You are a strong man and a testament to how your mother and father raised you. Well done.
Very sorry for the loss of your mom. Remembering the stories and taking care of one another will bring the peace you seek. Refocus everyday. Gather the energy the forest provides. Use that energy wisely to move forward and reach your dreams and goals. You and your dad are great people.

Your mother is always with you. Every time ou hear the wind rustle the trees overhead, it's her peering down from above. Always watching over you, never leaving you.
Nothing like getting in the forest and staying busy to help soothe the pain, if just for a moment.
Praying for you and your family during this time of loss.
That drone! Back in the day, that shot required a helicopter and camera man. Technology!!! You are a son who has made her mother proud and made every moment she spent in that bed worth it. I am learning from your success and mistakes! Aloha and mahalo my friend.
You and your dad have done all you can for your beloved mother. And you know the Joy of her being at home now in Heaven. I too know that my wife is there. She passed in March of this year. Yes there is much sorrow, But God called her home. And she is no longer in pain and suffering. And they are In Heaven, where they are waiting for us to be together when God call's us to come home. God Bless your family.

It is good that you are immersing yourself in the cabin - certainly not for our sake - but, for healing therapy. There is nothing that comforts the soul more than being close to God and the abundance he has provided, namely, the forest you are so carefully harvesting. To make prudent use of God's bounty is why the forest is there. Love the trees as God loves you and your family.
Nice to see you back in the woods after all that you have endured lately, puts the mind at peace thinking about something other than your grief, even if its only for a little while.

i know that you have read and heard platitudes and try to be strongs, but the grieving process is different for everyone and I respect that. Nature in all it's glory and this cabin that you now dedicate in the memory of your beloved mother will hopefully give your family the strength to go on. Dear Outsider, I really enjoy your channel. I am sorry for the loss of your Mother. I lost my mother when I was 7 years old. I still think about her almost every day. I am always feeing close to God and family when living an outdoor life. You are truly blessed indeed.
My deepest sympathies go out to you and the family buddy,treasure the moments you had with her.
Through long experience, and several losses including my wife and mother, I wish to offer some thoughts.
I don't know how often you are around other people. But if you had someone to talk to about your grief. Especially when it's the same kind of loss. That is a help.
Grief does not go away, but it does get better. More manageable in time.
And, down the road, there may be days when grief surges back. As in much of life, all things go in cycles. You will get through any sudden resurgence. The sun will come out again.

I really like watching your videos and I have to say there is something about your voice I really don’t know how to put into words but the one word comes to mind is soothing and I could listen to u read the dictionary and in joy it. That Massey looks like the same model we had on the farm back in the 80’s. Fine piece of machinery.
The rain seemed symbolic of your mother's disease. A diversion from the task at hand that you were forced to deal with.
Now the cabin becomes symbolic of your life. Something you must keep working at despite any setbacks.
I appreciate the nod to the hope of a resurrection in the form of "until we meet again"

I continue to be amazed at the way you are able to just build the things you need out of the trees you have at your disposal. It seems there is no limit to what you could create while you continue this most excellent project. All that bark you were throwing away would make a cool looking border in someone's home or even could be used as some sort of out building paneling. I can't get over how tall all those trees get. That ladder you made would make anybody proud. The weather up there sure does change fast. I left a comment on your last video from my family to yours. I hope you saw it, but no worries if you didn't. We just wanted to pay our respects to your wonderful mother and send our continued prayers to you and the rest of your family.

As I mentioned on Instagram, my Mom passed away a year and a half ago right after the Christmas Holidays and I feel fortunate to have been able to be at her side both during her time in the hospital and at the time of her passing.
There will be many things in the future that will trigger memories. Many will bring tears but as time progresses more of them will bring smiles.
One thing to always be aware of though is to make sure your mind is on your task, especially as you continue to work with the tools you use and progress higher with your cabin. If you are feeling distracted from your work by memories then take a break from what you’re doing and keep yourself safe too.
The bark peeling is oddly satisfying to watch.
My mom died June 3rd. It is tough but we shall see them again. Now she watches down on you and prays for you.
Sorry to hear about your Mom's transition, keep her in your heart and she will never be far, I bet you can't wait to finish the cabin so you can just sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor, Peace and love Joe
