I think in a lore sense, Vegeta having experienced the draw backs firsthand gives up on SS3. Decides to improve SS2 to a height that rivals SS3, possibly SS2 Full Power if you will.
Vegeta is also now the second only one with a canonical win in a fight while using SSJ3 as well now. The first being SSJ3 Goku vs SSJ2 Future Trunks in the DBS anime.

This whole episode was indeed a 10 out of 10 for me. Cause I honestly didn’t think that SSJ3 Vegeta was going to be canon in anime form, well it finally happened after all them years of not getting it. I’m man enough to admit I teared up a bit but was smiling for the rest of the episode.

There is also no real reason for him to use it in BoG either since the rage form he had against Beerus is counted as a separate one. So yeah he actually just surprassed SSJ3 in that moment.

They are retcooned a bunch of things on daima, but I think the reason is: they weren't things akira wanted from the start. Like, potara fusion only staying up for an hour (he didn't want to put vegito there) and battle of gods existed because dragon ball live action was really really bad. He didn't have the time to construct things the way he wanted, proof of that: super saiyan blue don't have a single win outside ressurection of F, and even there it only has one because of deus ex machina
I know it was corporate, legal, authorial stuff, but still, it irks me the wrong way that Vegeta didn’t go SSJ3 when Beerus slapped Bulma. Vegeta has NEVER been one to hold back when his family gets involved.

My problem with Daima and super it’s that they made it for like lil kids the fights are like watching Terra formas season 2 it’s just trash. They have to go to the DBZ style formula when it comes to the fights.
He ended this fight pretty quick in ss3 form so he didnt experience the draw backs, next time he uses it might be for a longer period of time and then he will suffer the draw backs of it
SS3 is a form specializing in sacrificing long term stamina for a 4x power boost over SS2. Despite Goku inventing the form winning quickly by vastly overpowering his enemy is rarely how Goku fights.
As a hardcore Vegeta Fan, i can't describe my happiness. No matter what anyone says, Vegeta is a genius. During the Namek and Android/Cell Saga he was immature, sure, but he always was a genius, when it came to fighting and reaching new heights. And i think, this proves it

Ssj3 is the most inefficient form so it is strange for vegeta to use this form especially as a child but it us cool. My complaint us the lack of muscles , even gotenks had muscles.
It’s not inefficient. Its a form meant to win fights quickly. Long term stamina isn’t important if you win within 5 minutes. It’s a form of last resort.

The man was always transparent about the fact that he lacked a grand vision for where his manga was going and most of the plot and lore he came up with on the fly. Asking a Toriyama written plot for internal consistency is pointless. If plot holes are a deal breaker for you, then he is the wrong author for you.
I think it's wrong to say that Vegeta went all out when he went Super Saiyan 3, he didn't. His arms were crossed most of the time. He was casual. And the freeze frame you have at 10:40 was Vegeta just floating there waiting to be attacked. Then he went pure defense, paying homage to when Future Trunks and Goku spared with Trunks sword and Goku's finger. I don't know if Vegeta has mastered the form, but that is one reason why Vegeta would use it. To master it like Goku never did. If Vegeta mastered the stamina drain nature of the form, he'd surpass Goku. And after the fight, Vegeta didn't look tired. He even went Super Saiyan again just out of frustration. He still had the stamina to keep going.
Vegeta's widow peak must be too strong for the hair to still be spiking up. Jokes aside can't wait to watch this once the English Dub comes out next year.

Vegeta never used ssj3 in battle of gods, because king kai told him that goku was defeated while using ssj3 that's why he never used it. When he went ssj2 against beerus that was because he was trying to defend his wife, he knew that beerus was stronger than him and defeating beerus was never his goal.
I love dragonball just as much as the next guy , but at the end of the day this is a retcone and and striaght up fan service. Thats all this show has been , sure this can fit in the timeline and a new form is always hype but persoanly kinda tired of it man it affcets the overall story that dragon ball was trying to tell in Z.

I'm very confused and hopefully someone can explain this to me. Why do people assume Super is canon with Daima? Episode 1 retconned how Kabito and Shin separated. Wouldn't that be enough say that Super didn't happen as far as Daima is concerned? Then there's the situation where the Demons are acting like the last thing that the Z Fighters did was beat Buu. No mention of Beerus or Zeno. No mention of Super Sayian God.... Since episode 1 I was convinced this is basically a new canon, a canon more in line with GT than Super. Am I wrong for thinking that?

