My AI SaaS failed: Here's what I've learned
So in a few of my last videos, I have been highlighting a platform I was building called ProductLamb. It provided AI Product Manager agents for startups to enable them to prioritize planning while freeing up time for development. While it was a cool idea and I spent 4-5 months coding and finding initial users, I decided to shut down it last month. This video explains why.

      Typescript basics maybe a few weeks. NodeJs took a while. Maybe 2 months. I can’t remember. Backend was harder for me to understand. Get down get out don’t stop saying no But JavaScript is so big you can’t learn it all. I just learned enough to continue learning and to build things.

This could be a technical co-founder or hiring a freelancer/dev shop. The best choice for you will depend your on financial state, long term goals, and time available. Hope this helps.

    Hey man awesome video, I wanted a tip from you. It was my dream of becoming a front end engineer or developer who could do both design and code front ends. Right now, I got the opportunity to work as a backend developer in web so I took it as I thought knowing about the backend will help me as a front end developer too. How long should I stay in this backend developer role and will this be beneficial? It is also my first job!

    • @davidjustice8087
      @davidjustice8087 5 месяцев назад

      I definitely think it will be beneficial. Similar situation happened with me. I think the first job, you just need to get in. You will learn so much. As far as how long you stay depends on what you’re looking for. At least 6 months but ideally 1-2 years depending on if you like the team and what you’re doing and if another opportunity comes up. I think taking a backend role first really helped me grow as a developer. Work on frontend projects on the side to keep that skillset.

    WHat technologies are companies using in your experience and what useful skills have you gained

    • @davidjustice8087
      @davidjustice8087 5 месяцев назад

      Depends on the type of role. There are so many jobs out there and companies use different tech stacks. If you’re in web development, learn typescript (after JavaScript). I feel like most teams in web use it by now. Also learn 1 web framework (react, angular, etc). Backend tech really varies. Some use Golang and some use Python. In my experience, you eventually be using more than one programming language in the backend. DB wise, learn a PostgreSQL. Can’t go wrong with SQL. Also learn Docker!

    Realu cool to hear this; as a senior dev (I guess), I can relate with a lot of what you shared. I think the thing to focus on is noticing the tradeoffs; the tensions pulling on you to make decisions in one direction or another. If you can sense those tensions and make decisions about them consciously, and defend them in a conversation, that’s huge. Also check off Elixir :D
