Psilocybin saved my life. I was addicted to heroin for 15 years and after Psilocybin treatment I will be 3 years clean in September. I have zero cravings. This is something that truly needs to be more broadly used in addiction treatment.

And at 18 I was making over 100k a month selling drugs and running a big pimp operation. My friend told me to take shrooms. So I did and wow did it change my life. I have more empathy towards people and stopped everything I was doing. I got married and started my own lawn maintenance company and now my business is making around 500k a year. I do mushrooms regularly. And I can tell you that having two psychologists at the end of your bed , asking you constantly to report on your experience and also. I think the lighting in that room isn't cosy. Completely dark room with a bathroom next door. Trust me, being analysed by sober psychiatrists guiding me through a tripp is the most anxious setup imaginable. A spa would be perfect. Nice warm bath . Good food prepared. Nice aromas. My first trip was awful, probably because I took too much, anyways after a year of being afraid of mushrooms from past experience I finally tested them out again, and honestly? I've changed my life around so much, I was unorganized, I had severe depression (wanting to die, contemplating) and my life was just a complete mess. Anyway, I'm more focused and I'm actually more happier, instead of staying in a dark room all day I go out more and I actually started decorating my room which is something. After 4 years of depression, I'd say mushrooms really fixed me.

Now jesus, said the following, he claimed to be divive so put him to the test..

      Mathew 11-28
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

They probably know this. However, getting the clearance to even do this kind of research must have been tough enough. I think they would've needed to get these things approved by an ethics board, and an ethics board may not want to approve administration of these kinds of drugs in a setting other than a lab or clinical setting without very close supervision. They also need to make observations and document it all. I think the researchers are doing a good job attempting to change public perception of these compounds given the current political and legal environment they are working within.

I took mushrooms with my friend, and its one of my best memories. I felt like I was going through a portal into different worlds. We ate an 8th each for our first time and it was intense. I remember looking into the ceiling and it slowly started spinning into itself like a portal. I looked around the ceiling and I could see other little portals spinning. We looked at that ceiling for like 15 minutes but it felt like an hour had passed. I remember it was getting dark and I was starting to get scared so I went home. When I got home I looked in the mirror and I saw myself looking back at me, not a good idea to look into mirrors when on shrooms, so I decided to watch tv. I don’t remember what I was watching, or what was even on at the time but I do remember this one commercial. It was a bunch of people playing Volleyball on the beach and they looked like they were having a great time. The next thing I know... I look around and I’m in the commercial. People are all around me, everyone’s having a good time. I start tripping out so I turn off the tv. I started looking for things to do and I remembered my friend let me borrow a comic called Akira. I read the whole manga that night. I felt like every page was a portal and I could see the characters talking and when they drove motorcycles down the freeway, I could feel the wind. I could hear the sounds from the motorcycles. I
watched each page carefully as I was reading looking at every detail.

    • @ganjaericco
      @ganjaericco 8 лет назад +18

I would have to disagree; if you wanted to disconnect yourself from reality, then you would choose something along the lines of alcohol or heroin. Psilocybin connects you to yourself, it makes you look at yourself and the world in a different light. It is a tool when taken in the right setting with intent, and it's not some magical rainbow ride, it will brutally show you all the tricks you have pulled on yourself.

With these studies, they are not intending to recommend Psilocybin because it's a naturally occuring product. They might allow some people access to it legally..... Big Oil own big pharma and most pharmaceuticals are made with petroleum and therefore they are looking for ways they can add psilocybin to trivial crap like peppermint flavoring so they can patent it like with Sativex where it's pure cannabis oil but they can't patent cannabis oil so they add peppermint flavoring, some alcohol to make it less viscous and easily sprayed and claim a 1:1 dose of THC and CBD is their original idea.
So when they say they need more studies, that doesn't mean psilocybin doesn't work - many people use it - especially athletes however what they are saying is that they need more studies so the monopoly men can work out how to abuse your money and profit like a parasite. Mushrooms are part of nature and belong to the earth and the monopoly guy should NEVER be the middle man for you and health. With all the pollution in the environment and food we need things like Cannabidiol and Psilocybin which induce stem cell production in the brain (neurogenesis).

