Taureor the ASUS TUF is probably the best motherboard in its generation all round, but Jesus if they could get rid of that ugly color scheme (TUF symbolism everywhere, ala yellow) and replace the LAN I would have gotten it.
@@ICCUWANSIUT that's comforting to hear, I assumed I was the only one with a grudge against the TUF color scheme. But it otherwise suits me perfectly enough that I'll get it. I think the Primes look great, but I need the extra SATA, and a USB-C.
bro, same I swear i've looked at so many motherboards and I can't find any. I tried a b450 pro max and it wasn't compatible, I had to order a cpu installation kit to get it to work at all, but I decided it would be easier to just find another motherboard. I was dead wrong. If talking budget? go with the MSI B450M PRO VDH MAX - supports the R9 3970x It's a Tomahawk with 1 less PCIE slot - for $40 to $50 less .. that's a lot .. spend that on a better CPU
I’ve had this board for sometimes (play the Overclocking with it) and it that’s a beating but keeps on ticking. The only thing I have is wish I had a few more USBs on it.
I really don't understand why this channel has such few subscribers; I believe it worth 10 times more than now. Such amazing informative videos. Best of luck Gamers Nexus.
I have it, can confirm. But it's not that hard to figure it out, just that hardwareinfo gives out some weird readings and some correct ones. Idk about other software but it could be worse there. And you don't get too many voltage options in the BIOS either

Its a confused board. Its got a great VRM, a ton of PCIe slots which is great for creators, and has great memory support but only has 6 SATA slots. Its no use to gamers (too many features) and its no good for creators, (too few SATA features). Go figure...

You guys saved me a ton of research on Z390 boards when I was looking for my ITX build and now you are doing the same here. Looking to pick up a 3600 in an ITX build to re-purpose a Vega64 and some SSD and turn into my new racing sim system. As always, love this channel. I still love putting my own builds together but I don't have the time to dig so deep and wade through the nonsense of my own research any more. Appreciate the insight you guys have!
I bought the B450 Elite last black Friday. I picked it because it had the most USB ports for the price. I didn't know what a VRM was back then. A few months later I tried overclocking. The VRM is terrible and I can't get my 2600 over 3.9 Ghz without extreme voltages. It also has "dynamic voltage" which is a terrible feature and I don't know the real voltage. Wish I would seen this video before I bought it lol
I got to love these Tech RUclipsrs as not a single one of then have any consistency with which is the best motherboards to use with their Ryzen processors.
Probably the best and most thorough overview of a motherboard analysis for the end consumer i've ever seen. Top marks for GN to bring someone else in for this type of video. Thumbs up. You guys are never short on effort. This type of content could be on tech tv show.
I was looking for buying a mobo to pair up with my x5 3600 today and ran into this gem! Completely blown away by the sheer useful content this video has, and luckily for me I can buy a MSI B450 Motar Max in my country so that's a no brainer :-) Thanks a ton for helping me make my choice and keep up the good work! I have to say this is by far the best explanation of motherboards that actually fits what I have been looking for. Especially the part where you broke down each VRM, price to value and if it would be good for OC'ing of the 3900x and OC'ing of ram and to what extent.
The problem with Buildzoid's reviews is that he is too heavily focused on overclocking. He goes on and on about the VRM of these boards even though the VRM on every one of them is more than adequate for 99% of the people who might buy them. Other than that, he just reads the specs. I don't get anything from these videos that I couldn't get from the "compare" feature on Newegg. I realize he does know quite a bit about the inner workings of the boards. I'd just prefer reviews from somebody who can tell me why I might prefer one LAN chip over another or other details that matter to people who do multiple things with computers rather than just dunk them in liquid nitrogen to see how fast they'll go.
the answer is basic just look closely at buildzoids channel name. but yeah these mobos are all capable of runnin all your cpu. what buildzoid is just pointing out is that tmobos on same price point have differences in vrm and he points out the winner on them this is something you dont really see in the spec sheet . besides having better vrm does give you the benefit of having better thermals.
@@crasselwalt64 This isn't buildzoid's channel. The video is titled the best boards. Not the best boards for overclocking, just the best boards. They should get Wendell to do reviews like this.
Interesting what you say about the B450 AORUS ELITE. I'm using this board with my Ryzen 5 3600, and it over clocks to 4.2GHz no issue, it even boosts upwards of 4.3GHz on its own. Voltages are at a constant 1.4v across all cores. Temps wise, it never goes over 65c on the hottest days here in Aussie, I'm talking around 40c+. It's been a very hot summer here this year, we've temps hit 46c, that's 111f in the old language. I've had no issues with this board, and I'm more than happy with it.
Great list but I'm surprised why the B450 Pro Carbon misses the cut. It has the best VRM in all B450 boards and also a whole heap of kit like Intel LAN and Wi-Fi that is missing in the tomahawk.
My guess is that it has to do with it not having the Max bios so it is sort of stripped down bios wise. I have it and I kind of love it. But the fact that they haven't made an update to the board to support a bigger bios I think might have cost it the space.
@@kgmaralit Yes. They haven't made a Pro Carbon Max. So it only has 16 MB space for BIOS meaning that they have had to cut features in their newer BIOS revisions in order to support Ryzen 3000 CPUs. The new BIOS has dropped support for some legacy CPUs as well as it has gotten a somewhat cutdown look (no more nice colours) in the UEFI. Some actually like the cutdown look better. But it is a consideration.
there is no point spending crazy on a board when the chip is limiting your OC... how much extra performance around you seriously going to get out of a r5 3600?
Not much I assume. That's why I'll be getting the Asus Prime or Tomahawk MAX B-450. I'll overclock the memory a bit, but the CPU can stay where it's at!!!
The merit to getting a quality board is a high memory OC. Of course, irrespective of the mobo, you are bound by the silicon lottery wether your r5 3600 can handle 1900 FCLK or not, that said, people should NOT overspend on the mobo when there are excellent cheap alternatives out there such the aforementioned c6h.
So is the Gigabyte Aorus B450 a decent buy? It has all the features I wanted. I just got to figure out how to get 3rd gen Ryzen working with it. I don't have any previous generations and I don't know anybody who does.
just stick to b450 if you are gonna use r5 3600. cuz x570's are designed to handle 3900-3950. you would not wanna spend the extra buck for a motherboard designed for a cpu you would never use
I'm an idiot not a troll so please forgive me. I'm looking to build a pc for the first time. I've pretty much decided on a ryzen 5 3600 and 5700 xt for CPU and GPU, but cant figure out motherboard really. Would this motherboard be compatible so I wouldn't have to flash a bios or whatever that is? And also since this motherboard has wifi I would be able to wirelessly hook up to my internet with nothing else needed?
@@lifemocker85 what's the reason you would choose one of those motherboards over something like a Msi B450i? Because the build video I watched used the B450i and I'm scared to switch out any parts because I won't think I'll be able to hook it up correctly unless I follow it step by step.

