I was once held outside a terminal station, waiting for an empty platform to bring my passenger train in, but the main problem, as logistics and rosters found out was, that i was waiting for the train that i am booked to take out to leave before i can get in. I knew what was happening as my working service sheet was in front of me, but i decided it was their muck up as i couldn't be in two train cabs at the same time and sat and ate my sandwiches, until my radio cab phone rang and a signalman asked who i was. I told them that as far as i could see, i was waiting for myself to take the train in platform three out, so i could bring the train i was sitting in, into platform three. Eventually a spare driver appeared who took my train out into a siding, so i could enter station and was met by a red faced train crew supervisor, who apologised to me for my own delay. This was about1995, Charing Cross. London.
Hello Frank, retired Stoke Gifford, Penzance Shunter here. I worked with an Exeter Driver at Pz, Stan Pope. He told me he was on holiday and catching a train up North from Exeter, in rolled the Train Class 50, he was waiting with his Wife for 15 mins, no Driver to relieve the Penzance man, so Stan went into the office and was told someone had forgotten to roster a Driver, so Stan worked the train to Bristol, his Wife inside on her own. Sadly not with us now.
Good video the grid was kicking out some nice clagg and some busy movements in that place I will have to take a mooch up and have a look soon and take a ride up from Manchester!
I saw 67007 at the lbgt pride weekend in Brighton on the 6-7/8/22 with the balmond pullman along with 67024 spoke with the driver onboard and walked the entire pullman I had such a blast of a weekend and a lovely look around the pullman train it’s kick started my interest for the railways working on it. 😊 I can’t wait to see where my journey takes me next.

I love it how the proud British nation always claim that they've won the war, yet their great railways have been invaded by the DB (Deutsche Bahn) or German Railways🤣🤣. No offence, but it's a bit funny to see the DB logo on a British locomotive

@@JimWhitaker Alright mate.
Love the driver of the 67 just casually waiting it out whilst eating his sandwich - clearly not his first rodeo

Yes they do seem to have a minor problem with a distinct lack of space.

Great video - nice to see it busy. Great to see the 56 too.
Great little video. Love all the various bits of action going on, and to see Burton so busy
Right place, right time. Well done
Awsome clag from the 56
Interesting video, thanks.
Fascinating video, a lovely catch. Thank You for uploading!
Cool vid. Thanks. Live Action everywhere! 👍👍
Top catch! Plenty to see at least his location, so few spots with any freight workings near me.
That 67 looks good in its purple overcoat 😊
Stunning capture, love the modern technology used to repair matters. Methinks the place might be suffering from capacity issues?
Not sure tbh - Recent temps might have played a part also.

It’s the road bridge at Wetmore Junction - About a mile north of the station.
Purple sits well on a 67.
great video
Shame Jase don't still work at Nemesis, he would have sorted it quicker..
Wouldn't be surprised if it was just a hot weather metal expansion problem.
ESP with the hot temperatures
Great footage, I haven't seen 47744 around there recently, I wonder if it's inside?
3:00 Can't be stuck if its liquid.
so the loco got stuck IN the Frog?
So, what WAS the actual problem ? Was that a jack or a welder they rolled to the site ? Was it a derail, or was it the frog flangeway got too tight ?
Clearly welding set, gas bottle and oxygen bottle.
Nice catch indeed!!!
Do you know if those locos behind the gronks are awaiting overhaul?
Liam
Yes - They’re awaiting overhaul. There is a class 37, 45 and 73 in the shed being worked upon at present.

everything is scrapped nowadays....
Is the brown 67006 a unit from the Royal Train? I see The Coat of Arms and an ER plaque on her?
Yes - Thats one of the locos used for Royal Train service.

What the hell did they need to weld or cut to get that moving ? Me thinks something fell off the Gronk ?
In 1969 this took two men and a block of wood to resolve a derail shunt!

It wasn't derailed !
Is that a piece of (un?)intentional rhyming slang? ;-)
Is the steel still delivered in the VGAs over the other side or has all that finished ?
It still runs occasionally. Along with more regular spoil traffic from I think the London area
