I think we also forget Morty is a “special” 14 year old boy. Yeah he’s done some horrible stuff, but the only person who he hangs out with most of the time is RICK. I think Morty needs to be cut a LITTLE slack at least

Also, while having dinner with them, he talked like they were some kind of animals, not humans. And when he came back one last time, he acted like nothing ever happend. I'm reminded of a scene somewhere, where someone comments "Hey that insect won that fight fair and square, don't go trampling on his win" and just think after this episode that it would have been so poetic for jerry to win in one of the few worlds were main rick failed.
I wouldn't say he was winning even if he did survive his encounter with rick prime. As he said himself, he lost everything, his apathy towards everything is just his unhealthy coping mechanism, in a way this is the saddest jerry. Also cool though to see that Jerry pushed to his limits is a strong survivor which isn't what you would think from looking at him.
I always thought it was out of character and pretty weird that Rick would accidentally create a planet of monsters. That he could mess up the science that badly. Seems intentional to me. Like he had an unspoken reason for wanting to switch from that reality and manipulated Marty to go along cause he is, in fact, attached to his Morty.
It likely was intentional because of Rick Prime. As others have mentioned, Rick could've just gotten the cure from the new universe's Rick he went to. It's been established multiple times he can even resurrect the dead or see past events in a room, so there's no excuse why he didn't just get a cure from another Rick and bring it back to their world.
I have a theory on why Rick didn't save Mortys orginal family. Remember that that this is actually Rick Primes family. They're the Prime Smiths. So first of all our Rick may of had some resentment and suspicion of them because of that fact. However I do think he genuinely was trying to be the Rick they needed and was willing to fulfill that role. However, our Rick started to senses that the Prime Smiths had the potential to be just as evil as Rick Prime. After their world is destroyed and becomes the Cronenberged univers we see the Prime Smiths are actually happy to loose Morty. Showing us that they never cared about him. Compared that to when the new Summer finds out her Morty is dead. She actually looked horrified and heartbroken to loose her brother. Yet inspite that she dosen't hesitate to take in this new Morty as her own brother and be his sister. Rick earsed a lot of Morty memories of him being abused by his family, like when Beth didn't hesitate to sacerfice her son when given the choice. Yet Beth is also caring enough to comfort a heartbroken Morty when Planetina leaves him and was even concerned her son was getting into a toxic relationship. This is because they were two different Beths. The one who wanted to sacrifice him was Prime Beth while the one who actually cared for him was the new Beth. Its possible that most of those bad memories of Mortys family doing horrible things to him that Rick wipped out are actually the Prime Smiths showimg their true colors. Which is another reason why our Rick wanted to take him on adventures. We know he's not like the other Ricks who dont care for their Mortys and are just using them. Our Rick was originally trying to give our Morty a break from his abusive Prime family, which is also another reason why Summer wasn't originally being included. Even when Morty is reunited with the Prime Smiths they're not happy to see that he's alive. Most fans assume it was because he abandoned them but in reality they never cared about him to begin with. They always disliked him. Which shows in how they enforce they're abuse and control over him again once he comes back into their lives. Rick started to figure out that Prime Morty was the only one of the Prime Smiths that was worth saving. So he saw the destruction of his original world as a chance to give him a better version of his family. (And he swiped Jerry around a coupled more times because Rick is picky about his Jerrys.) The New Smith Family can all be selfish and dysfunctional people who have their own low moments, but our Rick pick them because they were the closest to being like Prime Mortys orginal family so it wouldn't be as big of a shock for him. Which would make a lot easier for Morty adjusts to his new reality . The big difference is that the New Smiths don't carry the same evil as Rick Prime and even though they'll get into fights they do deep down inside still care about Morty even if they struggle to show it.
Rick does neither need nor want to cure the cronenberged world. He may even have intentionally cronenberged the world because it is prime Ricks world. Prime Rick is the Rick that killed C137s family. C137 may have hoped that Prime would come back to his world to cure it but Prime didn't care. The machine that sends everyone back to their original world may even have been a fraud too, to know prime Ricks location. That's also why this specific Morty is so important to Rick C137. It is prime Ricks Morty. Morty's held hostage by C137 and Morty doesn't know about it. Only problem is, Rick C137 slowly developed feelings for the Morty he originally intended to only use as a hostage to lure prime Rick in because C137 never had a Morty BUT this still doesn't change the fact that their friendship started because Rick wanted to use Morty and Morty is probably going to find out about this in a future episode, probably when C137 and prime have some kind of showdown. (May be unnecessary but I felt like a lot of people in the comments wheren't getting this)
This makes so much sense it almost feels like a spoiler. I always wondered why the smartest man in the universe failed so terribly to cure a simple serum.
