Auto Start Stop Not Engaging? Here's Why
I've heard the Fluid Film washes away easily when powerwashing. If so, at least surface shield would last 1 full year, while FF would have been washed away within a couple of weeks during fishing season.
How much input delay
This stuff is probably very laggy
No latency actually
@@KurtofTrades that’s pretty cool then. I’m watching your other vids
Yea I was really worried it would be laggy when I first set it up. Wouldn’t be worth it if it was
Makes sense! I never thought of it this way, that the cost of a valve body. Great video. Thanks
Is it Black?
I've used them for years as well without a problem. Like 30 years. However, there were a group of engineers that did a rough test, and the extra guard let through a lot of contaminants. I'll share the link.
I had a 97 crown vic that would make slight valve train noise on cold starts using a fram. Switched to a motorcraft fl820s with the silicone anti drain back valve and it didn't make noise on start ups. Those filters sit on their side so the oil mite have been draining out using the fram. I've stayed away from the extra guard frams ever since. These days I'm more cautious. I usually use an oe filter if it's constructed well like the motorcrafts or a good quality aftermarket with good construction and with a correct pressure relief valve pressure rating. I like wix filters. They are built well and have silicone anti drain back valves. I'm sure a fram works well most of the time but for me I've lost the trust in some applications so I just stay away from fram all together ☹️
Why does my car shut off when the door is opened, after it has been remote started.
do you have a video on how to change the spark plugs in a 2011 subaru forster?
Lol. I had some canned goods in passenger side which was setting off my sensor. The dealership wanted to replace my seat belt. I went to another repair shop and he immediately told me it was the weight of the cargo on the passenger side.😂
I'm on the fence about buying this. Its in my cart. Can you view the footage remotely? Does footage get uploaded to cloud? If so how much cloud do you get?
I think this is the explanation for my Toyota Highlander. Everything fits your description. Thanks!
1 to 2min idle then drive off slowly. chevys. 5.7 and 6.0 😊
My 2018 Legacy makes whats almost a droning/grinding noise from the rear at low speeds, when taking off from a parked state. Your video makes a lot of sense as to there not being a serious problem. I don't notice it at higher speeds so the pads not moving freely makes the most sense. I will check for wheel slop next time I jack it up but I'm not going to worry for now as I have no other issues not even at high speeds, thanks
The car pushes itself when cold starting a car...it feels off or wrong when you drive as soon as you start the car. Unnatural
Don't want any vehicle with a CV transmission, no matter the manufacture. I want shifts either manually or automatically. And a transmission that can be rebuilt when needed.
😮💨 Thank you.
Try to sit and drive it when it's -30
Best Practice 1) Cold Start: Start your car and let it idle for 30 seconds to a minute to allow oil circulation. 2) Gentle Driving: Begin driving at moderate speeds; this warms up your engine and transmission faster than idling. 3) Avoid Hard Acceleration: Don’t push the engine hard until the temperature gauge shows it’s warmed up. Excessive idling wastes fuel and contributes to unnecessary emissions. Warming your car by driving gently is better for your car and the environment.
Great video bud. Couple other common issues. Lifter bearings, door hinges and fuel pumps. I’ve had 2 2015’s that had all of these issues.
Earlier Subaru Foresters had a flaw whereby the head gasket would blow at the oil channel. This happened to us. Its all very well to say "drive to warm up the car" but in doing so you're at higher rpms and higher oil pressure when the oil is cold. I dont know for sure, but I suspect this contributes to blowing the gasket.
Thanks
Have you tried a premium tire sock like AutoSock? We're the original tire sock, and the only one approved across the US!

You did not show or discuss which fuse you decided to tap for power or how you routed the wiring to the fuse panel.
Didn’t use the fuse panel just the 12v outlet
I rarely idiled my car. I always get into my car and drive right away because I don't have time to wait for 10-15 minutes to warm up my car. My car get warm up as I go.
Had jeeps my whole life. All have been zero problems. Just some normal wear and tear. A 2001 w/ inline v6 lasted 450k miles. No electrical other than the bad taillight bulb design. Have a newer one now and been a blast still. My neighbor has a Grand Wagoneer who does lots of trips and shockingly it has over 150k and says the same thing. Love em and has been a great vehicle. Let’s go Lions!!!!
There would be a class action lawsuit by now if the filters were that bad..
I have a performance car and I wait for the rpms to drop coolant comes to around 50 degrees celsius it only takes about a minute or two in cold weather
2015 Grand Cherokee, had to replace the drivers side blend door, thermostat, engine oil cooler and the camshaft rockers... the needle bearings are a known issue you forget to mention. Other than that the car has been reliable, have 130k on it.
