    Still rocking my 64gb XS but it’s really starting to show its age. The screen has finally started to get noticeable burn in, my battery lasts less than 4 hours with constant use, & it’s sluggish but I attribute that more to having less than 20 gigs of storage free & the degraded battery. Depending on how optimizations go for the next year with iOS 17, I’ll probably upgrade to a 13 or 13 mini. If software breathes new life into it I’ll replace the battery & finally get around to offloading most of my media to other devices to free up storage & nurse it until security support stops.

    Just bought the iPhone 13 from Amazons Great India Festival at 49,500 rupees (594 dollars), minus the money I got for my previous phone at 6000 rupees (72 dollars) it comes at 522 dollars which is very reasonable for an iPhone in my opinion. It was either that or the One Plus 11r at 40,000 rupees (480 dollars). But after using android for 10+ years straight, I had to buy the iPhone for a change, and I’m loving it. The last iPhone I used before this is the iPhone 3GS.

    I think something else to take away from this video is that you could choose one of the cheaper phones like the XS or XR or even the 11 to potentially get for cheap as a phone you could trade in for a carrier deal towards a newer model iPhone

    • @The_Mewster69
      @The_Mewster69 11 месяцев назад +3

      Carrier deals are kinda risky tho since you’ll be locking yourself down for a few years in which case you’d be spending way more money over time than the value of whatever phone you end up choosing to get. Not to mention that most carriers offer a discount for bringing your own device over instead of buying with them. If the name of the game is affordability, going the carrier route is not advised.

    Apple has really left the budget market completely behind and its really disappointing. The iPhone SE 3 is pretty much a no-go, leaving the cheapest viable option brand-new at $600. That completely eliminates the budget and even mid-range markets for most people, forcing consumers to pay way more than they need to if they want the apple experience. It leaves me in a tough spot as an iPhone SE 2 user looking to upgrade.

Other than that it has a lot better battery and is a lot cheaper too for the money its pretty much a robbery. • @logan_cadfgs

    I would personally advise against the iPhone SE 2 at any cost due to its abysmal battery life. It’s bad enough to leave you high and dry in an emergency situation, and I know from experience - last summer we had a tornado warning. While waiting for the warning to expire, I spent about 45 minutes browsing weather and news stuff. In that time, battery dropped roughly 20%.
    Granted, my battery health is at 87%, but a battery replacement isn’t going to do much for such dire performance. Not sure how much better the SE 3 is, but the 2nd gen is absolutely one to avoid. 🤢

    • @SanctusBacchus
      @SanctusBacchus 11 месяцев назад +1

      It's good as a 2nd phone. Also, the type of person to get it as their primary likely isn't one to do a lot of multimedia consumption or to use it for much of anything beyond communication.

      I second this. the battery life on it is completely disgraceful, even at 90% health and above. apart from that it isnt even that bad of a phone, but the battery life solely makes it not even worth considering. This is without having some app like life360 on in the background. I had it on every day for family reasons, and with two hours or more of screen time, i never made it through the day once without charging. completely abysmal battery life and wouldn't reccomend to even the lightest user. luckily switched for the 13 which has solid battery life and gets me through every day.

    XS/XS Max/ XR - Dont Recommend, Update wise it may not get ios 18 this year
    11 Series - If you’re on a strict budget but it may be its last year to get any major software updates
    SE 2020 - Step up to a SE 2022 due to 5G
    12/12 Mini - If you want the mini This would be a great option but i recommend stepping to the 13 Mini due to chip and a better camera. As for the 12, Id step up to a Used 13
    12 Pro/12 Pro Max - If you’re on a budget, Go for it But for more Money You can step up to a 13 Pro/13 Pro Max since those are the first phones to have 120 HZ
    13/13 Mini, For the 13 Since apple is still selling new, Great Entry level Model, As for the 13 Mini, I Recommend as its the last mini sized iphone thats still supported
    13 Pro/13 Pro Max - Good Budget phone that Does 120 HZ
    14/14 Plus - As for the 14, Its not that much different than the 13 and also the last iphone to have a lightning port, 14 Plus is a great Entry plus sized phone
    14 Pro/14 Pro Max - Solid Phones, Last Iphone in the Series to have Lightning Port
    15 Series - If you have the money Go for it.

      Well the non pro 15 is alot better than all the other non pro from 11-14. They haven't changed much but this year it got a lot from upgrading the camera from 12 mp to 48 the dynamic island which is nice better screen, Usb c so you are more future proof, Even the 5g/4g network is 30% better than the older ones and IMO the feel of the phone in the hand is 10x better than 11-14 so it is actually for the first time a pretty good upgrade for the same money.