True that! and not only do they help you with emotional disorders like PTSD, depression and anxiety but they also make areas of your brain That don't normally communicate wit each other synchronize, and it also decreases activity in parts of the brain that are associated with our sense of self. Basically it "opens your mind" so you begin to question yourself and question really the construct of what is our society and life. And the Government does not want us to realize our own power and the impact of their corruption.

You're right, people don't die from taking shrooms, but they can die from their actions after taking them. You can also die from taking the wrong shrooms or from additives that street dealers might use. Use common sense..

I've been practicing Silat and Escrima since 1993 and Taiji, Bagua and Xingyi since 2008. I like practicing slow twisting and circling steps with blades. It nourishes my brain and I circulate my chi to stay healthy and massage my internal organs to stay soft and limber.
The first thing I would teach someone is how to relax and root and circulate Qi. After relaxing,, someone can learn basic Gong Fu!
I have been sober for 20 years, since the age of 26. My mother sold Ganja and I started smoking with her when I was 9 YO. I have found that the breathing and slow, healthy movements of Tai Chi are helpful for handling Stress and PTSD.

Shrooms should no longer be illegal. Everyone, help educate the ignorant masses on this subject! Unfortunately these are the people voting for it to be illegal, and they must be convinced otherwise.

I'm gonna be honest, having someone sober sitting by me and trying to tether me back to reality would make my trip way worse. Maybe it's just me, but I'd much rather do mushrooms/LSD by myself, and then eventually I might warm to the idea of talking to someone

Then God said, "Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them"; and it was so. The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.- Genesis 1:11-12

Psilocybin was absolutely fundimental in my quitting alcohol. I suffered from chronic alcoholism for a decade, and haven't had a drink in half a decade now. Not one. I also was able to quit tobacco in one day (same day I quit alcohol: Dec 30th, 2014.). I have since taken up photography, gotten back to thru-hiking and climbing, quit eating meat, and provide a better life for myself and my family. We are on the verge of bucking the weight of a stigma that has kept people from realizing their true potential for generations now. The more we talk about this, the faster we bring to fruition essential changes in law and the way we administer medcine/treatment. Thank you BBC for highlighting what has become part of my llife's work; that means so much to people all around the world who have had their lives changed for the better via etheogenic experiences. I have long valued the honesty and integrity of your programming. Tonight, you earned a subscriber here on RUclips.

You can take my experience as an example. Same story, nothing helped. until I tried my first psychedelic (psilocybin). it was like nothing else. even now after many years, I still take it occasionally, resets my moods and behaviour.
just go on www trufflemagic com and don't want for the GOV to give you permission to cure yourself.
Let me know how it goes.

One of the hard truths you will probably have to face is that you've got to take responsibility for your own life (a broad statement) because that want generally lies behind depression and anxiety. Since your state of mind is less than happy and you currently have no experience with psychedelics a safe environment and a knowledgeable trip sitter is needed to ensure that no harm comes your way through self-infliction. Other than that always do your own research, don't get caught and enjoy. Take care =)

I lived in Japan for 3 years and found that mushrooms were legal and took them about once a month at psytrance parties. They were very strong( hawaiians)(often lying on the ground at parties until the first wave have worn off) however the whole time I did them in Japan I don't ever remember getting depression where as when I came home depression and anxiety have played a bit of a factor in my life. The thing that is very difficult with mushrooms is getting the dose right. Not enough and they don't do much and then up the dose marginally and my god your away, for about 6-8 hours.

To be fair, shrooms are not some wonder drug that if you take it you're suddenly healed of everything mentally. Shrooms are like self therapy, you still have to put in work if you want change or self improvement. But the insight it can give in just a few hours can't compare to tradional therapy that could take years.

It will temporarily treat it for a few days. Your body and mind will calm down. It is the same effects as in after coming out of a swet lodge or after the affects of dmt. There is a peaceful feeling because of the relieved stress. The world seems brighter and happier.

PHD or no, these were rather primitive protocols. The results they want follow the "mystical experience". They seemed to actually avoid that.
They should either settle for microdosing for a month or for the mystical experience, start at 1/2 gram building up to the mystical dose (2-8 grams) after determining sensitivity.