Thank you, sir!!!
I dont want this if it attracts dirt. I want to use a product that looks good where the frame is visable.
You won’t find a product that protects from salt and looks good, it’s just not out there
Never take off on cold start.... i wait 2 to 3 minutes till light goes out.
They're rust preventative not undercoating. Iirc FF was 1st used by the Navy then became used for farm equipment way before automotive.
In modern cars, the warm up after 30 seconds is for the occupants. It's not good to idle cold because the oil and mechanical moving components are cold. You are doing more harm than good. Just drive off.
Dude your video is stupid plain and simple
Dude! You didn’t do a bulb change.
I have a Suzuki Ignis, 1.2Litre 4 Cylinder NA Engine, the temperature in winters where i live goes to about -7 degrees Celsius, as i start the engine the engine Revs up to 1500 RPM, i let it sit for about 2-3 minutes as i let the front and rear glass defrost, opening the gate, plugging charger to my phone, resetting the trips on the MID sometimes, and then i drive off making sure i don’t go above 1800-2000RPM, its a small car(800-900KG) so i can manage it, the blue light goes off in about 7-10 minutes from the start of the car, anyone think i am driving off too early?
I wait for the rpm to go down 1000rpm then drive it..its like you when you wake up you dont like to go up right away and do your things unless youre late
Oh my goodness I am ever so grateful to you for posting this information. We just got our 2023 Subaru. You described the noise, location and scenario to the “ T”. That is exactly what happened. You made me laugh tho as I listened thinking about what my husband and I did. We backed the car out of the garage, closed the garage , went back into the garage and no noise so we pulled the car back in and by then the noise was gone. I thought it was coming from the garage mechanism. My hubby kept saying it’s coming from the back of the car😮
Tripping.guy bad mary
Warm up only damages the engine . I suggest 30 séc tô 1 minutes alterar turning on the car wothiut pressing the gás pedall .
I have the 2015 grand cherokee, 3.6 pentastar. Recently noticed fluid leak spot on driveway. Clear not pink or red so I assumed not transmission fluid but power steering fluid. Checked reservoir and it was almost empty. Topped it off. Crawled under car to try to locate leak. Bottom of transmission was very wet and had been dripping through lower chassis shield. Too congested to locate leak. Would it be safe to assume power steering fluid had been blown back while driving? Car runs and shifts fine with no noises. Looked at rack and pinion connections as well as pump. Can’t really see steering column shaft control valve assembly without getting the car on a lift. Is that a possibility? I don’t believe those hoses or lines go back to the transmission. Maybe spraying out of a loose or broken connection?
Hey, I just learnt about this stuff, I am on long island, and right now the outside temperature is about ~40 degrees, is it too cold (too late) for me to air spray fluid film ? Thanks
No that’s fine
I use he black Fluid Film. It makes the springs and undercarriage look real nice.
I like the black better as wel
How long did this work? Is it reliable?
I’ve been running it for about 4 months now continuously, no issues so far.
@@KurtofTrades Thank you
I just let it run for a minute or two after starting and then put it in 1st gear and then gently drive it for a few blocks until I get away from the house a mile or two. Shift thru 2nd gear thru 4th gear and after 3 minutes the coolant temp is starting to climb as indicated by the gauge. Jeep Wranglers heat up very quickly by design and that is a plus in my book.
YOU obviously DO NOT kNOW much about vehicles or engines, ie, A DUD. Most engines have ALMINIUM CYLINDER HEADS. Therefore, starting and idling and a NON stressing warm up allows the engine & cylinder head to expand and increase the clamping force on the head gasket BEFORE high temps and high pressure, ie, cylinder gasket blowing forces can happen. Starting and stressing immediately allow for head gasket failure because the gasket IS NOT YET FULLY clamped by EXPANSION of the aluminium to enhance the head bolt tension. SMART you seem but it isn't TRUE! A DUD as mentioned.
For several years, I've tended to practice the middle example, and find that my car (a contemporary Lexus IS 350) reaches normal operating temperature within 5 minute even on a "cold" day here in the Pacific NW. With that said, I try to avoid aggressive accleration/revving until the temp gauge reaches "norma"l temperature range. Just driving normally, albeit a bit less aggressively, seems to be the best thing to do for the first few minutes of engine operation.
The transmission will never warm up by idling either, think about it. A minute or two and then drive, just don't race like a maniac. Putting that load on the engine will warm it up faster, it's that simple.
Idle 3 minutes or so and leave driving easy