Look, b450 tomahawk max is a full atx board while b450 mortar max is a micro atx. Choose between them according to your pc case. Tomahawk max has one m.2 but mortar has 2 m.2 slots. And B450 pro carbon ac has inbuilt wifi(full atx). All 3 have more or less same in term of specs. But I'm personally using b450 tomahawk max paired with ryzen 7 2700 and It's work very well.
As MSI made no MAX version of it, its almost everywhere out of stock or the price increased to like 30 or 40 bucks more than the Tomahawk that just doesnt make it worth it anymore. It does however have Bios Flashback, so not being a MAX isnt an issue and it might be the cheapest way to get Wifi AC if youre interested in that.

Personally speaking, I think the Gigabyte X570 Gaming X is one the best "basic" X570 boards. No fluff, no crazy add-ons, just a solid board. I may be slightly biased as I own one, and am very happy with it. I was surprised you didn't mention it, but rather mentioned the more expensive Aorus Elite version.
"If you hate Gigabyte boards for whatever reason[...]" Yup, I do, and I have my reason: GA-M55plus-S3G (rev. 1.0). Board itself was perfectly fine. Complete lack of BIOS updates for AM2+/AM3 CPUs - not so much. I have not bought a GB motherboard (for myself or someone else) since.
Talk about timing! A motherboard is literally the only thing I still need to buy for my new PC! I use a Ryzen 5 3600 as well, so this was really helpful. Keep it up!
If you have the money to spend, consider getting the MSI Gaming Pro Carbon AC instead of the Tomahawk-it has a better vrm and more features (including wifi if you need that) Availability could be a bit of an issue though as they sell out fast He had spoken very highly of the board last time and basically said it's the best B450 you could get .. idk why it wasn't mentioned here though

