@@CrazyGreenFluff I fully, 100% agree that you should always make sure the recipient is an adult before sending NSFW content. @carimeslockdownedtree2654 yes, I completely agree with you on this. I have had issues when I was asked to reveal my age, even if the person was nice and had no ill intent. I’ve had one time when I wasn’t thinking and actually revealed my exact age to someone I had never met prior, and that led me to being predatorily attacked. I’ve learned from there that if I’m asked to give someone my age, the most I’ll give is “I’m a minor” and nothing more. I deeply respect adults that keep their distance from minors, for their safety and to avoid situations in the future. Private information should be kept private, and unless the person is really really close with the other, there’s no reason to give your exact age, you’re not obligated to, so don’t. Even if you deeply trust that person, always ALWAYS be skeptical about what you decide to send them. When you send photos, they’re now public to the internet, and the same goes with anything else you share. Be responsible, be smart, because the internet is dangerous.
@LizLizLizzz oh that's absolutely awful! I'm sad you had to go through that! But yeah, people have to be more careful about what they put out online. I once joined a discord server about a web story, with the author there, and... a bunch of minors started posting selfies out of nowhere. I tried to warn the first one who did it, but didn't get through to them and then a bunch followed. I had to leave the server. I wonder if the mods (adults) were able to handle the situation properly, because it really left a bad taste in my mouth. And some even had their exact age listed. Man...

