    I was previously in nursing school and withdrew due to financial reasons. I said I wanted to go back through the military and do practical nursing. At least they’ll pay for it. Nursing school is hard, you just have to stay focused. I couldn’t do that while working full time to pay bills and a single parent. The army has many benefits as well

      Sorry for the late response but I totally agree! The other day I was taking care of a patient whose wife is going back to school to finish her nursing degree ( she's 58). Its never too late!

    I’m glad I was able to see something updated about 68C. I plan on reclassing and I have a family. I have to retake my BSEP test but after that I can submit my packet

      Pat Johnson congratulations on your decision to reclass! I had to do the same thing BESP before hand, and believe me it helped a lot. I went from a GT score of a 95 to a 113. Best of luck and don’t give up! Also I’d look into the AECP I talked about that on one of my other videos. Check it out!

    Hi, where do prior people (spc) live in phase 1, and 2 or throughout the AIT? I head priors still get put into 50 men single room just like in basic. Thanks.

    • @senditmedia6425
      @senditmedia6425  5 лет назад +2

      you will be in 2 man rooms in the prior service building by the old hospital in phase 1. Phase two will vary: if you are married, you will live off post or housing, single soldiers will live in the barracks, there are 5 sites so I am not sure how each base function

    Where there any college credits you received from this course, if any? How well does LPN transfer over to civilian side, and has it helped you further in becoming an RN?

    • @senditmedia6425
      @senditmedia6425  4 года назад +1

      sorry for the late response, I was in the middle of moving. It depends on the college and what they will accept. My college did not accept my A&P so I had to do it over again. The Charlie program suggest you should get over 40 credits! At the end, you get your LVN license through the state of TX. As long is other states accept your license, you should be able to transition easily! Being an LVN will definitely give you experience and a jumpstart on becoming a RN. There are minimal differences on what an RN can do that a LVN cannot.

  • @BryceHerring11
    @BryceHerring11 5 лет назад +1

    Idk if you mentioned it in the video but how were you treated as prior service? Like were the NCOs cool towards you? Like where’d you stay and other stuff? I just reclassed to 68C and I’m married. So any info on that will help! I appreciate it!

    • @senditmedia6425
      @senditmedia6425  5 лет назад +1

      Great questions! They gave prior service most of their privileges in phase one, you will have to go to formation when need be. When I was there in 2017, I was able to drive, go off post and do what I want, so long as I make it to class and formation. You will have to do PT with the company , but if you get 90’s in the 3 events for the pt test , it’s pt on your own. Since you are married, your spouse will not come with you to fort Sam. You will be staying in the prior service quarters.
      PHASE 2 may be different: as mentioned before, there are 5 sites, my site was in fort lewis, WA. They were a bit more strict on the prior service (ie) had to march with the soldiers and live in the same quarters at the IET’s. We were allowed to drive. You are married so you will live off post when you get to your phase 2 site
      Overall the NCOs and phase one and two were coo Keith prior service, just don’t get in trouble and pass all your classes.

    I’m a prior service 68x and I have already signed my contract to reclass but I’m starting to reconsider. Reason being, I don’t know when they will send me and I’m getting kinda old lol I’m 25 so I want to start right away. Would it be best to just go to a civilian lpn school and use my GI bill?

    • @senditmedia6425
      @senditmedia6425  5 лет назад

      Well you are definitely not too old! I had a 40 year old in my class. To be quite honest with you, If you want to stay in service and continue with your nursing skill, enlisted is not the way. Reason being is once you become a NCO, you will be doing less nursing skill and more NCO tasks, ( soldiers, counseling, and other additional duties). If you want to stay in than you can do the AECP that I mentioned in the video. Its green to gold for nursing basically. Or another route would be to get out and use your GI bill. So it real boils down to what is your long term goal. Stay In and do 20 year? or get out. BUT please stay tuned because I will be post my next video on AECP and details about it.