Our Rick is far too smart to think Rick Prime would have came back to cure a version of Earth that he literally could not care less about. It's way more likely that Our Rick messed it up on purpose just to teach Morty a lesson early on in their relationship.
@@BigM_TV I don't think so. Didn't he outright said that he chose to be with Morty Prime because he thought Rick Prime would come back because he cared? That belief could expand to the entire planet. Rick only realized he didn't cared at all on later seasons
dudeeee when I saw the rick’s looking confused whenever morty claimed to be Morty C137 for the first time was when I had the realization that Rick C137 didn’t have a Morty for himself
The reason for why he didn't just cure it was probably because he did infact use the same cure as that of the new dimension however the rick of the new dimension got lucky and it worked while our rick didn't get Lucky and so it had side effects. That's how I understood why he didn't just cure this world.
Did you all know it's actually 7 years since the Cronenberg episode?! I just found out, when I searched for the Mazzy Star - Look On Down From The Bridge song that plays while they bury the bodies of alternative Rick and alternative Morty.
"We get 3-4 of these tops!" So by that statement the show can only do this once more (if at all) as of Season 7. 1st: This episode 2nd: The squirrels 3rd: Mr Frundles
Yeah, that also gives more context on why Rick didn't try that hard to save the universe. Because that's the universe of Prime Rick. His daughter and his wife killer.
Morty: ...The one who wont let you down is buried in your back yard! Summer: You're right! Morty: What? No, I'm not right! I-I was using ghoulish overkill! Ghoulish overkill, Summer!
I believe, they didn't thought about Rick Prime's original universe when they created the initial Cronenberged episode. They swaped universe without any problem.
I've just realized, this entire time Morty Prime has been passing himself off as Morty C-137 to all the other Ricks and never got called out for it. There is no Morty C-137.
0:55 Rick gloating and talking down on Morty just for Morty to be right and call Rick an idiot is the perfect example of Morty being smarter than his grandpa.
A cool math concept- Having infinite universes doesn't mean every reality exists. Why? Because infinity is not the same as 'everything'. For example: there is an infinite number of real numbers, but no number X that satusfies this equation: X = X+ 1 Aka, there are infinite universes, but it doesn't necessarily mean that there is one where Rick managed to make everything normal.
Morty really is the worst. He didn't even check to see if his family is ok. Rick I can understand cause he's been through this many times but Morty was new to this
that’s honestly one of the craziest endings to a character such as Prime Jerry that is just mind boggling to think about honestly. He really did live through it all
Not sure why I was so slow, but I've had two realizations that just hit me: 1)the show lost not just the voice of Rick - but also Morty (think I probably overlooked the Morty part previously - I mean I might've - or I'm underestimating myself...I don't remember my initial reaction anymore) 2) it doesn't seem to make sense that the dead Rick has a working portal gun (although I could come up with an asspull explanation).
@@potsdam28 that's the thing I don't get. I would've thought it might've been destroyed in the explosion... or at least not be working after killing that Rick and Morty. Perhaps Rick planted a fake portal gun and dropped the real one in the grave - but it seems a little questionable. And Morty didn't know Rick blew them up to take over their lives - which makes it more doubtful to place a working portal gun in his grave in front of Morty.
ive always wondered why can rick can only do this 3 or 4 more times he constantly says there are infinite universes which would mean he could do this anytime he wanted so what would stop him after the 3 or 4 more times?
The point of Rick saying that was so the writers could communicate to the audience that there is always the outside possibility of using a MacGuffin-esque solution such as slipping into an alternate dimension to return things to the status quo (as we the audience understand it to be).
@ChaseVaccaro-ge3gk it's still infinite it's just to separate the infinite universes from the infinite universes where rick is the most intelligent being
I wonder if this world getting Cronenburg'd is actually a subconscious ploy that Rick C-137 carried out because he knew he was in Rick Prime's universe. That is to say, another Rick managed to figure out a cure, so finding a solution to this wasn't out of any Rick's wheelhouse, but maybe Rick C-137 just carried out anything and everything in this universe with an attitude of not caring whatsoever, since he needed closure by killing Rick Prime. This would explain why Rick was more callous and belligerent in the earlier seasons, but became a little more open to becoming more morally adjusted towards good after the dimension jump, and might explain what happened in this universe in a rationale that "if this universe gets messed up to the point where it can affect Rick Prime, that's a win". Or not, I'm not MatPat, and this is just a theory.
I understood it wrong the first time, I thought this was a universe where Morty passed him the screwdriver in the first place. Which makes me think why they couldn't just ask another Rick and Morty how they fixed thier timeline.
7:48 they respond totally unfazed by the dissappearance of their close family, but there's a real possibility they would never show up again right? Or do they still have teleport tools so they can choose to meet their parallel universe family members?

