That was quite wicked. I measure my current level of dedication based on how frequently I play my 8-strings which is unfortunately rarely, but that just gave me an idea and that's to finish painting my already prepped 10-string's body lol!
I'm waiting on an 8 string multiscale Floyd Rose so I can have a floating bridge high A string guitar instead of a fixed bridge low F# string. The Dean Rusty Cooley signature model had a high A but with a fixed bridge. Rusty's great technique and effective use of sweeps gave the high A maximum effectiveness. The high A is a bit brittle and shrill used on its own but is great in the context of a passage when used as a passing note. When I asked about a multiscale 8 string floating bridge, no response from Floyd Rose on it. A pity, as the high A tricks the ear by surprising it with high notes it isn't used to hearing, like a well-used Digitech Whammy pedal did in the 90s in many Pantera and Korn songs.
@@JustinDayIsAnExtraCoolGuy 8 string with a high A instead of a low F# so the A string can be pulled up to C# without breaking? Most high E strings I see break at about G-G#. The Rusty Cooley model was fixed bridge and fan fretted so the high A was 23.5" and the low B was 25.5". Ideally I would have mine tuned A E A D G B E A and would be able to use it with the same range of motion as a 6 string Floyd Rose. I don't like the low F# as it competes too much with the kick and bass in the mix.
Epic riff Leon, the rest of this comment isn't aimed at you. Double up the bass player with your 8 string guys, you'll add edge to it because of the different harmonic content. Seriously, think layers. Where your bass player can't get a lot of nuance and action in on the low strings you can provide that because you are a thinner sounding instrument down there. Harmonizing is a thing at that point as well with low bass notes for the same reason. Get rid of the bass player and see how fast those deep rich sounding lows disappear. Work with them, not against them when using an 8.
I’m looking into getting a modeler, heavily leaning towards fractal fm9.. although I have a question regarding the tone match feature, I know I wouldn’t be able to tone match with the fm9 but, can I use tone match presets from other creators? Any help from anyone is appreciated!
that slaps tbh
Fires bass player, takes savings and buys 8 string guitar.
pluralizes band name when finally solo
Jeez with my tiny hands, I'd need mountain climbing gear and a shurper to get across that fretboard 😮
sounds sick
Try it with the Fractal pitch follower!

Kiesel makes 8 strings with floating bridge. I have one

Djent N Roll 🤘
If you aren't playing Bleed when you get an 8-string in your hands, it's broken.
I prefer a 6+ string bass used melodically in the higher registers (think Obscura) to an 8 string's drone.
Internet’s greatest stank faces❤
Drop Z ?

It's pretty fun dialing in some sub bass stuff too - loads of overtones interacting and dancing
also enjoying the new davinci resolve update? 😄 tasty notes and filth as always Leon
😉

if the creator of the tone match exports it as a user cab ir, then you can import that and use it.
@@Simeon_Harris thanks for the response!
Please give us the Patch 😮😮
Fun, though, right?

What is the tuning on the 8th? G# or G?
