    Hey man awesome video, I wanted a tip from you. It was my dream of becoming a front end engineer or developer who could do both design and code front ends. Right now, I got the opportunity to work as a backend developer in web so I took it as I thought knowing about the backend will help me as a front end developer too. How long should I stay in this backend developer role and will this be beneficial? It is also my first job!

    • @davidjustice8087
      @davidjustice8087  2 месяца назад +1

      I definitely think it will be beneficial. Similar situation happened with me. I think the first job, you just need to get in. You will learn so much. As far as how long you stay depends on what you’re looking for. At least 6 months but ideally 1-2 years depending on if you like the team and what you’re doing and if another opportunity comes up. I think taking a backend role first really helped me grow as a developer. Work on frontend projects on the side to keep that skillset.

    How much did u know when u first started as a junior dev? I have about 7 months left of my course and whenever i use one language for 2-3 months, i start forgetting one slowly😂 (like working on c# then forgetting about how javascript works)

    • @davidjustice8087
      @davidjustice8087  6 месяцев назад +2

      I was 70/30 frontend/backend. But my first role was full backend haha. As far as hm I know is hard to say really quantify but definitely nothing compared to what I know now. I would say focus on one language and tinker with a second but try to focus on one to get your first job.

      My last role I was strictly backend, but now I am full stack. Depends on the sprint and task at hand what domains I need to work in. You should definitely go for it.

You can get it in person at Bestbuy if you prefer. www.amazon.com/dp/B09K7K36HQ/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_6SPTDN4P7QAD0ME0TTN2?linkCode=ml1&tag=saveligajusti-20

      @@Xo-cx6ed I don’t have a degree or a Bootcamp. So yes I think it’s possible. There are a still a good amount of bootcamps grads learning the same thing so my advice would be differentiate yourself through a dope project or learn a skill outside of bootcamp that everyone else hasnt

      I get this remark and my honest thought is it depends haha. I think it depends on the extend of what you're doing. If you're just doing basic sites maybe not, but if you're building extensive platforms or saas products I would say yes. Much of this work probably is on the backend but again I would say it depends. My current role, I would say yes.

    Something is wrong here, u both can't work from home when u have a child to carry, at least your wife must carry the child all day. Even u manage to make this YT video and go to gym, wow!

    • @davidjustice8087

      I think its not a black and white statement but depends on your jobs. My wife primarily watches the kids.But I take breaks and try to see everyone when I can. Also my job is flexible so as long as I get my hours in there’s no issue.