Rick and Morty makes more sense when you go back to watch the old seasons. This episode explains what happened when the aliens invaded the earth and bugs got Rick hooked on a machine
Yeah they’re all kinda horrible
So true! I completely forgot about that. It seems kinda manipulative of Jerry later when Morty's own parents pretty much admitted to Summer being the favorite child at least twice
@@williamthompson1109Except for using the love serum in the first place, Morty wasn't really at fault for a lot of what happened to them. They were frozen for charging towards the Ricks who came through the portal.
@@babygirl5748 in all honesty, the only thing that Jerry worked on was his body. He was still blaming everyone else for his own problems. Kinda glad he was given a new hole in his head
I think Rick lowkey did this on purpose after being so pissed off he wasn't able to find Prime Rick for so long.
Retroactively this means that Rick just abandoned Rick Prime's universe without hesitation.
Every childhood friend, every distant relative, every early positive memory of Rick Prime was from that world. He deliberately did it, in fact, the only thing that survived from Earth Prime is Morty Prime. But Rick Prime is so narcissistic that he doesn't even care about his actual grand-son
The darkness presented in the burial scene is infinite man. This show is top tier period.
top tier period???
@ problem BOT? Got nothing better to do besides a sad attempt to find someone weak and pick them apart
on the internet? Glorious, sooo glad you F’d up and ran into me 👹
Is nobody gonna talk about how all of this is actually Morty's fault? He is the actual reason Prime universe became Cronenberged. He came back yo the universe he abandoned with Rick, just to prove a point to Summer, leading to destroing portal gun and bringing Council of Rick's attention, leading to freezing Beth and Summer and they eventuall death. Also, while having dinner with them, he talked like they were some kind of animals, not humans. And when he came back one last time, he acted like nothing ever happend. Sure, Rick destroyed that universe, but only because he tried to fixed Morty's doing.
Morty is fully to blame here
I mean honestly? They deserved it. Jerry and Beth treated Morty as the "lesser" than child and outright admitted once or twice they loved Summer more.
They had no right acting like they were entitled to Morty caring about them. I'd have left them frozen in ice too, especially if I knew that I could replace them.
@@ObiWanShinobi917 True, True
Im not saying they are wonderfull parents, now, that would be a lie
It still doesn't change the fact that Morty may be even worse
He is not just exposed to his terrible parents parenting, but also his grandfather
He not only can ruin entire civilization, dimension, or galaxy, but also will look for a blame in everybody alse first
The only time his parents ruined something on that big scale was in galaxy SPA care
He literally wanted to daterape a girl who didn't even like him and then still tried to deflect the blame onto Rick
I just realized when Morty said he was "Morty C-137" the other Ricks looked confused cause they knew what was up
Being able to bury yourself 6 feet below. Morty had some real trauma there.
2:42 It's too bad that Rick & Morty died, they could've told Rick C-137 how to undo The Cronenberg Apocalypse back in the previous Reality.
Tbh, Rick could have easily teleported to a time and dimension where they succeeded and then asked about the cure. But instead, he only showed up after that Rick and Morty died. Like a hermit crab finding a new shell.
Makes me wonder what it's like living as a cronenburg or how bad they were tormented in there heads.
Well, judging from cronenburg rick and morty, its proabably not too bad. Well for the ones that kept their human brain for the most part
In where heads?
@@supraguy4694 when dissecting some of the Cronenburgs, the human Brain was perfectly still intact. Made you wonder if the Humans turned Cronenburg still had a conscience and memory of who they were. but could only be monsters.
I wonder what it's like. Are they in pain all the time because their body parts don't fit together anymore?
What it would be like to see through more than two eyes and hear through more than two ears?
its a bit disconcerting that there are an infinite number of universes, but a finite number of universes where everything turned out alright.
There is an infinite number of numbers between zero and one, but none of them are two.
One of the most iconic moments of Rick and Morty
This was a great theory dude, best comment on this vid. Thanks !

I gotta say, I hope cronenberg rick and morty are doing alright for themselves
I've always wondered if the jerry of the chronenberged world ever found and killed the chronenberged Rick and Morty that came in.

