I’d learned to played Akuma in Street Fighter Alpha 3 and it was the year of 1999; I was a 10th grader Sophomore of High School that time when the game was out. I started to loved Akuma when he transformed into a Shin Akuma while playing Evil Ryu and beats him twice on Sega Dreamcast. Over the years Akuma become more popular from fighting games has created it.
This video taught me a lot about Gouki. I’ve always liked the Buddhist and Shaolin inspired ideas behind characters like Gouken Ryu and Akuma. It reminds me of fist of the North Star.
I like how you explained the raging demon technique, if the power of the technique depends on how evil they are. The canon storyline of Akuma killing Bison actually makes a lot of sense, kind of like it was destined to happen.

Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist...if you are a SF fan...see it!!! And sidenote: Gotetsu never taught Akuma or Gouken the full technique. Akuma found the sacred notes hidden in the dojo. He studied (and mastered) the Satsu-no-Hado against Gotetsu's warnings...
Terribly underrated mini-series/film. Unfortunate that it's sequel, Resurrection, somehow managed to have twice the budget yet not be even half as good as Assassin's Fist. Kinda killed any chance of a third entry. I think it was the understated use of special effects that made AF feel so authentic. Resurrection went Dragonball and it wasn't a good look. 😅
Akuma is my favorite character. I strongly believe he is the strongest of all fighting game martial artist. He even fought and stood against the devil final form of tekken in his base form. Just imagine how destructive he could be im shin or oni form

In Street Fight 4 and 5, they put the statues are in the one of field stages to pay homage to his creation. Akuma's Raging Demon reminds me of Ghost Rider's Penance Stare.
I always felt there was a familial connection between Ryu and Akuma by how Akuma always seemed to have an interest in Ryu and always tried to lure him to the proverbial Dark Side. To me it would be interesting to have Akuma wrestle with wanting Ryu to join him but also kill him because Ryu also represents a part of him that died many years ago when he ceased to be Gouki.
EGM is to be thanked. Akuma is the result of an April fools joke in a magazine called EGM April 1992 where they claimed there was a Sheng Long boss in SF2 vanilla
Yup, I had that issue of the magazine in my mailbox and believed it to be true back then when I was 11 years old. Later on, Akuma came out and killed Bison in SSF2 Turbo. Arcades were on fire with this game back then.
Fun theory. Akuma's Wrath of the Raging Demon, is inspired by a Metallica song. 🤘Seak & Destroy. Physically it's exactly what he does. But on top of that he shouts "Die one thousand deaths!" a paraphrase of the song lyric "Running, on our way, hiding, you will pay, dying, one thousand deaths-ah!" 🤣. Now. Not a "dark" secret, but has there been any light shed on why he calls Kasumi from Tekken 7 "Master" and how or why she saved him? Great video by the way. Pretty comprehensive. 👍

Father & Son, I don't know for sure but that movie came out I think around 2004 or 2005. I never seens a MK vs SF game or Anime. That doesn't even exist. Unless it's Mugen.
A lot of fans hated that idea when the OVA hinted at it. But a decade later, I rewatched it and thought about it more. Even though the OVA is not canon, someone on Capcoms end HAD to approve the script.

Thanks to these vids, now I feel like making a new character on Final Fantasy XIV based on Akuma. Starting on the Pugelist class than evolving into Monk with darker skin and red eyes. I would also give him the emperor's weapon glammer to make the knuckle weapons disappear as if only using ACTUAL fists!!!!!

the dark hardo was done and used by Sakura she is the only one that has done it before and experienced happiness and complete joy while under the dark hardo she is the only one that has used it and has felt this way and she doesn't know how she did it and I believe she hasn't been able to since then but not sure if she has used it again but she in canon will get stronger than all her friends and maybe even Ryu

How can you think Akuma isn't evil? He killed his master who taught him off the Dark Hado and nearly killed his brother. If the dark Hado punishes the negative karma of whom it is inflicted upon then what does that say about Goutsetsu and Gouken? The dark power supposed to consume its user. akuma's teacher was not overcome by it and his brother rejected it outright.
You know Akuma is strong when he can crash into another game franchise's canon.

Akuma didn't actually kill him tho, it was Ryu in the end with the power of Nothingness, Gouken's technique.

the dark hardo was done and used by Sakura she is the only one that has done it before and experienced happiness and complete joy while under the dark hardo she is the only one that has used it and has felt this way and she doesn't know how she did it and I believe she hasn't been able to since then but not sure if she has used it again but she in canon will get stronger than all her friends and maybe even Ryu

How can you think Akuma isn't evil? He killed his master who taught him off the Dark Hado and nearly killed his brother. If the dark Hado punishes the negative karma of whom it is inflicted upon then what does that say about Goutsetsu and Gouken? The dark power supposed to consume its user. akuma's teacher was not overcome by it and his brother rejected it outright.
