- Here we get things to the point where I can safely move forward on my own. Bracing and cross-bracing is done, but Steve still wants to play engineer and add a few fun safety features. Hopefully before he has his surgery he can tackle the railing that he wants to do, as that is one rather big important safety necessity. We will just have to see how things go for him.
My next plan for this project will have to be sorting out a system of getting the materials down more efficiently - I have a few ideas that I'm sorting out in my head.
You have to be one of the hardest workers I’ve ever come across. You doubt your sweet self to often, the driving of such tractors is great. Please believe in yourself and not put yourself down.
DEDICATED!!!!!!!
EVERY MAN NEEDS A REAL WOMAN LIKE YOU IN THEIR LIVES!
STEVE IS VERY BLESSED TO HAVE YOU IN HIS LIFE!!!!
My husband and I are binge watching this series. You are some kinda superwoman!
I’ve had 5 back surgeries. Prayers to Steve. Great video.
WOW! What an amazingly hard worker, and smart too - those shoulder pads were pure genius.
I don't know about anyone else, but this woman is one tuff gal.
Agreed.....
Here's hoping Steve will have a successful surgery and a fast and full recovery!
VERY COURAGEOUS PERSON TO TAKE THIS WOOD ALL THE WAY DOWN….CONGRATULATIONS 💐💐🌺🌷🌼🌻💐🌷
Michelle, you are one badass woman!!! I wish more people today had your drive.
The hockey pads killed me!!! You are one feisty lady.
This was interesting to see how this foundation came together. Drilling into rock is tough enough, and the cable wire is extra security. When they build bridges that hang off the cliffs in the Smokey mountains, you just wouldn’t think it could hold up the cars, and semis that might be crossing.
Two things.
Awesome job.
Your channel is refreshingly simple yet different then everyone else.
So I have watched you build this cabin on a cliff, and I am totally impressed, not to mention the view!! Wow! Awesome job! Put me in the camp of, "Not sure those bolts will hold those 6 x 6's", but I like what you are doing here!
You are one tough woman! Now for the negative, sorry, but I am all about safety!
I am an airline pilot and former HC-130 rescue pilot who plans for A, B and C. You NEED some chaps to protect yourself when using that chainsaw, especially when you are alone!!!! Without them, one wrong cut and you will be in a life and death situation! When you are alone, no one will know you are hurt, at least when Steve is with you, he could help you if you were to get hurt! PLEASE get some chaps, they will save your life for sure!!!
Otherwise, awesome videos, I am enjoying them very much, my wife, not so much......she says I don't need a saw mill! But I said "Michelle has one!! Maybe you could talk to her for me?? ROTFLMAO!!
Keep up the great work, but be safe!
The only time I didn’t wear chaps, my saw hit my left leg and cut up an expensive pair of jeans. Amazingly, it did not cut my leg. I know three men who did cut themselves pretty badly. I not usually a Karen on RUclips but I do believe in safety with chain saws after doing an autopsy on a logger.
That looks like hard work, well done.
Putting on hockey pads to haul freshly milled 2x4s down the side of the hill to build a cabin in the woods is about the most Canadian thing I've seen done in a while LOL well done, eh!
I don’t think you are going to fall down the cliff! You are a complete bad ass! So glad I found your channel. 🤠
What a woman!excellent job, feel for Steve my back is buggerd too
A very Canadian solution to carrying lumber on your shoulder. Good job. I will say your bush carpentry skills with the chainsaw are coming along nicely.
Really neat project and videos. What a labor of love for sure. Please get some earplugs and even more importantly some safety glasses. We heated with wood growing up and ran saws, didn’t even know about protecting our hearing. At about 50 (10 years ago) I developed tinnitus and now have 24/7 ringing in my ears. More importantly, you don’t want to damage your beautiful eyes, you need them to enjoy that cabin view. Thanks for an amazing adventure
tell you what this girl is one tough girl what she is doing a lot of guys wouldn't do .very hard working woman and she doing a great job at it to
Hockey pads great idea and monster effort getting it down there.
