    I think the ET Max has more of a Cyberpunk styling; reminds me of the Cybertruck in a way. Definitely a departure from all the designs we’ve seen before. Lynx looks like a tank to me and the ET is super brutalist-futuristic!

    The lynx's high speed stability can be improved with a pedal lowering kit because it lowers your center of gravity. To kick it up another notch, you can improve its gyroscopic stability by changing the tire from the stock kenda 262 to something like a shinko 244 or tubeless street tire. 🙂
    Interesting perspective 👍

      It still sucks that you have to upgrade a few things if you wanna go fast on the Lynx. Sure the ET Max might need a suspension upgrade but I’m 160 and I don’t mind the 1300lb spring (obviously could be better though).
      I love the wide street tire and variable pedal height on the ET, and having been used to 45 on my Patton, the added stability on the ET is VERY welcome!

    Thank you for the honest opinion. I went with the lynx as a batch one pre-order person and I got nothing to worry about for around 1k miles. I envy (in a purely friendly way) that you can test both. I believe that the tyres are a big factor on the ride as well especially on asphalt. I do not like the feel of the knobby Tyre on my lynx for what I use it but I am too afraid to change it, and yes, at 85km/h+ it feels a little wonky. I am still super happy having it, but definitely would try the et max. Peace and keep doing what you do. 100% respect

    Thanks Ronin! Great breakdown. I think both are great wheels but I am happy with my Master for now. I rarely go over 45mph and just do street riding. I don't really want to go trail riding, or over 30 miles on any given ride so the Master still performs very well with that use case. I would also like to pick the ET Max but I am worried my short stature (5'5") may be problematic on such a tall wheel. I am not worried about weight. The Lynx is fine and I will ride an ET Max one day at Alienrides. I don't want to ride one anytime soon as that would only tempt me to pick it up. @@boblatkey7160 The only reason I changed the tire was because my buddy had it on his Master and EX30 and recommended it. I also couldn't turn at high speeds on the lynx, it felt sketchy. If you primary use it for trails, just reseat the tire. If you ride mostly street with some offroad, highly recommend the 244, feels grippier turning, stable at high speed, and didn't have to shave the corners off, perfect fit. Sounds better too.

  • @mbelozerov
    @mbelozerov 4 месяца назад +2

    Of course you can improve Lynx's stability physics, and even increase Lynx's maximum speed. The first thing to do is replace the Lynx HT motor with an HS from the Sherman S. This allows for greater speed (current record is 69.5 mph on the SS motor), in addition to speed, it lowers the center of gravity, since the SS motor is heavier than the OG, so it is more stable at speed. Also, the second major Lynx upgrade is the lowering pedal stands, which place the weight even lower to the ground, after which the wheel is perfectly controlled at speed, in no way inferior to the ET Max. Thank you for your review and opinion 🤘

  • @Onelastrun

    Lynx seems to be top dog. For the ppl who don't need to hang out 43 mph plus. A good question is how much skill should be expected to maintain those speeds vs a wheel that is naturally more stable. If I didn't have the patton, I would prolly get the lynx, but if I were to choose a wheel right now, it would either be the EX30, or the ETmaxx.. the next wheel I wanna see is a performance wheel with lower cog from leaperkim. A street wheel. Lower battery boxes. But enough clearance to handle small stair sets

    Ronin, How much difference would your recommendation on the top wheel change if you swapped out the Lynx's tire to a similar street tire to that of the ET Max? I heard some negatives on the k262 I think it's called? I know some riders like say the Michelin 2, TNT(chooch), even the shinko244. Maybe down the road you'll experience the lynx with one of those tires and tell us what you think? Thanks for your videos and reviews and your also your opinion even if it doesn't always match up to what everyone else thinks 😉

    • @Ronin_Ryder
      @Ronin_Ryder  4 месяца назад

      Chooch wobble crashed hard on a street tire. Ive experienced a similar hard wobble on the kenda too. I doubt the tire has an impact on this even though it seems the shinko is nice on it! Lastly i don't really mind if some people have a different opinion. Every rider thinks differently. As long as it's with respect it's cool. People used to think the extreme was a cutout wheel, i advised it was a nice wheel, and 9 months later it's widely known this wheel is great. So you see it's not always irrelevant to have a different opinion 😊

    FWIW, my first 10 miles on the Lynx were pretty wobbly at speed. But after that I locked in and found its rhythm and could ride in the low 50s no problem.
    The ET Max I found abominably awkward at low and medium speed. At least, for my size and weight. Even though it felt better above 38 it isn’t worth the trade off for me. The majority of my riding is in the city and below 40. I would rather have the maneuverability of the Lynx over the stability of the ET Max.
    I think this is because I’m a lot shorter and lighter than Ronin (he a stronk boi). Different body geometries favor different wheels.