Going back over a decade I experienced a time roaming through a remote sparsely populated area where I had phone service but "Was NOT ALLOWED" to make calls! We should know in some circumstances phone companies will prioritize enabling calls to authority restricting the public at large! Satellite connect-ability with Apple purchasing their own Satellite System is a reality changer; to my understanding, emergency satellite phone service will not be restricted! From my perspective, any consideration other than Iphone 14 or above is UNTHINKABLE, if you have family or significant loved you want to communicate with. Imagine wanting to stay in touch with someone in Israel?

      Wife still using her SE 2020, she loves it besides the battery life and lack of night mode photos + portrait mode limited to humans. She isn’t a heavy user at all though, I guarantee she would want at least an 11 if she was for battery life (unless Apple releases another, her next will likely be the 13 Mini).
      Her battery health is mid to upper 80% so it is suffering vs brand new but even day 1 the battery sucked. As long as you aren’t a power user in any way and/or can have a charger handy I think it is still a great phone. Pics look really solid in bright daylight, very close to my old 11 Pro not quite on my 13 Pros level but they are totally fine (coming from an amateur photographer since 2008). Middle and low light conditions it will suffer bad where my 13 Pro thrives (both with or without night mode; moderate light photos is where I saw biggest difference upgrading from 11 Pro).
      Also keep in mind the lack of 5g support, imo it shouldn’t matter but could depend where. I live in a rural area but our 5g rollout has been quick, and I can’t speak with certainty but I swear LTE in my area has become worse as more 5g goes up. Or maybe my 13 Pro LTE antenna just sucks lol but even my wife has noted lesser speeds and stability. If the price difference isn’t too great I would maybe spring for the SE 2022, or better yet the 12 or 13 mini but if it is too much the SE 2020 will be solid for another two years easy. Whatever you get, enjoy! Sorry for the book but hopefully helps

      And for reference, wife went from a 4s to the first SE, and now SE 2. She highly prefers small phones and having old home button design and mainly takes occasional photos and texts while away from home. Bit of fb/ig scrolling. Light gaming at home (definitely eat through that small battery). If I tried using her phone for a day I would be charging 5x easy 😂
      Battery life alone I personally would do anything I could to grab a 13 mini if I loved small phones but I do love her SE 2 and I adored the SE 1 using the 5s design (used that phone in Aug 2022 before getting my 13 Pro forget battery health but omg I couldn’t even get an hr of use without needing to charge it was unbelievably bad; estimate health to be 75-77%). Can’t deny the SE 2 was a big upgrade for her

    Last year, I upgraded from the iPhone 7 to the XS, while my kids went from X to 13 Pro. I hate the weight of their phone.
    I was considering the 13 Mini when my XS stops getting the latest iOS (guessing this time next year). However, with the new Pros getting a lighter weight frame, that idea is probably redundant.

      Pretty stupid choice tbh. the non pro 15 is alot better than all the other pro from 11-14. The non pros haven't changed much but this year even the camera on the 15 is better than 13 and even 14 pro if you try it. it got Usb c so you are more future proof The screen is brighter only thing its missing is 120 hz. Even the 5g/4g network is 30% better than the older ones and IMO the feel of the phone in the hand is 10x better than 11-14 pro and its cheaper most places. So one think iPhone 14 pro got over the non pro 15 is the 120hz other than that in every category it beats it and its cheaper so not a good choice at all

      @@abdullahiomar20what a load of horse crap😂. Your base 15 is overpriced garbage compared to a used 14 pro. A dual camera set up with no pro motion will never be better than a tri camera set up. Also, the base 15 has no always on display, zoom, and 60hz. 60hz in 2023😂. The 15 is lighter but it’s a piece of crap in durability tests not to mention terrible heat dissipation due to that cheap titanium and even cheaper aluminum they use now. This is why the 15 has been the worst iPhone launch in the last 10 years. Enjoy your 60hz tho🤡🫡🤣

    • @Go0gly
      @Go0gly 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@abdullahiomar20 trust me, 120hz is very noticeable. Also, you would still get usb 2.0 speeds if you were to get the 15 anyway so usb c is basically not changing anything, most people use a case on their phones so feel in the hand doesn't change much at all. And also the cameras in an iPhone are already so good that there is basically little to no change anymore (apart from the telephoto lens).

    To me you miss the Elephant in the room...