2:40 I’d love to see this scene from the perspective of the neighbors or the paper boy or the mailman.
I like how Jerry's reaction too not being in his original universe
He seems too not even be worried, more confused than anything
I love how the answer in 12:20 totally relates to the issue in 7:32
Rick does neither need nor want
to cure the cronenberged world.
He may even have intentionally
cronenberged the world because
it is prime Ricks world. Prime Rick
is the Rick that killed C137s family.
C137 may have hoped that Prime
would come back to his world
to cure it but Prime didn't care.
The machine that sends everyone
back to their original world
may even have been a fraud too,
to know prime Ricks location.
That's also why this specific Morty
is so important to Rick C137.
It is prime Ricks Morty.
Morty's held hostage by C137
and Morty doesn't know about it.
Only problem is, Rick C137 slowly
developed feelings for the Morty
he originally intended to only use
as a hostage to lure prime Rick in
because C137 never had a Morty
BUT
this still doesn't change the fact
that their friendship started
because Rick wanted to use Morty
and Morty is probably going to find
out about this in a future episode,
probably when C137 and prime
have some kind of showdown.
(May be unnecessary
but I felt like a lot of people
in the comments
wheren't getting this)
This makes so much sense it almost feels like a spoiler.
Well so far only two Ricks who are above others 1st the Prime Rick because he abandoned his and Rick c137 because he doesn't have his own.
The reason for why he didn't just cure it was probably because he did infact use the same cure as that of the new dimension however the rick of the new dimension got lucky and it worked while our rick didn't get Lucky and so it had side effects. That's how I understood why he didn't just cure this world.
Didn't realize Jerry could grow such an amazing beard
It's kind of weird that they were able to bury their dead selves in broad daylight without being seen by anybody
Rick never solved his problems, he just moves to another place to avoid the problem
Did you all know it's actually 7 years since the Cronenberg episode?! I just found out, when I searched for the Mazzy Star - Look On Down From The Bridge song that plays while they bury the bodies of alternative Rick and alternative Morty.

3rd: Mr Frundles
The most important thing, we learn when everyone gets sent back to their own universe in season 6
Our morty’s original Rick is evil Rick.
Yeah, that also gives more context on why Rick didn't try that hard to save the universe.
Because that's the universe of Prime Rick. His daughter and his wife killer.
Yes, Morty is from C-137, the Cronenberged universe, but what universe is "our" Rick from?

A cool math concept-
Having infinite universes doesn't mean every reality exists. Why? Because infinity is not the same as 'everything'.
For example: there is an infinite number of real numbers, but no number X that satusfies this equation: X = X+ 1
Aka, there are infinite universes, but it doesn't necessarily mean that there is one where Rick managed to make everything normal.
Morty really is the worst. He didn't even check to see if his family is ok. Rick I can understand cause he's been through this many times but Morty was new to this
He got that prime Rick DNA in him
that’s honestly one of the craziest endings to a character such as Prime Jerry that is just mind boggling to think about honestly. He really did live through it all
Not sure why I was so slow, but I've had two realizations that just hit me:
1)the show lost not just the voice of Rick - but also Morty (think I probably overlooked the Morty part previously - I mean I might've - or I'm underestimating myself...I don't remember my initial reaction anymore)
2) it doesn't seem to make sense that the dead Rick has a working portal gun (although I could come up with an asspull explanation).
It didn’t get damaged in the explosion?
@@potsdam28 that's the thing I don't get. I would've thought it might've been destroyed in the explosion... or at least not be working after killing that Rick and Morty.
Perhaps Rick planted a fake portal gun and dropped the real one in the grave - but it seems a little questionable. And Morty didn't know Rick blew them up to take over their lives - which makes it more doubtful to place a working portal gun in his grave in front of Morty.
11:46 “boy you have really ark’d out” flew over my head at first

The number of times he used to say morty in old seasons😂😂😂
ive always wondered why can rick can only do this 3 or 4 more times he constantly says there are infinite universes which would mean he could do this anytime he wanted so what would stop him after the 3 or 4 more times?
The point of Rick saying that was so the writers could communicate to the audience that there is always the outside possibility of using a MacGuffin-esque solution such as slipping into an alternate dimension to return things to the status quo (as we the audience understand it to be).
Imagino que es algo parecido a marvel en donde si haces eso muchas veces puedes causar una incursión o algo parecido
The Central Finite Curve, mayhaps?
10:40 that hurt very much
This why people love this show. You laugh, you cry, you think. What are memories. Beth what is real?
what's crazy that if Morty showed Rick back to Jerry, they would've actually come across Rick Prime

I understood it wrong the first time, I thought this was a universe where Morty passed him the screwdriver in the first place.
Which makes me think why they couldn't just ask another Rick and Morty how they fixed thier timeline.
