We got invited to the iconic Petzl RocTrip and we were on a mission to experience it all! So we headed to a bolting clinic where we met Petzl athlete Edu Marin who gave us a rundown of the Manikia Project and cool down from the intense greek heat we took a dip in the river...

Canyoning is potholing without a roof. Great fun.
We used to do it ( in reverse ) on Skye...one epic burn to follow goes up into the coire on Blaven/Clach Glas on the sligachan side. There is all kinds of climbing, jumping, swimming and messing around in general then...you appear, a short way from the ridge...pop along that ridge, probably the most technical " scamble " on the island.
Return along that ridge and go onto the Marsco/ red cuilin side of life.
All in all, we spent 15-16 hours on that "day-out", knackering but awesome...

To captialize "very" in "got VERY scared" seems like a click seeking exaggeration.
Climbers always come into canyons and think they're expert canyoneers just because they can barely rappel and then they do everything wrong.

What kind of things do they do wrong? Seems like as long as you know the different ways to setup a figure 8 you could rappel.
@@caedmonswanson2378 using dynamic rope instead of static, double stranded rappelling in swift water canyons (big no no), not rigging with contingency, not wearing helmets, etc.
Canyoneering is not climbing and its not as straightforward as you're acting like. There are many different safety aspects that need to be considered. Theres a lot more to it than just rappelling. And we don't use figure 8's to rappel because thats dumb
