@iknowhere The entire midsection (both preventing and causing lumbar flexion, rotation... pretty much everything), lats and grip. Not to mention that it's one hell of a conditioner.
Its good for breathing.but not really power. Use less swinging momentum, slam it on something solid to keep it controlled in which you will have to use your own power to lift it and slam it again. Rather than being bounced back and using the help of the tire to talk it up
I work sledges all the time, hundreds of strikes.and my key is to generate as much force as I can.that is using nothing but momentum, uterlly useless, trust me.
@FitnessForOldFarts yeah well the old dude we got hunts horses, kills and skins them bare handed. horses for the lean meat.. less fat more protein that way. so you tell your old dude where to stick it.
A FORTY POUND SLEDGEHAMMER!?!! Are you serious?! I'd imagine he would've lost that thing without gloves. Those stiff work gloves must've torn him up too. I think batter's gloves would work best. I don't know.
Doing a solid minute of swinging with a 10-12lb hammer is hard enough. Doing that with a 40lb must be brutal.
holy shit this guys a beast, and he's swinging that bitch without sliding his hands up
Great, especially with rhythm! I counted exactly 26 seconds both ways so timing was perfect.
He's not even sliding his hand up to the head. That is a very heavy and difficult work out. Good man, warrior!
I know some big old dude who used to swing the 40Ibs sledge in one hand.. his forearms were the size of my legs almost.
Bullshit
Interesting
That was very impressive. I take my hat off to that man
Nice work. And thank you for your service.
where do you get a 40lb sledge?
Davidson1873 amazon
Yo mom
You build it.
This workout really inspired me! Thanks!
pretty impressive ! Now I know what to work up to
@iknowhere

Bloody good work!
Much Respect...……!

this amplitude is the best one I^ve seen on Tube
thats some masterful stuff right there.
great training
Where can i find that 40 lb sledgehammer?
Yes Sir.
John Henry's rollin in his grave...
Very much so.
Where did he get that 40lbs hammer?
I'm worried about that guys rotator cuffs, ouch.
EXCELLENT! You Rock man! Btw, you Green Beret or Rangers?
You've got "Freakish" power! :) Wish I was strong like you..........
Awesome !!!
We’re did you get a 40lb sledgehammer??
I trained with a hammer 25lbs, it took me off ballance. If that was 40, that guy would fly sideways.
When the edge is heavy😂😂, really hard
so what exact muscles does this work?
it looks like a exhausting workout!
what do you think they work out,THE LEGS
basedgoat fuji They work out the shoulders/arms
E Hall hahaha..yeah,he works his legs
Core legs shoulders
Legs arms back but most importantly the heart. When someone’s heart rate is up their facial expression doesn’t lie.
Beastly. Nice job, sir.
Sweet. And I feel tough when I smash something with a 16 pounder lol.
beastly! ;p
@FlashmoreGash it's called encouragement, should try it some time
Where can you get a hammer that big?
You have one built
@@johnsoutherland3403 How? By whom?
good work
Holy hammer holy shit
Nope that's no way to swing a sledgehammer, there's no power in the swing.you need to slide the left hand down on the drive.
It's 40lb g, and he's holding at bottom to do swing do you understand how hard that is
Why even swing it then,if your going to work it like that
I work sledges all the time, hundreds of strikes.and my key is to generate as much force as I can.that is using nothing but momentum, uterlly useless, trust me.
Where are you now??
18 kgs is not easy, even with a 10kg sledge hammer repeating it non stop
is tiring after a minute
we need a few more good men for the chain gang :)
But that's not 40lbs.
Looks closer to 15-20lbs
are you in US Army?
would *that* not have been more effective with a lighter hammer?
Does this build big forearms?
It builds big everything; it’s a compound exercise
Ballistic.....
@FitnessForOldFarts yeah well the old dude we got hunts horses, kills and skins them bare handed. horses for the lean meat.. less fat more protein that way.
so you tell your old dude where to stick it.
Yeah good toy
@FitnessForOldFarts lol... best we leave those old dudes to it then.
We drive post with a 40lb sledge building boats house so imagine this but while standing over water on 2x6 while ya buddy is holding the post
Video proof would be appreciated.