In these videos, I’d be curious to see how you’d fit in boards that support x8/x8 for those of us interested in dual GPU systems (SLI not required). The x470 gaming plus is $120 US right now and seems to be a great value - better than the b450s mentioned.
I love these breakdowns they're so informative. It seemed not so long ago that the public really had no way of knowing how good the power delivery and electrical performance of motherboards were and we're all better off now because of it. I hope that in the future we can see similar breakdowns of other aspects like the sound quality, performance and functionality, network performance and cpu utilization. I understand that buildzoid comes at this from the perspective of someone who likes to wring the most from his hardware and so it just might not interest him to do it and that's fine, do what you love doing, however as someone who installs and only adjusts a couple of things and then forgets about it, a lot of the focus on extreme overclocking tools is not as important as knowing if there's much difference between 2 different audio or network solutions. Please don't take this is a complaint as I really appreciate that we have these videos at all and I certainly don't want them to stop, but if you were thinking about how to go to the next level of informing viewers, this would be my suggestion as a viewer who can't find the content/comparisons I'm looking for.
Actually it is a valid complaint. Buildzoids definition of "Best" comes down to how it handles overclocking and power delivery. Here's a review/rant on why the B450 Tomahawk isn't necessarily the best B450 motherboard for Ryzen 3000. ruclips.net/video/9CA3vxWBdQY/видео.html. Don't get me wrong I watch Actual Hardcore Overclocking and have learned a lot from Buildzoid. I didn't rush out and buy an X570 board for Ryzen 3000, because as he rightly pointed out if you don't need PCIE 4.0 there is no need for X570. So I put a 3700X in my B350 with no problem(runs with less power than the overclocked 1700 it replaced) and with the money I saved bought a 2 TB Intel 660p NVME to use for storage. It is installed on an adapter card in a PCIE 3.0 x16 slot. But I agree with Mr TechDeals if you are buying now and planning on a 3950X or even a 3900X in the future then get an X570, a Tuf X570 as recommended by Buildzoid if you want to be cheap or one of the more expensive ones if they have features you want/need. If you are only going to run up to a 3800X then get the X470/B450 with features you want. Avoid the really cheap boards and don't worry about CPU overclocking as there really is no point on the 3000 series. The ASUS B450-F deal recommended by Mr. TechDeals doesn't have the best VRM but it will handle any stock 8 core and any overclocked 6-core in a ventilated case. It has way more features than a Tomahawk Max and it was cheaper.
Great video, though it would have been perfect to slot in just before Thanksgiving on like Tuesday or Wednesday. Though at least it's ahead of Cyber Monday.
so i was in a arguement with my friend, and i was telling him that he should invest in x570 board instead of x470. he argued that he thinks it doesnt really matter, and he can just bios flash. I just had gut feeling going with x570 board would be better, idk.
It's just a chipset. Strictly speaking, if you're not using PCIe Gen4, there's no difference. Now, in terms of motherboard quality or BIOS quality, that's going to vary more board-to-board and is the real point that should be considered.
@@GamersNexus While this is true if you are doing a new build you would be remiss not to grab a Sabrent Rocket 4 1TB on sale for under $170... that's just a steal and would make the PCIe 4 sort of useful.
@@GamersNexus If you are buying an x570 board for in the $250 range it would be dumb to stay on SATA or a slow NVMe drive when this is the one item you can buy to actually utilize PCIe 4.0 meaningfully. Bear in mind this is an SSD that was selling for over $250 a month ago. If you are cash strapped you shouldnt' be buying an x570 board but optimising your build better, for instance buying a B450 board and getting a faster CPU if anything. Basically your argument against the best value SSD on for the performance on the market right now has no teeth. Especially since IO bandwidth has been the limiting factor on PCs since the dawn of PC computing. Even at silly things like windows updates there is a huge difference between a SATA SSD and even a basic NVMe drive.... at this point you shouldn't be using SATA for anything but bulk hard disk storage granted I'm sure SATA makes more sense for swapping drives a lot between benchmark rigs but that is a truely niche case.
i just watched to see of you included the msi x470 gaming pro carbon. i want to upgrade to 3950x but im worried even though i hear it is a great board for overclocking.
I was thinking about getting the b450 max wifi version because i heard it is great with the 3600 but will upgrade to 5800x. But i am a little confused because people say that i should get a b550 or x570 but i really don't see much difference between the b550 and b450 except the pcie which i don't really use. And none of the board are really future proof because AMD will launching am5 socket in 2022 or later.. So i don't really see a reason to get the b550.( any thoughts on that?)

