  • So you're on the internet and you've asserted that Christians aren't being Christlike for opposing the New Sexual Orthodoxy? Before we debate that, there's something else we should probably discuss first.

      @@Netbug009 spoken as someone who has never actually considered the Christian position.
      this may come as a surprise to you, but most Christians do not spend all our time "hating on gay people" anymore than we spend all our time hating on Adam and Eve for eating the forbidden fruit. Part of your confusion, I suppose, comes from an ideology which equates sexual desire and behavior with identity. The Bible and Church teaching are clear that certain behaviors are fundamentally disordered (it's not a "personal bias," as you put it). We ought to hate sin because it damages persons and it is actually unloving to ignore sin, or worse, celebrate it. But you're not content with toleration (the practice of allowing the existence, occurrence, or practice of something that one does not necessarily like or agree with); you demand celebration.
      Bye

      @Richard Fox Lutheranism and rationalism are at odds with each other. I spoke with a LCMS pastor who admitted he was trained by a 19th church to preach to a 16th century audience. They’re not all out of touch, some do care and try to get the message across to see Christ in others. They can try and put up walls around themselves to insulate themselves from others, but those walls are not impermeable. I know because they hold onto the fear of rediscovering that the Lutheran seal is symbolic of the 8-year orbital cycle of Venus revolving around Earth from the human vantage point. The Holy Sacrament, Christ’s body and blood is “in, with, and under” the bread and wine, is a metaphor for Venus in retrograde. Jesus is the morning star and was resurrected from the dead as the evening star- Jesus is feminine love. It was the women who stayed, knowing full well that those who hated Jesus without cause would hate them too. It was the women who stayed at the foot of the cross- unnamed, unseen, and overlooked- they did not desert him. It was the women who cared for Christ’s beaten, bloody body, and gave him a proper burial. It was the women who were first to witness the Resurrection. ✝️
      Why do men of the church fear allowing women as pastors? It’s because the women who stay are closer to Christ. I never abandoned Jesus Christ, the divine, I left the church that was perverted by man. I am incredibly hurt by the church where I was confirmed, they feared me and treated me as if I did not understand the truth of God’s love. Here I stand. Peace be with you.

We have a 1st-century man who was raised Jewish and claimed to be God. This person then uniquely backed up that claim by performing miracles, fulfilling Messianic prophecies that had been around for centuries, and being raised from the dead.
      Jesus was killed because He equated Himself with God; any cursory reading of any of the Gospels makes that obvious.

      @Richard Fox That is a real problem. When Jesus rose from the dead, He didn't do it in a corner. In fact over 500 people saw Him at one time. If you lived back then you could interview these people, and they'd think you were crazy NOT to think He rose from the dead. It comes down to this, if Jesus didn't rise from the dead then there is salvation for NO ONE, but if He DID raise from the dead, salvation is available to everyone. Oh you can still reject it and His salvation. That's up to you. Now I have a personal relationship with Him, which would be pretty impossible if He did not rise from the dead. Think what you said through. On what basis do you make your claims? On what basis do we, as Christians, make ours?

    • @rockandsandapologetics7254
      @rockandsandapologetics7254 2 года назад

      @Richard Fox If I name the 11 apostles you won't accept the, although most of them were there at the time. Instead study your ancient historians. Tacitus wrote the following in 64AD, "Therefore, to stop the rumor, Nero substituted as culprits and punished in the utmost refinements of cruelty, a class of men, loathed for their vices, whom the crowd styled Christians. Christus, the founder of the name, had undergone the death penalty in the reign of Tiberius, by sentence of the procurator Pontius Pilatus, and the pernicious superstition was checked for a moment, only to break out once more, not merely in Judea, the home of the disease, but in the capital itself, where all things horrible or shameful in the world collect and find a vogue." Josephus wrote around 93AD, "There was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man, for he was a doer of wonderful works-a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews, and many of the Gentiles. He was Christ; and when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men amongst us, had condemned him to the cross, those that loved him at the first did not forsake him, for he appeared to them alive again the third day, as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him; and the tribe of Christians, so named from him, are not extinct at this day." These are but 2 of non-Christian sources, both historians, that all but proclaim the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Now consider, we have all kinds of technology to get information to us almost immediately, but that wasn't the case 2000 years ago. Practically all the news was lost. Only those things that were outstanding remain written down. Of most of those 120 who were filled with the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, it seems only John died of natural causes, but not before they tried to boil him in oil first and then sent him to Patmos. Now ask yourself. Wouldn't it be much easier to say, "Yeah I was just making things up, than to die at the hands of the Romans?"

    • @rockandsandapologetics7254
      @rockandsandapologetics7254 2 года назад

      @Richard Fox I'm short on time, but if Tacitus actually wrote about the incident in 64AD he would be a journalist, not a historian, albeit a very young journalist. We can conclude that later in Tacitus' life he looked back and investigated the incident and wrote it as a historian.

    • @rockandsandapologetics7254
      @rockandsandapologetics7254 2 года назад +1

      @Richard Fox We only seem to have greater access because ot the Internet. At the time, most news never made it across the town or city. Some say that 99% of Tacitus' works were lost because of this.
      You won't accept Tacitus because he was writing what "the Christians believed about Jesus." Yes, with an angry tongue. Now tell me why you won't consider Luke? Yes, Luke wrote 2 books in the New Testament, but he was NOT an apostle of Jesus or even Jewish. He was a Gentile who, it would seem, became a Christian under Paul's ministry. Luke was both a physician and a historian. The Gospel that carries his name begins by saying that he has investigated all these matters. The Acts of the Apostles, his 2nd book, is a history of how the church grew, from when Jesus was with them, to Peter's first sermon, the conversion of Sau[ of Tarsus and much more. If you want a non-Jews depiction of those times, read Luke. These people died for their belief. You don't die for a made up story.

