lol I wouldn't give this company a penny. They can't even sell the monitor without a $100 pre payment for something you won't get for a year, if even then. could you imagine going trying to get help via support or need a replacement? you would wait for eternity. I am not "placing an order" at full retail, you either have one to sell or you don't. Don't sell it if you don't have any stock.
We aren't taking pre-orders at this time, it's only up for sale on B&H. The first units sold out quickly, so they're currently taking pre-orders themselves for stock they have on the way, but with most payment methods you aren't charged until the item ships.
@@dough_tech well if you want us to believe monitors are actually available, how come you still haven’t shipped the 4K glossy I ordered in May of 2022?

Just recieved my Spectrum one with Gorilla Glass from BH to pair with my M3 Macbook. I wanted something that would be similar to my 5k iMac. One thing to keep in mind if you intend to use the USB-C: Set your Input setting to 'USB-C Bandwidth Priority'. Initially the monitor wasn't displaying anything from my laptop until I changed that setting. Second, the firmware is clunky and slow at times. Third, if you're worried about the ppi, I though this would be a problem but it's sharp. I think the glossy finish helps reduce perceived quality differences it and a retina screen. So far its awesome!
How is the monitor holding up now, after a month? I'm shopping around to replace my 27" LG 4K monitor with Thunderbolt support. This one is on my list.
@@nosleepbtw4670thanks for your question. The display is still great. There is one reason to choose the LG: when calibrating, LG works directly with calibrators whereas with the Spectrum you’ll be calibrating a picture profile on your computer to display. Another thing to consider, there is backlight bleed in the corners (compared to my iMac), but when working daytime I don’t notice it. Lastly, I would’ve tried to save up for an Apple studio display. I have an MacBook M3 Max, and when working with Davinci Resolve, there are UI problems, the mouse jumps around because it doesn’t quite register the non-native resolution. It becomes so unbearable to the point I switch back to Premiere.
We'd love to hear what Jerry has to say about it, but in our experience the difference is quite noticeable, especially with the reduced reflections on Gorilla Glass.
I got Spectrum One and there's one thing that I absolutely hate - every time I wake up my mac, then it takes around 10 seconds for the monitor to wake up. This also applies when I come back to the desk and plug the monitor into my mac. With other monitors it is around 2-3 seconds. This is so annyoing.
You CAN actually buy it now from third party retailers. When I was visiting New York I went to B&H specifically to check it out in person. I’m waiting for their upcoming 32” OLED spectrum black next year. Yes they have a shady history and I seriously wonder how many orders haven’t yet been fulfilled, but it doesn’t change that they make a great product that you can reliably buy now (however I’d never risk buying from them directly, it’s a shame and they should be called out on this. The amount of complaints I’ve seen of people never receiving their orders is unacceptable)
Two questions: where can I get this wallpaper, and what do you call this kind of graphic work that doesn't really have gradients with shadows, just solid colors all the way through?
I have a 4K LG Ultrafine 24 inch monitor which serves as a second monitor which I use with my 27 inch iMac. I run it at 1920x1080 resolution, i.e., four native pixels are combined into one effective pixel to be displayed. Window controls, text, etc. are slightly larger when compared to similar items that appear on my iMac screen but not to a large extent. However, everything appears sharper since the monitor is being operated at its native resolution. Operating at a scaled resolution does result in slightly less sharpness in the appearance of text, etc.
I have a thunderbolt 4 cable im using with my 2018 macbook pro(Sonoma) but the 144 hz isn't coming up an option in my mac settins. Anyone know if older macs aren't compatible?

What type of cable do you need to use to get the full 144hz + 4K + charging from your MacBook to the display?
A thunderbolt 4 or USB4 cable should suffice. I have heard of some people struggling with long versions (or active) of these cables with this monitor

higher hz monitors make motion look and feel smoother to use.
Whats is the best scaling resolution for mac on this monitor? Because on my 27 inch LG i cant get any resolution to work well.
For Mac it will look best at 1920x1080 so you get double pixels. Full 4k will make things too small for most users.
So if my 4K display is scaled at 1080p (I like it bigger), then I shouldn't lose on sharpness right ?