@muukva I didn't forget about Nail but I wasn't sure if his ability to speak Namekian transfered, but you're definitely right about Bulma. She can absolutely speak it. I don't think that is on par with the Shin thing though. Super started with one explanation of just having the Namekian dragon wish them apart, then Daima starts with Buu having absorbed them to split them up. And what about Shin's connection to Beerus? Wouldn't Beerus and Whis be here since he's in danger? Then there the fact that they're acting like Buu was the strongest opponent they fought. I head you that there's be retcons, but these? These basically nullify Super completely as far as I can tell.
1. Because when they announced Daima they said it takes place right after the Buu arc but right before Super. This is why there is no mention of SSG or Beerus 2. They acknowledge Super directly by showing all of the Kaioshin that were shown in the Tournament of Power in Shins explanation of the Universe. 3. Shin and Kibito unfusing now doesn't contradict Super necessarily as they can simply fuse again at the end of the series. Frankly you are confused in thinking this is connected at all to GT. This is connected to Super which is the continuation of the DB story. Toyotaru announced at the recent Dragon Ball Con that he will continue Super and it is believed the events in Daima will be tied into a later arc in Super

Also, for the same reasons, Whis was not in the Buu Saga protecting Shin etc. Additionally, saying Shin and Kibito refusing and having to unfuse with the Dragonball is insane or a retcon before the show finishes is silly. It's an ongoing show. We have no idea what will happen. Buu can fall asleep like he did in the TOP and they use the Dragon Balls. Or Buu could simply refuse to do it again? There is no reason to assume it will not be addressed. And you can point to similarities to GT, many people are, but I don't think the shows are "connected" or alike really at all. Panzy and Pan or Goku being a kid could be funny omages or also just completely unrelated. It definitely feels like they are going back to OG Dragonball. I mean If you feel like it's "connected" and you think those similarities are sufficient then ok ig? That's your feelings. Lastly, even if somethings contradict/retcon something from Super (which nothing yet does), that doesn't mean Super isn't Canon with Daima. Z still has the most retcons and it's still canon with OG DB and later installments. Even events like Goku being a Sayian in the first place and having the ability to get "Zenkai Boost" is a bigger "where was this" than Vegeta having SSJ 3 and not using it. Or direct contradictions like in the OG Dragon Ball Z manga and anime Radtiz telling Goku that he was sent on a mission to conquer earth. Just for Toriyama in Dragon Ball minus and DBS Broly to show and state Goku was sent because Bardock had a premonition Frieza was going to do something bad etc. That change did not make the fight with Radtiz or Z non-canon. You just either have to make head-canon to explain the gaps like that maybe Bardock told Radtiz it was a mission and for some reason didn't want to tell him he was worried about Frieza?? Or maybe you just don't think about it too much? Lol. My point is even if Shin and Kibito don't refuse at the end (which I think they will), it wouldn't be a gotcha moment. We'd either just have to assume they refused at some point in-between the end of Daima and Super. Or just roll with it. Because Super is announced to be continuing and Daima is said to introduce relevant characters for upcoming arcs

Man I don’t care what anyone thinks at this point, Vegeta transforming into ssj3 was an incredible moment and he looked so darned badass in it and the fact that ssj3 is getting some spot light again is just amazing for me.
This is why the Vegeta fanbase has a bad rep as a bunch of whiners.
Their boi now has the only canonical SSJ3 W of the entire franchise, obtained entirely through personal merit, expertly animated by the best artists that ever worked in DB, and they still find things to complain about.

But then noticing that vegita’s story can be interesting using his background, toriyama made him the lovable character he is now at the planet Namik/Friza arc

Ssj3 is the most inefficient form so it is strange for vegeta to use this form especially as a child but it us cool. My complaint us the lack of muscles , even gotenks had muscles.
It’s not inefficient. Its a form meant to win fights quickly. Long term stamina isn’t important if you win within 5 minutes. It’s a form of last resort.
I'm sad that the thumbnail had to be the one to spoil me. Would have loved to watch this episode completely blind and be surprised by this epic reveal.

The man was always transparent about the fact that he lacked a grand vision for where his manga was going and most of the plot and lore he came up with on the fly.
Asking a Toriyama written plot for internal consistency is pointless. If plot holes are a deal breaker for you, then he is the wrong author for you.
I think it's wrong to say that Vegeta went all out when he went Super Saiyan 3, he didn't. His arms were crossed most of the time. He was casual. And the freeze frame you have at 10:40 was Vegeta just floating there waiting to be attacked. Then he went pure defense, paying homage to when Future Trunks and Goku spared with Trunks sword and Goku's finger.
I don't know if Vegeta has mastered the form, but that is one reason why Vegeta would use it. To master it like Goku never did. If Vegeta mastered the stamina drain nature of the form, he'd surpass Goku. And after the fight, Vegeta didn't look tired. He even went Super Saiyan again just out of frustration. He still had the stamina to keep going.
Vegeta's widow peak must be too strong for the hair to still be spiking up.
Jokes aside can't wait to watch this once the English Dub comes out next year.

Real fans of Dragon ball aren’t upset 💪 I am extremely happy as well Daima is Kino!!! Design wise it’s the “new” Toriyama art style that makes it different. Looks great! Super is as canon as GT meaning it’s a Gaiden.
Well Vegeta fans can no longer use that "SSJ3 is beneath him line", of course he'd go for that transformation.
Vegeta never used ssj3 in battle of gods, because king kai told him that goku was defeated while using ssj3 that's why he never used it. When he went ssj2 against beerus that was because he was trying to defend his wife, he knew that beerus was stronger than him and defeating beerus was never his goal.
I love dragonball just as much as the next guy , but at the end of the day this is a retcone and and striaght up fan service. Thats all this show has been , sure this can fit in the timeline and a new form is always hype but persoanly kinda tired of it man it affcets the overall story that dragon ball was trying to tell in Z.