Bottom line is, grooming is to gain something specific out of that person. Often by normalizing or manipulating something. This case though, seems like fandom immaturity at best. A creator was too caught up with their own fun, instead of re-checking and reset their boundaries while sharing media. Then they get labeled as a groomer for it. The only thing that they seemed to have gained is just the creator's misplaced joy of talking about the mundane. That's it? ... that's it? Accidentally sharing nsfw with minors (almost 18) through negligence? That's I T ? This is... rather petty. There's no ill intent. And honestly chances are, nothing world shattering happened to anyone.
Sad's negligence lead to this. I do hope we do not undermine the fact that these minors did not explicitly state their actual age, only giving confirmation for what was required therefore they are as responsible. And as for those that call this "grooming" please stay in school.
I feel selfish for feeling like my special interest is being shredded apart, that it’s over, that I should move on. I feel very selfish. (I’m used to it, I am in the DSMP fandom which is hanging on by a thread. But it still hurts)
It’s ok to feel upset about something like this. I’m in the Good Omens fandom and we just recently found out how much of a creep the creator of the show is. Most of us were able to accept this fact and stop supporting him, but that doesn’t mean that we weren’t absolutely devastated at the same time. As long as you can recognize the damage done, it is perfectly fine to be sad about this kind of situation, ESPECIALLY if you’re fixated on whatever was created by the not-so-good person.
To SAD-ist’s credit, this seems like an honest mistake. I’m choosing to be a little wary, but I also keep in mind that SAD was preventing this from happening when she found out the ages
This is negligence and oblivious at best or at worse she knew but still did it But theres literally no proof of that and everything goes down to it being a mistake, like the minor didn't say there age, but it was also there responsibility to know whether someone is 18 or not just to be sure aswell but like its also iffy cause u know they minor lied about there age. People need to chill in comments jesus
Bro "supplying minors with access to NSFW content" is the most nothingburger accusation I've ever heard. If you have access to the internet, you have access to NSFW content. Porn sites don't actually verify the ages of users. Are we going to start "exposing" pornhub, deviantart, etc for not demanding photo ID from all users? This is a non-problem.
When I saw this first thing that came to mind ‘the dream smp is cursed.’ I swear literally anyone who had ANYTHING to do with it has done something bad, there’s only a few good ones.
This kind of stuff is why I think creators just shouldn’t have public discords. I just don’t think they can ever truely be safe. It’s also where a bunch of accidents like this happen. Mainly because a random person is suddenly responsible for the safety of all these people when they are in the server. Who aren’t always prepared for every situation, and aren’t completely aware of all the steps they need to take to ensure things like this don’t happen.
Precisely. Having a public discord server or any kind of community is a HUGE responsibility. Mistakes are bound to happen, and you can't think of every possible precaution to take. And well, more people = more trouble People just love to make drama out of thin air instead of being mature and objective
I feel like almost every content creator, song artist, or streamer I like the content of is just being exposed left and right and I feel like I won’t find any content creators, or song artists that I like by the time I’m in collage
The thing that people forget is that we're all human, not everyone is a creep, honest mistakes really DO happen, we're not perfect and you can always find dirt on anyone around you, even if it's something as silly as "they always have dirty feet" or something. This information WILL affect how you see the person And also accusations are really common to throw around nowadays. Who's to say that those are always true? And who's to be the judge of what other people do? People blow things out of proportion as always. We're just not allowed to make mistakes without being cancelled or without there being some loud drama Just watch out for people who were CONFIRMED to have done bad things and still continue to do them (not like something they did 10 years ago and could be a different person by now). Mistakes happen and creepy behavior is usually consistent, not a one time thing. Differentiate between actual creeps and people who have been negligent or oblivious to have made a mistake like this
It’s kind of fucking weird, but I guess it’s not… the worst thing? Uhg I mean you wouldn’t catch a normal person accidentally sending nsfw to minors. I feel like knowing someone’s age when talking to them is a pretty important detail.
I literally don’t know how old you are. Any number you tell me could be truth or a lie. Am I supposed to go around harassing people to show me their ID? How would I know it is theirs, and not their parents‘? Or bought off the darkweb?
Its the popularity causing them to do this i guess, or their just really fuoqjsakaka'ed up to begin with and only saw a reason to do bad shkskajkkak once they got famous since bigger popularity more people to badly influence
This isn’t even weird aswell, it’s just people calling it weird, like an accident that led to NSFW content being given to a minor without the adults knowledge of the persons age isn’t stuff that can get to “exposed” territory. Yet here we are.
I watched another video covering this by Ari and I still think that pretty much everyone involved in this were just all pretty weird. Also why does this have to be a series?
this isnt even that bad sad and jay just like. didnt know. like yeah i get ur supposed to ask and all but this is really not that bad thank you for covering this!
I faked my age since since I was 11 to get to those places. It's NOT hard to fake it and is pretty hard to find out. Even then, those minors are quite likely in other servers with that kind of content themselves. They know if there is that stuff, they should separate themselves from it and explain they are not of legal age to view it. They intentionally stayed from what I understand. Everyone is at fault, especially the minors for sticking around that content to only then reveal it later as some awful act of 1 sided exposure. The weird relationship thing I heard from this, though, is definitely something that requires more insight. Saddist has good stuff. Don't think they deserve being canceled. From what I've heard in this video.😅