You are an amazing hard worker...greetings from Chile.
Enjoyed the video. Don’t overload yourself carrying the lumber down the hill. Leg and back injuries are not fun. Wishing Steve the best with his upcoming surgery. Looking forward to hearing that the surgery goes great.
I hope Steve get his operation soon and has a speedy recovery
Very impressed and what an amazing view, well done
Awwww. I pray he’s ok,,,,,Amen. Be safe. Love your videos.
Very good idea with the hockey pads over your shoulders because weight on your shoulder pushes down on nerves across the neck, I wish all the best to your husband with his back surgery and you be careful doing things by yourself, we don't want the videos to stop!😬
Thanks Mark! Yes, my neck was sore even still, but the pads did help. I have spent the last 2 days just doing housework (easy stuff, lol), and resting my body a bit. I do realize that if I injure myself, then I'm hooped!
Showing great commitment and resolve Michelle, onwards and upwards! Here's wishing Steve all the best and total success in his up-coming surgery.
HalloMädel, du bist sowas von toll. Es ist schwere körperliche Arbeit. Ohne weitere Worte, großen Respekt . Monika
What you think of and do, is amazing. Determination can work thru so very much. WARRIOR!!
Very Canadian with the shoulder pads. Great idea. You’re a hard worker indeed. Great project
Michele I can't believe how amazing you are you work tirelessly and that cabin will be awesome and good luck to Steve hope all goes well
I can predict the future. You will soon get a battery operated chain saw, and you will love it!😁
You handle the chainsaw, circular saw and hand tools like the professional you have become!
hi sassy mrs. i just discovered your channel. and i loooooove it.
the nature in canada is breathtaking .and what you show here is wonderful. love from morocco
I’m watching this with a heating pad on my back - best wishes to Steve on his back surgery. Great idea to use the shoulder pads.
Hello. Your drive is laudable. Keep it up.
What an incredible effort 💪. Respect ✌️. Stay sassy 😉
I just found your channel Friday and binged up to present. Im currently watching 7 different men from all over the world build cabins and not any of them a thing on you. Your tough. I'm super impressed. Can't wait for more.
Sweet shoulder pads. Love em! Crazy amount of work for sure! Can't wait to see the next step. I am with you, your not gonna fall down the cliff. We have similar terrain here in northern BC at François Lake. Love what you and Steve are doing.
I worked for many many years on Crown land cutting firewood, and we never had any chaps or safety gear except good workboots, and leather gloves, but that was over 30 years ago, and none of the modern safety gear existed.
These days when I go to get wood (mainly for my woodturning) and I'm running a chainsaw I wear a good helmet, workboots, and chaps. Yes in the heat and humidity of the summers here in Tokyo the chaps are hot to wear, but they snap on and off in seconds.
Buy good quality chaps.
I hope Steve has a good surgery and a speedy recovery.
Cheers from Tokyo!
Stu
Lookin good!! Wishing Steve a quick recovery.
Welcome the new Avenger, Michygoss! You look mean in that getup!
It's the best place!
The scenery is also 👍
hi there nice job your a tough young buzzard . best for steve been there it gets better . john
Cut my first pine just yesterday on our new 126 and I added about 1/2 cup Pinesol and it went perfectly. Beautiful lumber. Hey slow down on the excavator and be sure to keep the logs off the ground for the sake of your blade. I raise my loader forks and gently place the logs directly on them.
Please take this 74 year old's advice and learn what natural things you can take to reverse your injuries. I was told years ago that my disc was done and fusion was next. Bull shit. It is getting better by the week instead. Everything you need to know is on YT. Hang tough and keep up the great work. I feel your pain, literally 👍😎👌
OMG that is a long walk down carrying stuff , well done, it seems crazy but will be amazing when finished
I feel for your husband, as a guy with serious disc issues, I can feel his pain and it isn't fun. I covet all of your equipment to do the heavy lifting. It is looking good lot of fun work to come. Thanks for sharing.