@@BeamMonsterZeus That part is a given, I'm more worried about the fact that this board never showed up in this and now I'm sitting here worried I got a shit motherboard.
It seems that most if not all Asus boards for X570 (taking into consideration many reviewers) are top notch, in all the price brackets. Most of the issues are with the cheap MSI X570 in this gen. Check reviews from Hardware Unboxed to see if they have one on your board (solely because they have more tech in rotation that some other channels).
Its similar to Tomahawk/GamingPlus/A-Pro but use doubled mosfets with same vrm controller. And controller overheats before mosfets. Also there is no MAX version with bigger BIOS Flash rom for Carbon. So, Carbon is ok, in same time Toma/GP/APro cost less and B450I Gaming Plus AC 20:25 has better vrm (but no heatsink on SoC, not best with AIO) and cost same.

Probably because the bios chip is only 16mb so they had to slim the bios. Saving profiles has to be to done with a USB pen drive. Otherwise it is an awesome board. Buildzoid has talked about it before. I wish MSI would cut off the 1st gen ryzen support to free up space.
A lot people asking why b450 pro carbon not on the list . I was window shopping about 2 months ago or so, on Amazon, the MSI B450M Mortar MAX board was literally like 159.99 - I was like "I'll keep my MSI x470 Gaming Plus ATX shitpiece thanks" lol
Here in Germany the Mortar is 10€ cheaper than the Tomahawk but the Tomahawk has the better VRM cooling solution of the northbridge, which imo is the most important mainboard feature for Ryzen 3000 and overclocking and the upgrade path to 8/12/16 core Ryzen. The Mortar has only 3x 4pin system fan connector (plus 1x 4pin cpu) and Tomahawk has 5x system fan connectors (plus 1x 4pin cpu). Also the Mortar has 5x USB 3.1 Gen1 and 4x SATA and 2x m.2 and the Tomahawk has 3x USB 3.1 Gen1 and 6x SATA and 1x m.2 and one more PCIe x1 slot. I don't get why MSI is building two mainboards like this in the first place and don't (ffs) combine the best of both worlds and simply make an ATX and a mATX version. Can anyone explain? xD
@@tobytoxd Doesn't matter though, the Mortar VRMs perform similar to the Tomahawk even with a 3950x, so it's really the better board to go for because of the USB and m.2 slots, I also wish it had an ATX version
@@DriveCancelDC Believe me, you will not have much fun with any board which lacks cooling on the upper VRMs. Boards like that are not build to handle higher overclocks and higher voltage hungry components like e.g. cpu and ram. Depending on your cpu, its silicon quality and the age of the components you will have throttling right from the start or later in the future, when the cpu and components need more volts, than the cooling can handle. You can and should buy aftermarket cooling for the upper VRMs, when that throttling occurs. But there is a reason, why boards are build WITH that cooling. Boards without it are definitely not build for voltage hungry components and/or settings.
Thanks! It's been a royal pain trying to figure out WHY would one need a more expensive MB besides having more or less usb or ports, and when you touched the throttling issues and the way they handle power... it finally made sense. I still have no idea how to diferentiate one from another, but I'll be going for the TUF and a Ryzen chip.
There are ONLY 4 or 5 high-end X370 motherboards out there ( like my ASRock X370 Fatal1ty Pro Gaming ;-) ) and afaik that chipset cannot overclock RAM beyond 3200 as easy as X470 and the latest and greatest X570. BUT if you already have a good X370 mobo like ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero, ASROCK X370 Taichi or X370 Fatal1ty Pro Gaming, Gigabyte Aorus GA-AX370 Gaming 5 or MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon or M7 ACK it's very good even with an R9 3900X processor!
Currently using a B450 Tomahawk Max for my latest build (3700x, 16gb 3200mhz ram, RX5700XT) and I've got to be honest: I'm so surprised by this board. It was a 100% completely hassle-free build even when upgrading the BIOS and chipset drivers and everything. Usually when I build a new rig I run into at least one or two issues (usually easily solved) but... nope, absolutely flawless. Love it! It could use a few more USB ports and an extra M2 slot for those who want it, but other than that I would actually highly recommend it.

@@Chuckiele the second half of the video doesn't contain any useful information either.
the answer is basic just look closely at buildzoids channel name. but yeah these mobos are all capable of runnin all your cpu. what buildzoid is just pointing out is that tmobos on same price point have differences in vrm and he points out the winner on them this is something you dont really see in the spec sheet . besides having better vrm does give you the benefit of having better thermals.

