I watched the original SO many times as a kid, LOVED "The REAL Ghostbusters" cartoon. When I heard that bit of the original music my heart jumped, then the gunner seat pops out & I'm dead. IIRC GB didn't have the gunner seat on the car, that was added in GB2, so that's cannon. I seriously wonder if the 80's cartoon will be referenced at all, where Slimer was helping them out as an ally. I now have a strong urge to watch all the cartoons again, in order, as an adult to get all the jokes that went over my head back then. I'm pretty sure the firehouse playset is still somewhere in my mom's basement, with the fire pole that has a platform to put the action figures, but every time they try to ride it down, they spin too hard & fly off sideways. It had a grid on the roof for dripping slime down on everybody, there was a Slimer toy that would spit it out, but we only used that maybe once because it was such a pain to clean up.
You can tell simply from this trailer that this is going to be 100X better than the 2016 reboot. It's all in the tone, as well as the superior effects. The 1984 and 1989 films were extremely funny, but they were never constant gag-fests. The jokes worked so well because they realistic responses to all the weirdness happening in this otherwise normal world.
I believe it will be the Architect or Shandor as the main villain, they want to bring back Gozer because it would be repetitive, this will be shandor or the architech

Same here but when you think about it,all of the original Ghostbusters are(or were,in the case of Harold Ramis) old enough to be grandfathers.Some of them ARE grandfathers(I don't know if Dan Aykroyd has grandchildren but the other three do). But I am curious about Egon being anyone's grandfather.I talked about this with someone else on a site that I'm a member of.There was never any indication in any of the movies,cartoons,comics,whatever,that Egon had any kind of interest whatsoever in women. He clearly wasn't into men,either and he always just came across as asexual to me.In fact,I wouldn't have been surprised if the character were a virgin well into his middle age,like how The Unabomber,Ted Kaczynski, was a virgin at 53 when he got caught in 1996. Knowledge and science were Egon's true love,so unless the character was living a double-life or got involved with someone after the events of Ghostbusters 2,it doesn't really add up that he would be anyone's grandfather. I know it's just a movie but if you're applying logic to it as a work of a fiction,then it doesn't make sense that someone like that would ever have been in a relationship with a woman and have kids of his own,never even mind his own children having children.
They never killed Gozer, only banished it back to its dimension. It's possible the banishment was incomplete and that Gozer managed to find a way back to our dimension even without the building's specifications in the first movie.

In many ways I respect the fact that the trailer doesn't spoil much but it's difficult to get excited when we haven't seen the original cast yet or anything that exciting for that matter. Peter: Yeah, yeah, look, let's just get to the Destructor part so we can kick your Prehistoric Ass back to Kingdom Come... again! And, this time, no marshmallow people! Aykroyd is definitely in it. The last trailer ended with him answering a call in a comic book shop. Also Annie Potts is in it as well as the grandmother. Hopefully we get Ernie Hudson and even Bill Murray but I doubt he will be in it because he is the reason a #3 never happened.

Saw the movie. If you're a fan of the original, I would recommend you disconnect form the internet now. The movie was great, IMO, and would just add you are better served if you stop gathering any info until you see it. The internet can ruin lives, and it can also ruin movies you have yet to see. It's out. We've waited almost 2 years. This IS a movie worth the price of admission at the theater. If you like Ghostbusters from 1984, you will also like this one.
This movie totally makes up for that 2016 abomination garbage re-make. Very impressed with the continued story line - although some of the plot was quite predicable. Great movie!

They don't, but the constant theme with the Ghostbusters is that, unless one was THERE in New York for the events of tje two movies, it quickly became heresay or conspiracy theory fodder.
Using kids to replace the original adult Ghostbusters was a clever move. Makes total sense for an 80s throwback flick and of course it surfs on strangers things wave. I foresee a box office homerun

The only thing that concerns me here is that we technically haven’t seen any Ghostbusters in this trailer…
Aykroyd is definitely in it. The last trailer ended with him answering a call in a comic book shop. Also Annie Potts is in it as well as the grandmother.
Hopefully we get Ernie Hudson and even Bill Murray but I doubt he will be in it because he is the reason a #3 never happened.
@Baba Ganush for me, the first 2 films Ghostbusters are professional pest controllers with the pests being ghosts. When I was a kid in the 80’s I wanted to be a ghostbuster “when I grew up”. So now we’re saying that kids can be ghostbusters as it’s just a hobby sort of thing that anyone of any age can do?…
@@ryandeffley7652 I can see the old ‘retired’ ghostbusters are in this but I don’t think that’s really the main driving force behind this film. It’s the kids which takes away the profession of ghost busting to me…

Harold Ramis died in 2014 at Age 69. Assuming Egon's daughter was born in the 1990s, she could easily have tween kids by now.
He could have been a father before the original movie. There was no origin of him.
Also, he could’ve adopted an adolescent child.
Saw the movie. If you're a fan of the original, I would recommend you disconnect form the internet now. The movie was great, IMO, and would just add you are better served if you stop gathering any info until you see it. The internet can ruin lives, and it can also ruin movies you have yet to see. It's out. We've waited almost 2 years. This IS a movie worth the price of admission at the theater. If you like Ghostbusters from 1984, you will also like this one.

This movie totally makes up for that 2016 abomination garbage re-make. Very impressed with the continued story line - although some of the plot was quite predicable. Great movie!

I really hope they explain why it seems everyone has amnesia about the events from the first two movies.
They don't, but the constant theme with the Ghostbusters is that, unless one was THERE in New York for the events of tje two movies, it quickly became heresay or conspiracy theory fodder.

Using kids to replace the original adult Ghostbusters was a clever move. Makes total sense for an 80s throwback flick and of course it surfs on strangers things wave. I foresee a box office homerun

what is funny is that I have had the ghostbusters siren on my phone as my wife's ringtone for 4 or 5 years now. now when ever I watch a trailer, I always think I should answer the phone!