    • @rockandsandapologetics7254
      @rockandsandapologetics7254 2 года назад

      @Richard Fox There are 4 Gospels and you are having trouble identifying their human authors. While Luke doesn't address himself by name in the Gospel that bears his name, we can see it is a letter he is writing to a person named Theophilus. He addresses this same person when he begins the book of Acts. Both times he sets himself outside those that knew Jesus personally, so everything he wrote down he has learned from those who have known him. I believe he's from Lystra, although I'm not sure about that, but was a Gentile who became a believer. Mark is usually assumed to be the earliest Gospel written, but who is Mark? Mark is better known as John Mark, a nephew of Barnabas. He was wealthy, young, and it is widely believed that he served under the Apostle Peter, and it was Peter's account of Jesus Mark wrote down. In Mark 14:51-52 it reads, "A young man followed Him, wearing a linen cloth around himself. And the young men laid hold of him, so he left the linen cloth, and fled from them unclothed." This is the only reference of a young man running away when Jesus was arrested. It is believed Mark was that man and added his part to the Gospel. Matthew, like Luke was educated, but not for an esteem position as Luke was. Matthew, also called Levi, was a tax collector, and as such had to know Aramaic, Greek, and Latin to make sure people made their payments. It's altogether possible he knew some Hebrew. He certainly knew the Law and the genealogy of Joseph. Matthew's Gospel may have been written in Aramaic first, but in order to spread it Gentiles translated it into Greek. This was not necessary with Mark or Luke. This brings us to John, whose style of writing differs from the other three. His Gospel comes later, but he focuses on Jesus' divinity rather than Jesus' humanity (both were needed for our salvation) This Gospel may also have originally have been written in Aramaic. John was a fisherman, not a NY Times best seller. Throughout this Gospel John refers to himself as the disciple that Jesus loved. Read John 21:20-25) and you will see that John is the author of this Gospel.

    Ok, so as a Christian who believes Jesus is God as the Second Member of the trinity and holds to orthodox theology, will you now care and have the conversation about how the verses in the New Testament which appear to condemn homosexuality have most likely been mistranslated, whether by accident or on purpose? I'm not even gay, but my commitment to understand the original message of Scripture has brought me to a position where I can't condemn those who are LGBT and at the same time are committed to following Christ and His ways. Note that I'm not talking about "Christians" who reject the deity of Christ and the authority of Scripture.
    This song really minimizes and throws under the bus a huge ton of LGBT Christians who both believe and follow biblical inerrancy and the deity of Christ. It's not Christlike, and it isn't loving. Like, if somebody gets mad because you think _x_ is a sin, but they don't even believe in the _existence_ of sin, then what the heck are they really complaining about? Or if somebody gets made because you think people who commit _x_ will go to Hell, but they don't even believe in the existence of Hell, once again what the heck are they really complaining about?
    (Presumably, what they're _really_ mad about is that they're afraid you believe people who commit _x_ should be _punished_ here on Earth by the Earthly authorities, but that doesn't necessarily follow and is usually a strawman argument.)

My cousin wanted to set me straight, that he was not one of the more liberal bishops, not affirming gay marriage or ordination. But when it came to Jesus, He was kind of a subject of ridicule, as if He was a silly figure, obviously nothing but the Noble Lie for Americans, and it was ridiculous to believe in Him. When other family members laughed along, I was broken-hearted. I wanted to talk about it, but when I tried, the whole family got very angry with me. I had just been told to consider myself a sister, but when I tried to discretely voice my concern, they dropped me like a hot potato. It seems one's Christianity always being about salvation and the Savior, as if He is real, and we need Him, is offensive.
    The wife (they live 220+ miles away) even brought Meals on Wheels to my building, with another sneering woman, to mock me and gnash their teeth upon me on the elevator ride down! This is the more liberal member of the family, who plays old hymns on the piano every week, yet hates anything more Christian than _The Secret Lives of Bees, Harry Potter,_ or _The Life of Pi._ Anyway, I've seen it for myself: "The Church of the Holy Gentrification" is all too real.
    As the bumper sticker says, sadly, "E_______ianism Saves!"._ If I could, I would ask them, Saves what or whom? Saves from what, for what? Saves face? What possible difference could it make? They could never imagine that you _care_ for them, and that the opportunity to use them for holiday food and presents and company, and a regular drive out into the country twice a year, was not worth keeping quiet about this most important issue in life. Caring about _their souls_ is _insulting_ and absurd. There is absolutely no way to make them get it. I could try not mentioning them in public to prove it, I guess, but this is the only way I can think of that they'd have to hear me out. I'll probably never talk to them in person, again.

      Paul literally made up a word to very specifically describe homosexuality in Greek. We know what it translates to, and it's homosexuality not pedophilia

    John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
    The Bible says that God created the Heavens and the earth. It also says that Jesus was the Word in the beginning, was with God and was God. It goes on to say that through Jesus all things were made. Jesus is the Creator of all things. Pretty clear. Jesus is Lord, the Creator of all things, the Great I Am, El Shaddai. Jesus is God.

    May I recommend something about homosexuality in the Bible? It’s called GeekyJustin’s great debate. It’s an article. The guy also has a YT channel. May I have y’all’s opinions on it?

      No matter how many articles they write on how it's OK to have homosexual sex and the bible is outdated and if Jesus was alive today he'd be cool with it......according to the bible homosexuality is a sin. That's the word of God.