It is one of the best, but when people give it something, they want to sink it. Hate and envy is a disease.
Great list but I'm surprised why the B450 Pro Carbon misses the cut. It has the best VRM in all B450 boards and also a whole heap of kit like Intel LAN and Wi-Fi that is missing in the tomahawk.
Im also wondering this too...
My guess is that it has to do with it not having the Max bios so it is sort of stripped down bios wise. I have it and I kind of love it. But the fact that they haven't made an update to the board to support a bigger bios I think might have cost it the space.
@@MarkLangdahl can i ask is there any reason to buy the tomhawk max instead of the pro carbon? The carbon is just

@@kgmaralit Yes. They haven't made a Pro Carbon Max. So it only has 16 MB space for BIOS meaning that they have had to cut features in their newer BIOS revisions in order to support Ryzen 3000 CPUs.
Though at least it's ahead of Cyber Monday.
thanks for releasing this a day after ive ordered my mobo :D i got the Prime X570-P from black friday for 150€ so im satisfied.
so i was in a arguement with my friend, and i was telling him that he should invest in x570 board instead of x470. he argued that he thinks it doesnt really matter, and he can just bios flash.
@@Wingnut353 No, you wouldn't be, because that's $170 for storage. Not everyone has budget for that.
Chase Rayfield Nope no way, you realise PCIe 4 drives right now are completely pointless and have no market niche
Cheers Buildzoid! Couldn't be happier with my Mortar Max, has been absolutely seamless with my 3700X and great for B-Die overclocking.
i just watched to see of you included the msi x470 gaming pro carbon. i want to upgrade to 3950x but im worried even though i hear it is a great board for overclocking.
x470 is fine it can handle a ryzen 9
but id just go for a b550 or x570 instead
I was thinking about getting the b450 max wifi version because i heard it is great with the 3600 but will upgrade to 5800x. But i am a little confused because people say that i should get a b550 or x570 but i really don't see much difference between the b550 and b450 except the pcie which i don't really use. And none of the board are really future proof because AMD will launching am5 socket in 2022 or later.. So i don't really see a reason to get the b550.( any thoughts on that?)
@@sammassey5587 b550 for 5800x because better vrms,and gen 4 pcie,as well as better features
As someone who just ordered a B450M Mortar Max this week to replace my (possibly glitchy) B350 board, I'm glad to hear it's that good :)
Currently picking my B450 tomahawk max...
Id get Prime P instead
For longevity
@@lifemocker85 lol
Finally paired my X570 Aorus Master with a 3950x today, reassuring to know it's not a crap choice lol.
A balance choice! I might follow suit after concluding that Xtreme isn't that useful for 3950x
2 hours after I spent my entire paycheck on an Asus Prime x570 Pro bundled with a 3600x.... I hope my board is as reliable as the x370 version of the same board.
Good job! Can't wait to see the review of the refreshed Cascade Lake X motherboards.
20:25 The best B450 mainboard for your money, if you can live with the fact that its mini ITX.
Good summary and report 👍
so i just bougth the Msi gaming pro carbon ac... was that a mistake or is that board ok? :x
Hi John, I purchased the same, I am not sure as well I hope Buildzoid can comment on this
@@redl3733 rewatching he said the Mortar Max was pretty much the best B450, so I'm thinking about cancelling my order and getting that, is that a better choice then?
@@johnuferbach9166 Carbon AC has better VRM and more features than Mortar.
In same time i have no idea what features you need and if it reasonable difference in your case.
@@redl3733 soo... i'm planning to use a r7 3700x, need wifi (doesn't have to come with the board though), and hoping (first time) to do ram oc and maybe try cpu oc
don't really need more than 2 sata / 1 m.2 port
I heard the lite bios of the carbon ac didn't have all the features one would need, so I got worried.
Thank you so much, been waiting this guide before the black friday. Now I need more money.
i think we have different definitions of the word "cheap" and thats okay
This helped me a lot, thanks! :)
This list doesnt include the asus strix b450i?
or any B450 board from asus... no tuf, no prime, no rog strix.
@@BiohazardX9 asus made the x570 cheap list lol
These helped me quite a bit in narrowing my mobo choices. Thank you so much!
What happened to MSI Gaming Pro Carbon? I seem to remember you saying it was one of the best B450's.
Probably because the bios chip is only 16mb so they had to slim the bios. Saving profiles has to be to done with a USB pen drive. Otherwise it is an awesome board. Buildzoid has talked about it before.
I wish MSI would cut off the 1st gen ryzen support to free up space.
Yeah... it is creat motherboard, but the bios is really small. So if msi makes max version of it, it would be very good low cost build option.
A lot people asking why b450 pro carbon not on the list . The only reason I could think why BZ do not included it because from a price point of view with few extra buck you could get x570 asus prime which is a better motherboard choice for ryzen 3950x . Anyway looking forward on BZ review on B550 motherboard once they release . Nice video .
yesterday i've bought an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (192€), an G.Skill RipJaws V 16GB DDR4-3200 CL16 Kit (62€) and an MSI B450M Mortar Max (89€)
it will replace an Intel Core i5-4690, Kingston ValueRAM DIMM 16GB DDR3-1333 CL9 Kit and an ASUS H97-Pro
i hope it will arreive soon :^)