A few things. Minors SHOULD hide their age online, just not lie about it. The best way to protect something like this from happening is to communicate that as a server policy and for someone to confirm their age concretely before being invited. Obviously a minor can and will lie about their age because they feel mature enough to handle the content being blocked. So on that note. Plenty of minors seek out this content, I agree. However, in some cases, including my own experience, a minor can be naive enough to miss warnings and stumble upon mature content by accident. I never sought anything mature out until I was eighteen, but instead, happened to encounter it through mislabeled content online. Still, especially in this case, minor’s are usually also at fault for the negligence by taking advantage of it. Lastly, the only thing I believe Sad-its is at fault here based off of what was revealed in the video is negligence for not fixing the mistake after the first time. Nothing sinister seems to have happened and this drama serves to spread awareness to mod teams and server owners more than anything else.
Just another reason for why i struggle to trust people on the internet in general. Even when someone tells you that they are over 18, you cant really be 100% sure and anyone looking in from the outside the older person is always held at fault and called a groomer when a fair number of times the accused "groomer" was lied to from the start, thus not being aware of how old the person they are talking to actually is.. then you have those people saying things like "you shouldn't share NSFW content on the internet in general... As if they are some saint whos never been on spicy sites like Phub.. The only obstacles I can personally think of is "How do you verify someones age online?" There's loads of ways to go about it, but most are flawed thus bypassable, and the effective methods are "Too Intrusive" for people to want to share said information.. I've stopped even watching some channels because of how unknown their general age while their comment sections are full of highly questionable and sus comments. Comments not typical of an adult talking to another adult..
Okay, thought this was gonna be worse but thankfully it's just an honest mistake where both parties were stupid. Phew. Was really worried when Sad-ist "drama" appeared in my for you page.
Dude, 2024 has been A year. They probably aren’t bad people (I may have mis-understood something in the video, so correct me if I’m wrong), but still it only seems fair to fact-check the ages of the people on your team, AND the people who you think you know
Well, TL;DR not much of a drama. Kind of a honest mistake and negligence on their part, but nothing unforgivable. Yes, they should be more careful and try to gather more important info first next time, but its not as if it was done with any ill intent. Just a bit of a honestly reckless mistake
Honestly I’m really glad they weren’t being creeps. Sure, it was stupid and wrong, but wasn’t grooming. Although it’s still bad, I consider it forgivable. However this would come with the assumption that proper precautions will be taken when adding people to NSFW servers or staff teams, requiring some kind of age verification, and that this will not happen again.
All of my favorite people from when I was younger getting exposed for mistakes or being crappy... Makes me want to leave RUclips especially since that's where I hear about it most, but I use RUclips for learning and entertainment too, so... Time to get a working filter, I guess...?
I feel as if this is a blown out of proportion way too much do you guys think minors don't look up porn by themselves especially the ones around their age pretty sure those kids know what they were doing and sure I guess it is a bit weird but like it's not traumatizing in any way shape or form or at least it wasn't for me when I was that age
I'm concerned about the amount of people shrugging this off completely. Sure, it was a mistake, but they still sent NSFW to minors and should at least be held accountable for negligence. Which many people are pointing out, but they're acting like it's fine? I feel like drama has become too much like reality TV, it's only focused on when it's interesting. Just because this (thankfully) isn't as bad as other stuff doesn't mean it should be swept under the rug. I'm not saying they should lose their job or anything, I just don't like the general tone surrounding this incident.
genuine question what for accountability look like to you in this situation? I do agree the overall attitude in the comment may be a bit too blasé, but in my opinion this whole situation warrants the server equivalent of an HR warning at the absolute most
im convinced good people are just extinct (i don't think this situation is *that* extreme, but its just another reminder isn't it) like yeah, i know that's pessimistic and not a ''healthy outlook on life'' yadayada but don't pretend like you haven't been there at least once, whether you stayed or not its far too easy to commit a woopsy or ''slip up'', and far too hard to use your brain, apparentaly
The truth is: humans are never fully "good". Goodness is subjective, we all make mistakes, whether they're extreme or minor You can be the nicest person in the world and still do something that people won't be happy with, or will bash on you for. They'll call you a weirdo, a bad person, accuse you of being a creep, etc. It's hard to escape this sort of stuff, and people will always overexaggerate the situation It sucks that we treat every mistake someone makes as some sort of scandal or huge drama. It's really not necessary at all. People just can't be rational nowadays
I understand completely what you mean, and I try to give people more leniance. I literally watch Bojack Horseman, a show which is basically filled to the brim with morally grey characters, constantly showing off their flaws and.. Pros? I can never think of an opposite to flaw. Maybe it's just arrogance, but I hate seeing people trip up and act wrecklessly whilst balancing an entire career when its over something so easily avoidable. @@DeadVoxel
@@DoseOfRandom137 I do get that. Obviously we all wish that people would think before they act a lot more, but it's life. People do stupid things because people don't always think of everything and certain things just don't cross their minds. I'm no exception to this either. I've probably done things that could've been easily avoidable but didn't think of the right thing to do at the moment. I suppose it all comes down to understanding and to giving people the benefit of the doubt unless they really show to be consistently a bad person

