Hey guys thanks for the advice I’m in reception for the 68 Charlie ait course currently. We’re in dorms right now. So I guess that has changed since you’ve been here. We’re allowed to go the gym and px but only the one across the street from us. It’s drill sergeants now but they’re amazing. I can’t wait to start the course with them. Wish me luck!
Amazing! Army AIT in the 70's was civilial clothes first day and we had Beer vending machines in the barracks. You could go anywhere as long as you were back for class.
I'm in AIT in phase 2 as a delta. But current 68C and 68Deltas will be sent to 188th med BN at fort Sam. That is were both chariles and Deltas will do phase 1 they will move to a phase 2 sites after about 11 to 12 weeks. For those who wonder about privileges it's very relaxed but you will get a lack of sleep, and due to the privileges given most people fail out due to having to much fun and not studying. Also 188th is currently saying with 232 Delta company in 3 man dorms

Sucks how they didn't give you another chance, I failed the 2nd to last test during 68D AIT but they gave me and one other guy one last shot after our CO intervened. been out 2 years now and finishing up my CRNA certification. Best of luck man.
Unfortunately, my granddaughter just backed out of her Army contract literally one week before shipping out to Ft Sill basic training (and before taking the oath) because her recruiter lied to her. She has a 4 yr med degree (but no license) and was told she would go into 68c school right out of Basic, as her asvab score was high enough (I don't know what it was). She was told they had gotten a spot for her there and everything. Well, she had to go see her recruiter about another issue last week and was then told she would have to apply to 68c after she had enlisted. As you may know, the 68c MOS is a highly prized classification and very difficult to get into. Some applicants wait months/years for a spot and many never get in. She is heartbroken, and her enthusiasm and trust in the Army has deteriorated, as you may correctly guess. So she has decided to look for other ways to become an LPN (actually she want's to be a PA). So for anyone else out there thinking about being a 68c, there's no guarantee you'll get into the program. At the very least, be prepared for a long wait.

Im not military but i am a civilian medical assistant and a phlebotomist, during my ma school i studied up on pharmacology, anatomy and physiology. 7 years later with experience i plan going back to school to eventually try out for med school to become a rural physician
You should do one of these type of videos for 25B(I know you talked about it in a previous video) maybe how to prepare for it, I’m a senior in high school so it would be cool to know what to do and expect Also some tips would be helpful

Back in the 1960's when I was active duty (WAC) there was a program called Stripes for Skills - if you enlisted and were already an LPN/LVN - you went from basic to Ft Sam and did 4 weeks of basic med just to learn paperwork and how to handle the military and then you were an E-5. Not sure that program still exists.
I know it was already mentioned in the video, but since I don't have much experience/knowledge in the medical field (since I'm joining straight after highschool) what are some subjects I should review before entering AIT for 68c?

I’m to a CNA or tech nurse I want to do either LPN or 68W once I join the army I’m inspire to become a doctor but I’m looking at at how hard the 53 weeks will be hmm 🤔 but im thinking it’s free versus a 30,000 LVN program I don’t won’t debt.
Do you get to choose your phase 2 location? Also, is there any time between basic and air to spend with family before flying across the country (in NC)?
Phase 1 is 12 weeks, the new 68C group is living in the new nice dorms with the whiskies, not in the old barracks at C Co 188th. There’s more freedom there and you can workout at the gym anytime after class or on the weekends starting from day one. Also the job of 68C is not all that glamorous, I chose to get out after cleaning an uncircumcised penis of its yeast. It’s not for everyone, long hours and sick people everyday, you are not guaranteed to be in a hospital, you could be with a line unit or a CSH Unit, which would make u a line medic. You could also work night shift schedules of 7pm to 7AM up to 5 days a week including weekends and holidays. Just a warning to anyone being sold on the glamour of the job, PLEASE feel called to “nursing” and want that more than anything, because this is not just a nursing field, it’s what the army tells you to do in the nursing field.
War_on_poverty yes I reclassed to a 91b mechanic - 80% of all 68c will be tied to a combat support unit (most likely infantry/ordinance units) and will be doing the field training and working along side the whiskeys. Buddies of mine still in it are going to the range each weekend for combat readiness training. It’s the new army brother!
War_on_poverty I highly recommend 68d - everyone I knew who did that route was much happier and they do not want to reclass. Surgery is an incredible skill as well, much better than @$$ wiping as a 68c. If that’s what’s on your heart I say go for it you will have a much better long term career.

So I currently working on my pre-req for the LPN program here at my local college. I am so back and forth as to if I should just finish school (I’m 27) and then join. Or if I should join the reserves then finish school and when I’m done transferring to active duty. I get that I’m a little older so I don’t want to wait too long. What do you think would be the best option?

Nutrition Specialist #1 the 68M is about to transition to the new cooks of the army, if you truly want to work with nutrition in the army you should get a degree as a dietician or something similar, and then you will be able to go in as an officer and have more of a role in the field you desire.
So I have a question, I am looking into joining the Army as a reservist in high school but eventually I would like to try to switch to Active Duty infantry. Is it even possible? I asked my recruiter but he never gave me a clear answer. Also thank you Matt for the videos I've been watching them for days lately
NotSoRoyal you can do split ops if you’re a junior in high school. You go to basic in the summer, come back for senior year, and then go to ait when you graduate high school. I don’t think you can be in the reserves while attending hs (9-10).... unless you’re doing split ops. When you graduate ait (if you enlisted as reserves) you go back to your unit and drill, you can go active from there if your unit releases you from your contract. If your main goal is to go active you can still do split ops and go active duty after you graduate high school and AIT.

You must have missed the parts where 68C has a 60% failure rate as well as me saying at the beginning that he is the best person I know to talk about 68C AIT. He gives great tips and talks about things that you will learn at 68C AIT which is 53 weeks long in total and he went though 52 weeks before failing the last test. You learn from failures and mistakes so having somebody who didn't just breeze through AIT actually is BETTER in many ways because they will discuss the parts that are harder. If I had somebody who was previously a nurse and then went to 68C and thennn I did a video with them on it, the video would be more of "it was easy" rather than in this video where he talked about some of the struggles. So, yes it does make sense.

No you dont choose your phase 2 site. Depends on your class number and your score in the class.

You can go ahead finish CC look into joining reserve in summer and also try ROTC.

I didnt pass because I didnt do these tips. I chased videography and actually hated being a nurse.