Color me impressed. Your husband is a fortunate man. Hope his back is better soon.
Hockey shoulder pads - great idea!
You are really one of a kind.
Your’re a beast !! You can play on any team.
What a mission! You are an absolute weapon I’ve just found your channel and I cant wait to check out your other stuff👌🏼
That mill changes everything. Jealous!
Precarious position to build but dang that's gonna be amazing can't hardly wait be safe fer God sakes and prayers to the hubby 🙏a swift and painless recovery👍✌
Major respect girl, love the sass, keep up the good game!
I have to applaud your tenacity and work ethics. I totally know the effort involved lugging logs up and down hilly terrane. Doesn't take long to use up tons of calories and get TIRED. Bravo for your project and effort.
Love the hockey shoulder pad idea! 👍😏🇨🇦🌲👌🏒 And a speedy recovery, Steve.
I started watching your videos and I could not stop. You are one amazing woman and I was completely impressed with how hard you work. I'm staying with you all the way!
You have started a very nice project building a cabin on a cliff! But will have a beautiful view of the lake when your done, to have a nice place to relax and enjoy the view.
Hockey outfit for moving some timber...I can't wait to see you in full Wonder Woman costume when you get to move the stove 😂 Not sure how you manage to look and feel so good at the end of a days graft but keep up the good work Michelle. Stay sassy and stunning, Steve's one lucky fella.
Amazing energy, total respect from me.
best of luck to Steve, and was not expecting hockey references but that's on me lol. can't wait for the next video
Hi - thanks for all the videos and story’s you share! It’s fun to watch all the stuff you are doing. Always looking forward to the next video. Greetings from Norway 😄👍🇳🇴
Thanks so much Geir!
Just started watching. Enjoying your skills with the hammers. Don’t see construction workers using old fashion hammers so watching you pound away was very impressive.
You are an amazing woman. Steve is a very Blessed fellow. I do hope surgery and recovery go very well. May God Bless you both in all your endeavours!!
Loved your chainsaw lap joints!
That's a heck of a long trail to carry wood down. Fun project though.
Love the way you just do it
A hockey gal!! I think you stated you rescued one of your fur babies from North Carolina. If you and Steve ever make near Raleigh NC, you guys are welcome to our seats so y'all can watch the Carolina Hurricanes. Loving the series. Fell down the rabbit hole and found your videos. Took me 2 days to watch them all, but eagerly awaiting more. Keep up the good work.
Prayers for Steve, and you.. press on..
i gave a lump of coal to my sister years ago for xmas!!!! LOL the look on her face was priceless!!! make sure you have the camera ready when they open it!!! the view will be worth all the hard work when its finished!! IF I would have done that with the 6x6 it would have went clear to the water!!! LOL
Wishing the best for Steve. Keep up the good work. You are the best!!
I've made my share of signs too, love it. !
Sorry to hear about Steve's back issue. I like your sense of humor.
Looking good
Thanks for sharing
DaGum Girl, you're one tough cookie and fine as frog hair!!! Best wishes for Steve and be safe while you're working alone. ( if you have never seen frog hair it's because it's so FINE!!!)
I like the trim saw.
That is an amazing view. Going to be spectacular when cabin is finished. Keep up the good work take care
Absolutely crazy about your determination to get things done. The no quit attitude is amazing. Wishing Steve a safe and speedy recovery on his surgery.
I milled my first log last weekend on my Woodland Mills HM130. So excited to do more, but 2 more weeks til retirement.
Thanks for sharing
That is a perfect partner/woman who I never dated, married, nor knew personally... Amazing!! Cannot wait to see you finish it!!!
Well done love. Good job.
