    One thing to note - the bolts holding the trim piece in place are held in place by thin plastic standoffs. The bolts may be sticking to the rubber grommets in the hatch door. As such, when removing the trim piece, it's possible to crack the plastic standoffs. I broke the two outer ones on mine.

    I got an 2012 xv, and was at the car wash some hours ago. Saw then that it dripped water into the hatch window on the inside. So am looking for all information about where it can drip trough. Will ask the mechanic when I have it on service next week. Great video though. Will subscribe.

      Most likely from the 3rd brake light. Mine leaked to the inside from there. Dripped on the sides of the interior. I have a video on my channel about how to remove it. It probably just needs to be cleaned and reinstalled that fixed my leaking. I talked about it in that video here’s the link.

    In some instances you need to remove the trim piece to change the switch opener. In this scenario, the switch opener, (part number 63270FJ010), has two buttons: one opens the rear hatch and the other, which is located to the right of the panel, is for locking all doors without using the key fob. Replacing this entire switch mechanism becomes impossible unless you remove the rear trim.

    This might be off topic but how do you resolve rough idle and jumpy throttle in the 2012 model years? When I reverse touch the gas then let off it almost dies but recovers again. Is it fuel, air or spark? Great videos btw. Thanks in advance

      Could be any of those or a combination. Miles? How old are the plugs

    My hatch won't open anymore; my mechanic says we have to access it from the inside... and I'm wondering how the heck I will be able to maneuver in there to pull the trim? It was working intermittently, so I'm not sure if it's the actuator or the latch or both? Subaru wants $140 for the latch, there are 3rd party vendors (with limited warranties), so I might try that first... but HOW do I get to the latch from the inside??? Thanks for any suggestions, haven't been able to find a video that solves my problem. Rachel

      @KurtofTrades  Год назад

      There’s an access panel on there you can pop off with a screwdriver and manual release the hatch.

      I would try replacing the button first it’s easy and cheap

      @@KurtofTrades appreciate your help - one thing I do notice though - when I hit the 'lock/unlock" button on my fob, I can hear all the doors reacting, but not the back hatch. So, maybe it's the activator? Pain in the .... not being able to access my trunk! Someone on here mentioned a coupon from Subaru about this issue - so far, I've had no luck getting an affirmative answer from my dealer on that....

    By any chance do you know how to disable the grid/guide lines of backup-camera on a 2017 Subaru Crosstrek with a standard radio? I see nothing in the menu of the infotainment system and don't know if a "secret" menu exists on this system. There is a secret menu on other Crosstrek's with navigation, starlink or premium sound-systems - reachable by holding down the home button and clicking the tune dial 5 times. Thanks

      I would just get a set if you don’t have one, buying individual sockets is expensive. Here’s a good 1/4 drive starter set! amzn.to/3JirCLy

    Anyone know what that back exterior piece is called or where I might be able to find the oem part #? Looking for a replacement but don’t know what to ask google.

    • @KurtofTrades
      @KurtofTrades  7 месяцев назад +1

      It’s called either the hatch trim or lift gate trim, should be able to find it on Subarus parts website with that search

    • @tima8049
      @tima8049 7 месяцев назад

      Thanks, I Found it on their parts website. “Liftgate finish panel garnish”
      I garnish my Crosstrek with only the most luxurious oem plastics. A high price to pay but worth it if you consider the safety and socio-economic implications of driving a garnish-less Crosstrek.