Honestly I expected worse drama but its a pleasant surprise that it really is just an honest mistake, when even the unintentional victim is saying there is 0 grooming involved then there’s no reason to accuse people of that
This is why you need to have them actually say outright that they're 18 or older, so if they get caught as a minor, they'd be outed for lying.
PERIOD 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I would agree but putting a minor on blast for lying about their age is pretty pathetic imo. Yes, they should face consequences but public harassment and embarrassment? I feel like thats too far in terms of whats being punished. Teens arent exactly innocent in NSFW content and these situations arent uncommon.
They would still be deliberately lying about their age, no? Yea, kinda pathetic but atleast you know they intentionally went out of their way just for maybe soft corn 😂 @@seraphywang4638

That's it?
... that's it?
Accidentally sharing nsfw with minors (almost 18) through negligence? That's I T ?
This is... rather petty. There's no ill intent. And honestly chances are, nothing world shattering happened to anyone.
@ManicObsevations exactly LMAO
This is negligence and oblivious at best or at worse she knew but still did it
But theres literally no proof of that and everything goes down to it being a mistake, like the minor didn't say there age, but it was also there responsibility to know whether someone is 18 or not just to be sure aswell but like its also iffy cause u know they minor lied about there age.

And well, more people = more trouble
People just love to make drama out of thin air instead of being mature and objective
This information WILL affect how you see the person
And also accusations are really common to throw around nowadays. Who's to say that those are always true? And who's to be the judge of what other people do? People blow things out of proportion as always. We're just not allowed to make mistakes without being cancelled or without there being some loud drama
Just watch out for people who were CONFIRMED to have done bad things and still continue to do them (not like something they did 10 years ago and could be a different person by now).
They can lie easily
But all in all, this is most likely just an honest mistake and negligence
I literally don’t know how old you are. Any number you tell me could be truth or a lie. Am I supposed to go around harassing people to show me their ID? How would I know it is theirs, and not their parents‘? Or bought off the darkweb?
it sucks how people who used to be cool turn into weirdos
Ikr I hate this
I hate all the drama that's going on in 2024
Its the popularity causing them to do this i guess, or their just really fuoqjsakaka'ed up to begin with and only saw a reason to do bad shkskajkkak once they got famous since bigger popularity more people to badly influence
in this case it honestly feels more like negligence/a mistake but yeah
This isn’t even weird aswell, it’s just people calling it weird, like an accident that led to NSFW content being given to a minor without the adults knowledge of the persons age isn’t stuff that can get to “exposed” territory. Yet here we are.
@@alphateam3326….
This is the world we live in. We can’t have anything, we like someone and they ruin it years later
I watched another video covering this by Ari and I still think that pretty much everyone involved in this were just all pretty weird. Also why does this have to be a series?
I did NOT have this on my 2024 bingo list
this isnt even that bad sad and jay just like. didnt know. like yeah i get ur supposed to ask and all but this is really not that bad
thank you for covering this!
@@sanityflyer5294 they don’t , it’s not as bad as ppl are making it out to be
A few things.
I have officially given up on humanity in this site
Okay, thought this was gonna be worse but thankfully it's just an honest mistake where both parties were stupid. Phew. Was really worried when Sad-ist "drama" appeared in my for you page.
Until now I didn't really know SAD-ist for anything other than an HK animation I vaguely remember from a few years ago
Dude, 2024 has been A year.
They probably aren’t bad people (I may have mis-understood something in the video, so correct me if I’m wrong), but still it only seems fair to fact-check the ages of the people on your team, AND the people who you think you know
Those minors are almost adults, and those adults just became adult
Well, TL;DR not much of a drama. Kind of a honest mistake and negligence on their part, but nothing unforgivable. Yes, they should be more careful and try to gather more important info first next time, but its not as if it was done with any ill intent. Just a bit of a honestly reckless mistake
Honestly I’m really glad they weren’t being creeps. Sure, it was stupid and wrong, but wasn’t grooming. Although it’s still bad, I consider it forgivable. However this would come with the assumption that proper precautions will be taken when adding people to NSFW servers or staff teams, requiring some kind of age verification, and that this will not happen again.

bruh why do my favourite creators end up doing terible things >:(((((((((((((((
I'm concerned about the amount of people shrugging this off completely.

I do agree the overall attitude in the comment may be a bit too blasé, but in my opinion this whole situation warrants the server equivalent of an HR warning at the absolute most

The truth is: humans are never fully "good". Goodness is subjective, we all make mistakes, whether they're extreme or minor
You can be the nicest person in the world and still do something that people won't be happy with, or will bash on you for. They'll call you a weirdo, a bad person, accuse you of being a creep, etc. It's hard to escape this sort of stuff, and people will always overexaggerate the situation
It sucks that we treat every mistake someone makes as some sort of scandal or huge drama.