I love this channel!!! So glad I found you. Keep the great content coming. I can't wait to see what you do next..
I was in BC as an exchange student a couple years back and I am so glad I found your channel, your videos are awesome!
One day I will return and get myself an offgrid property as well :)
Saw this and thought of you. Hillside trolleys, a great alternative to cliff stairs - The Dock Doctors
Looks great! Keep up the hard work!
Hey, I know you've heard the saying anyone that loves a dog can't be all bad. I can tell your a dog lover and so am I! I guess there's hope for us both. ☺️ I do think what you do is cool as hell. What you do takes a lot of work and I respect that!
Yes - very passionate about all animals ❤️
@@michygoss7148 I use to hunt but I've gotten to tender hearted in my old age, thank you for replying.
@@walterchapman2884 I don’t think the human race thinks often enough about the other living species and how important their lives are too.
@@michygoss7148 your right they feel , they hurt, they get hungry
Just because we can kill doesn't mean we should
What a woman! I live in North Carolina and we don't have many women your age (I'm a 37 year old male) or especially younger made tough as you anymore, in my area anyway. It's a real shame too women and men both have lost so much survival knowledge and strength. Women and a lot of men of this day wouldn't survive in the times before 1900 especially say when this country was being formed. Soldier on and you will reap the rewards in the end. Great video. Glad I found your channel. Stay well. -Wil 👍
Thanks Wil! I couldn't agree more. We are becoming such a weak species in a lot of ways, which is why I feel it's so important to push hard and challenge myself in life.
That view is amazing, prayers for a fast recovery for Steve...
Amazing work.
Everything should work just fine by tying into the rock. Hope everything goes well with his surgery. Had my back surgery in December and more work done a couple of weeks ago. Take care and GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
I was a logger when younger and a wild land firefighter for 30 years retired now. LOL yeah you are hot super hot so don’t worry about how hot or bulky things are 😁 just get Some chainsaw chapes and a hard hat too while your at it. I’ve seen some firefighters really opened up with saws lucky they didn’t loose there lives. Number one killer of fighters by the way is from falling trees though please look out for your safety. Love your vids 👍
I'm a total chicken when it comes to felling trees. I do small trees, and even then I'm a squeaking gerbil. haha. If I do fell trees, I would definitely wear a helmet (which I have).
A lot of good job. Oh, I wanted to say about how to get down the materials saving the powers but since you have some ideas on this, then will wait for the video with big interest. Thanks for the video!
Happy you protected yourself with the sunscreen! Oh poor Steve, best of luck with the surgery and I hope the rehab is manageable. I was so surprised at how the first log went according to plan....and then, well, you found a big rock of coal!! You are a little beast carrying that wood so dang far! I wonder if you could design some sort of zip line for the wood...oh and yourself too but I guess the tree branches would be terrible obstacles. Thanks so much for the great episode, take care
thanks Nena. I am going to sort out a system to slide things down. a zipline is totally a good idea, but being that Steve can't help much anymore, a zipline is just too complicated for me.
What a view from that deck !
Michelle, have you considered using a lumber dolly instead of hand carrying all the lumber down that hill? There are lots of videos available on that, but I think if you used a large wheelbarrow wheel, you could drill a hole in 4 pieces of lumber and bolt that to the wheel, two on each side. On the other end, drill holes in the wood and add a spacer block or a short piece of pipe and bolt and you have a handle to guide it down the trail. You might be able to take 6 pieces at a time, but I'd start with 4 and see how it works. Sorry if this has already been mentioned, and thanks for the videos.
Sunscreen is all the safety equipment you need! Lol Holy shoulder pads....Lmao! You crack me up. Whatever works I guess! Get well soon Steve!!
Very good!!! Cheers from Brazil !!!!🇧🇷
Good luck to Steve, I got bad knees and I would never make it to the cabin. Lol 🤣 need a zip line down there might help. Robert Alabama
