Thank you for uploading these three quintets to You Tube. I doubt if either of the two local classical music radio stations here in southern California even know of the existence of Franz Krommer, much less play his music.

Krommer was a boheminan composer. The prresent quintet is written like the quintets of Mozart, a flute remplacing the first violin (lute, violin, 2 altos, cello). One cann se (and hear) that Krommer avoided to put the flute too much in evidence and that the coutrepoint between all the instrument is actual and efficient.
