  • In November of 2012, just four days after my boss Carolyn Rafaelian purchased Belcourt for $3.6 million, I was allowed a quick visit (with my Canon 5D Mark II) to take a look around the place.
This is what I shot. It's an interesting first look at the house before the restoration began later that year.

Thank you David. Time for Belcourt to remember the 56 years that put the Belmont castle into history that cannot be erased. Harle Tinney

We honor the Tinney family on our guided tours, and we are always open to having you come by and tell us your stories! I have read your books but it’s not the same as hearing it from you in person at Belcourt!

Great pictures!! My mother and I toured this house when the Tinney family lived there. We were standing at the foot of the stairs listening to the guide when a man with long hair came up behind us and smiled and said- excuse me. We moved to let him pass and just after that , the tour guide pointed out a Tinney family portrait and that guy was in the painting. We looked at each other like 😯 we just saw him. It was cool.

Every Halloween until my Mom began her cancer treatments we would go on The Ghost Tour. My mom was a skeptic. Well I held my hand over the Salt Chair my entire body cramped up. It took two people to move me out of the way. My mother saw me and she gasped. As soon as I got far enough from the chair I was fine. Sadly my mom lost her battle with cancer in 2011.

A wonderful fresh, haunting look at Belcourt Castle! I found wonderful stories about life there in the Gilded Age in the book "Fortune's Children: The Fall of the House of Vanderbilt". This stuff beats Downton Abbey!

Hello I was in the mood to watch Haunted videos today...boo 👻👻
I could be wrong but I don't think so, seems as if you got FOOTSTEPS and a dark shadow right after the Great Hall picture, were you alone? It's right around 1:20 seconds.
Perhaps I'm wrong but I watched it a couple times... just as you switch frames of pictures look at the grandfather clock there's a dark shadow that goes to the left you see it and you hear footsteps and then you see a shadow on the wall and it walks into the Vase 😳😳
    What do you think????