I'm also thinking about getting the Mortar Max...what RAM are you using with this board?
No honorable mention for the Asrock B450M Pro4? Bummer...
haha, i am dissapointed to, just got it for like 80 $ , i've been told it's better then the aorus 450m , has solid vrm cooling
@@cristized12700 I got mine for $50 in March (Newegg special). It's running the Ryzen 7 @ 3.9GHz like a champ.
I went with the Gigabyte x570 Master and an extremely happy. It's rock solid even running 64gb of cheap 3200 xmp ram.
Are you able to OC that ram any even if you have to losen timings a little it may perform better if you can get it closer to the ideal 3733?
@@Wingnut353 I've not tried to do any real custom settings, I only used the xmp built into the ram itself just for sake of stability.
My Asrock B450M Steel Legend is great and cost just 90USD. I thought it was listed here as well. Nonetheless, Buildzoid does great content for GN. Looking forward on your B550 reviews :)
I've looked into that one because it's slightly cheaper and has argb compared to the Mortar, but it seems the MSI is just better, also that print on the Steel Legend is weird.
good to hear that, I was just thinking of buying one of those for a ryzen 3600 build
@@alvarodiaz2221 I have this board as well with a 3600. It was compatible out of the box with "Ryzen 3000 Ready" printed on the box. For a budget board it is very premium feeling. IDK why they wasted time dissing Gigabyte's B450 boards on here instead of talking about the Steel Legend?
Glad that the Asus Prime X570-P is on the list. Bought mine for $128 a/b 2 weeks ago when Amazon had it on sale and it will be delivered tomorrow 😊.
These videos are seriously so helpful. Thank you!!
The ASrock B450 Pro 4 has better VRM cooling than the lower end Aorus boards...
I really wonder, how come it's not included in his recommendations and those aorus boards are?
Thanks! It's been a royal pain trying to figure out WHY would one need a more expensive MB besides having more or less usb or ports, and when you touched the throttling issues and the way they handle power... it finally made sense.
I still have no idea how to diferentiate one from another, but I'll be going for the TUF and a Ryzen chip.
why always only B450, X570, X470 and not x370?
Bought the MSI B450i plus AC on your recommendation. Have not been disappointed, good to hear it can manage the R9s as I usually undervolt anyways.
How is the overclock on that board im just curious ? Im planing to get it
Dude, connector ports, that's like 50% of my board selection criterion.
Mortar MAX might be preferable because of the IO features, but that wasn't available here anyway ;p
I couldnt even afford the "WELL, IT COULD BE WORSE DIRT CHEAP BOARD" category
could you please next time put it in the description, title or even in the 1st minute of the video that overclocking is the subject if youre going to have buildzoid recommend components because thats all he talks about (no offence).
Even if you aren't overclocking, we wouldn't recommend going below that board. There are compromises outside of OC.
@@GamersNexus Im on a budget, I gotta have "compromises" plus half of the recommended b450 arent even available in my area, going lower than b450 just aint gonna do for my procie
@@itsallgoodman8867 Well x370 isn't all bad either... at stock settings almost identical, the main difference I think is PBO may be a bit less capable on x370 but from what I remember it still works. You just have to be careful as few x370 boards have good BIOS support for Zen 2 and even fewer have BIOS flashback. If you are compromising the board, it stands to reason you will probalby have a Ryzen 5 CPU also which won't put too much strain on the VRM.
Erm i bought an x570 Aorus Ultra since i couldnt get the Extreme, here are more expensive because of the taxes. It was a bad buy?
