Wow, great footage. Been wanting to get up there for a while. When Spring comes I'm gonna point my van northwards and enjoy all that great scenery and the beer, of course.
What an interesting and so different view to have of such an iconic placel. I bet that all rail enthusiasts will be surpised by the great overview only such drone footage actually gives. You wanna keep up the good work and offer your skills to all different potential interested people who know of such interesting places, not only railway sites. I have seen other drone footage shot all over the world but the majority of footage isn't as smooth and flowing thus doesn't keep one's attention as well as your film has. Well done and Thanx a million for sharing your artwork with us none drone flyers. Have a pleasant and enjoyful Christmas
Thanks for this, the aerial view gives a great perspective. Stuff like this is also great inspiration for model railway building. I remember going to Steam Town about 40 years ago when I was 10 and seeing Flying Scotsman and Sir Nigel Gresley amongst others. Shame the museum is no longer open.
considering how mi6 it is with wcrc this is one of the best views seen in years. nice vid. edit: not saying they HAVE to share anything but y'know it's mega rare anything is heard from the place regarding locos/stock lol
I remember my childhood, many days of school holidays spent at Steam Town. I even got to drive Sir Nigel there once to the coaling stay from the shed. OK told to pull that then push it back. It was also the home to 4472 a few black fives along with other things. It was a long walk round the roads from the station but was told of a short cut from one of the staff at Carnforth. Happy days.
What a excellent video nice to see it you don't realise how big the place is untill you get a video like this I'd love to model this on my model railway 👌👌👌👌cheers Paul
I dread to think how long some of that rolling stock has been there.....surely a lot of scrap amongst that lot. The drone view certainly shows how big this place actually is. Would love a visit round that depot, just to see some of the withdrawn locos and also inside the main diesel shed. Nice one.

It would really be good to visit the site and see what goes on behind the scenes. Nice footage of our horse behind the loco shed

Lots of scrap locos as you approach on the train
They should do a open day one day only am sure the hole of England would turn up and take a look??
That looks an amazing place. Can you look round it in person
Unfortunately not - There are private tours occasionally however no public access.
This could be one of your most watched Ariel films yet as WCRC are more secretive than the KGB when it comes to what goes on at Carnforth.
It’s a private sector company. Nothing wrong with the owner and employees keeping it private.
It’s not that secretive, there are six organsied tours around the site every year.
My thinking too. I went there last year on a job and was told not to take photos of anything
