3:15 "5.5k is peak power, so 5.5k is what I'd shift". Just a word of advice to the owner, the reason why MIsha wanted to shift PAST the peak power is so that once you get into the next gear, you'll land just ON or just before the peak power. If you shift at 5.5k, your next gear will land you significantly under the peak power, which on an engine that needs revs to get going, is something you don't want.
I’m here for this comment, anyway peak power isn’t what you want anyway. You want to shift at the optimal point to where the revs are at peak torque for the next gear. If this guy is competing in this next year good luck to him shifting like he’s going to the shops lol
yeah most people fail to realise, gears are torque multipliers, my audi a4 1.8t feels like it falls off powerband at 5k, but actually its just the brain playing tricks with the feeling of boost tapering off, still faster revving it past that. Dynos only measure peak engine toqrue not the torque for all gears, hence why diff gears do nothing on a dyno but move the powerband sliggghhhtly. Handy tip: If you log Acelleration in G's over time and RPM you can work out exactly the best shift points not based just off feeling or dyno sheets.
I can never understand the owner wanting to film on their phone when there's already three cameras filming in the car? If you want to film your lap at least get a mount for your phone instead of holding it and filming the floor and dashboard 😂
I was about to say this, it always baffles me too seeing people struggling with phones when they should just enjoy it knowing there is multiple cameras capturing the lap already.
@@hansvader7515 I must add that the partially removed interior weighs about 30 kg, so even with lightweight Weds wheels and/or lighter exhaust, the total weight loss on that car cannot be 120 kg, as the owner claims... especially if we count the added parts (wing etc)
