    I got this hammer like the end of November and I first used it on November 30th, after I watched this video. This technique definitely left me sore, however i enjoyed every bit of it.

    Excellent video and explanation of why this technique is important. I’m going start swinging the hammer your way, in addition to the “working style”. Thanks

      Thanks for the feedback Ted! I like the idea of doing both ways. No reason to be one dimensional. Get after it!

    What are you using hitting with the hammer. Tractor tires are expensive

    • @DaneWhitted
      @DaneWhitted  Год назад

      I'm using wood blocks with gym rubber flooring screwed to them. Also, places like tire shops will give away old used tires for free.

    You can also do this technique with a power rope medicine ball, what's great about this is if you're technique is off the ball will let you know right away.

    Hey is the hammer usable without the 25lb weight because im just stating getting back in shape and i head 8-10lb is the best for beginners but im not sure if thats true or not

    • @DaneWhitted
      @DaneWhitted  Год назад +1

      I believe it is useable without the plates on inside. I have never taken them off and tried though. You may want to grab a normal ten pound sledge from home depot and hit a tire until it becomes too easy. Then pull the trigger and the more expensive one.

      It has interchangeable plates on the inside. It is much larger than a regular sledge hammer.

    That's how I chop wood I guess I've been doing it the most inefficient way but I guess I'm getting a better work out

    • @DaneWhitted
      @DaneWhitted  2 года назад +1

      I don't think it's more inefficient. The way you and I do it can generate more power. And if you do use more power, you will spend more energy. However, the way we do it has a better power / energy ratio.

  • @teodormajewski3566
    @teodormajewski3566 2 года назад +1

    I've been blacksmithing a lot and Im gonna tell you that this as you called "athletic sport" swing is a working swing. Don't worry, you don't gona miss your target when working this way. And when chopping wood and doing rocks. The first one is athletic, becouse if you gonna work this way you gonna work only yourself. Hitting precisly worked material is easier your way, coz you are fresh.

    • @DaneWhitted
      @DaneWhitted  2 года назад

      Makes sense. I have never blacksmithed. But I have become extremely accurate swinging the hammer my way, and therefore I would probably still try to swing it "my way" if I was blacksmithing.
