    I can only laugh!!!!! Because I'm sitting here, trying to warp my head around my knitting machine too. I thought it will go quick quick and voilà I have knitted a jersey lol. Sharing your experiences give me comfort that I'm not alone. I'm sure we will crack this, and by trial and error we will find our rhythm. Send you much love from heart to both your hearts

    I really loved the totally unprepared and unprofessional nature of your video. That was literally me trying to set up my machine. It is nice to know there are other people in the world muddling through and working things out. I loved it and it really has helped me

      Unprofessional and unprepared basically describes my life. My toxic trait is that I believed my parents when they said I could do anything I put my mind to.

    Finally a tutorial I can follow! I scored a Brother KH840 at a thrift shop last week. (Of course it didn't have the manual). I found a manual online but have still been so confused over the whole thing. I want to thank yall from the bottom of my heart for the instructions in terms I can understand 🥰 sending love and good vibes from central Florida!

      I had 3hr of footage to edit down!! I bet I could make a sweater in that amount of time.

      Mostly I have made a mess. We have come to the conclusion that the knitting machine needs all the hooks cleaned before we can make major projects.

      @@kinsey4309 that's crazy🤦 and I was just about to get one frfr. I just learned how to knit and it really take sooooo long😭 and I saw those circle ones but I saw this lady using one of these on here and I wanted one because it makes straight knits. These are expensive though and hard to find and it looks like alot of small parts and stuff you gotta do. It's so hard to find new ones for a price under a thousand. So I didn't wanna rush and get one but I know it's well worth it though, obviously once u learn to use it and what not. Because I sew and do upholstry. I'm new to knitting but it's really useful because it's stretchy. I hope I get one soon🤞

      Second hand ones are common on eBay and other resale sites. Its definitely a different beast than hand knitting. Im looking into one of the round ones too!

    • @kinsey4309

      It provides needs a new sponge bar and a good cleaning. I would also recommend you practice basic hand knitting to get more familiar with what stitches should look like. Best of luck!!

      That sounds like it could be a setting on the shuttle/carriage. You may need to manually cast on to get it started if its not working. I have a kh710 manual PDF if you need it!

    • @kinsey4309
      @kinsey4309  2 года назад

      I don't have any specific patterns since I don't have cards for my machine. If you have a knitting machine that's fully functional you can buy pattern cards online to make really cool blankets. I like some of the tuck stitch patterns myself.

    • @kinsey4309

      Your best bet is eBay or Craigslist, this particular machine hasn't been made for decades. There are some new ones you can but but they are very expensive.

    do you have any recommendations for machines with pretty versatile capabilities?

    • @kinsey4309
      @kinsey4309  2 года назад

      Most of them are really versatile! Having a machine with a ribber really makes it more versatile than those that dont.

      Double check the settings on the carriage and also make sure you have enough weight so it doesn't pop off. (Sorry if you've already checked this)

      @@trueloventombi6221 hi, my actual problem turned out to be some parts inside the carriage that should be free to move were seized up with the oil that had gone sticky or something. I fixed this by holding a hair dryer over those parts to heat up the oil and it loosened and suddenly worked perfectly! Try taking the bottom off your carriage, I think you'll need a screwdriver, and then just run the hairdryer over all of it just incase. Might not be your problem but worth a try!

    Did you sort out how to stop yr scarf rolling up?

    • @kinsey4309
      @kinsey4309  3 года назад

      We would need to wet block it. There doesn't seem to be a way to get a straight knit not to roll.
