Hello Dr, I wanted to check back with you about my shoulder, I went through 3 months of physical therapy and I still had pain the orthopedic Dr wanted to do surgery, my friend referred me to a Dr who uses PRP injections, I made and appointment after getting my MRI and when I visited with him he performed what he said was needling. It worked 💪 I can't believe that they wanted me to get surgery. I'm now doing your recommended exercises and my shoulder feels fine . Thank you
The first thing to remember is that surgery is how orthopedic surgeons and their employers make lots of money. Approach every recommendation with that knowledge and understanding and let that be the context in which you make your choices There are times when surgery is absolutely necessary and should be done as soon as possible. But generally, there are other things to try first. Those things may only take you so far or they may not last, but they might. Committing to surgery is like losing your virginity... you can almost always wait till later, but don't trust others to make the decision for you. Once done, there's no going back. This coming from someone who has had surgery on every limb and my back, but only after I knew every potential and had exhausted every alternative, and had thoroughly researched and questioned the doctor I was signing up with.
Dr Ennis great videos, short exercises that evweryone van do THX how often do you come across Post exercise Hypotension events ? I HAVE THIS & am trying to minimize the events but still play old timer hockey (i'm 73)
@@drkristieennis blood pressure drops to 80/52 on average values after playing hockey for 1.25 hours - it can be scheduled as I sit & wait for the event of lightheaded, light to medium blurred vision, & then different degrees of "whiteout", as described in Mayo & Cleveland Clinics. Whiteout stops within 15 seconds & only slight headache afterward
Hi Doctor I was wondering what’s your opinion regarding lifting weights. Do you think it’s better to do in general regarding pains? Or can it be dangerous? I love lifting weights but I’m afraid it wil worsen my neck and back pain
If you're having pain, listen to your body. Don't use weights to eliminate pain. Instead, start with mild stretches and watch your form. Do these as frequently as you can, building and conditioning your body. Add weights when you want to start building muscle tissue, but start small and then add repetitions. Back up those reps when you increase your weights. Slow but steady wins the race.

You’re welcome! This is not something I see very often but I have had a few patients with this. Is there an underlying medical cause?