I'm very confused and hopefully someone can explain this to me. Why do people assume Super is canon with Daima? Episode 1 retconned how Kabito and Shin separated. Wouldn't that be enough say that Super didn't happen as far as Daima is concerned? Then there's the situation where the Demons are acting like the last thing that the Z Fighters did was beat Buu. No mention of Beerus or Zeno. No mention of Super Sayian God....
Since episode 1 I was convinced this is basically a new canon, a canon more in line with GT than Super. Am I wrong for thinking that?

@muukva I didn't forget about Nail but I wasn't sure if his ability to speak Namekian transfered, but you're definitely right about Bulma. She can absolutely speak it. I don't think that is on par with the Shin thing though.
Super started with one explanation of just having the Namekian dragon wish them apart, then Daima starts with Buu having absorbed them to split them up. And what about Shin's connection to Beerus? Wouldn't Beerus and Whis be here since he's in danger? Then there the fact that they're acting like Buu was the strongest opponent they fought.
I head you that there's be retcons, but these? These basically nullify Super completely as far as I can tell.
1. Because when they announced Daima they said it takes place right after the Buu arc but right before Super. This is why there is no mention of SSG or Beerus
2. They acknowledge Super directly by showing all of the Kaioshin that were shown in the Tournament of Power in Shins explanation of the Universe.
3. Shin and Kibito unfusing now doesn't contradict Super necessarily as they can simply fuse again at the end of the series.
Frankly you are confused in thinking this is connected at all to GT. This is connected to Super which is the continuation of the DB story.
Toyotaru announced at the recent Dragon Ball Con that he will continue Super and it is believed the events in Daima will be tied into a later arc in Super

When I say connected I don't mean it leads into GT or anything. I mean it's basically making some of the events of GT canon. Including the things people hated about GT.
Now the rest of what you said, I didn't know about them so thank you for telling me. Like I said I was genuinely confused. However you're third point....yeah no. That doesn't work. If they were willing to have Buu absorb them and then spit them back out, there's no way they'd actually fuse again. And even if they for some insane reason did, they'd just use Buu again to unfuse. No matter what, that retcons using a wish to undo it. They'd have a much quicker and easier way to do it. Also it doesn't really address why Beerus wouldn't be here... because Shin is in danger. Almost got eaten by a giant sea monster. Shin dies Beerus dies. Yes, Beerus is asleep, but Whis isn't.
@blackromeoKOK Whis has never been there when Beerus was asleep. He wasn't in the Buu Saga when Shin was in danger. And it's unlikely that Whis or Beerus even know what Shin is up to without deliberately checking. And it was shown in the TOP that the angels don't really care about the God of Destruction dying. Also, for the same reasons, Whis was not in the Buu Saga protecting Shin etc.
Additionally, saying Shin and Kibito refusing and having to unfuse with the Dragonball is insane or a retcon before the show finishes is silly. It's an ongoing show. We have no idea what will happen. Buu can fall asleep like he did in the TOP and they use the Dragon Balls. Or Buu could simply refuse to do it again?
There is no reason to assume it will not be addressed.
And you can point to similarities to GT, many people are, but I don't think the shows are "connected" or alike really at all. Panzy and Pan or Goku being a kid could be funny omages or also just completely unrelated. It definitely feels like they are going back to OG Dragonball. I mean If you feel like it's "connected" and you think those similarities are sufficient then ok ig? That's your feelings.
Lastly, even if somethings contradict/retcon something from Super (which nothing yet does), that doesn't mean Super isn't Canon with Daima. Z still has the most retcons and it's still canon with OG DB and later installments. Even events like Goku being a Sayian in the first place and having the ability to get "Zenkai Boost" is a bigger "where was this" than Vegeta having SSJ 3 and not using it.
Or direct contradictions like in the OG Dragon Ball Z manga and anime Radtiz telling Goku that he was sent on a mission to conquer earth. Just for Toriyama in Dragon Ball minus and DBS Broly to show and state Goku was sent because Bardock had a premonition Frieza was going to do something bad etc. That change did not make the fight with Radtiz or Z non-canon. You just either have to make head-canon to explain the gaps like that maybe Bardock told Radtiz it was a mission and for some reason didn't want to tell him he was worried about Frieza?? Or maybe you just don't think about it too much? Lol. My point is even if Shin and Kibito don't refuse at the end (which I think they will), it wouldn't be a gotcha moment.
We'd either just have to assume they refused at some point in-between the end of Daima and Super. Or just roll with it. Because Super is announced to be continuing and Daima is said to introduce relevant characters for upcoming arcs
