      +Crochet Lovers I made the blanket for my little granddaughter!!! She was born prematurely a week ago and is still in the hospital, but my daughter loved it. I had rows of pink, turquoise, mango, yellow, and lavender tulips with the green 'stems' on a background of white. I also used this stitch as the basis for a little beanie hat for her--which she will now have to grow into. Thank you for sharing this stitch tutorial!

    For those of you who want the written pattern but don't want to bother watching the video and writing it themselves...
    Chain a multiple of 3+2 with background colour.
    1st row: sc on 2nd ch from the hook. Continue with sc on every chain. ch1, turn.
    Rows 2 and 3 again sc, starting from the 1st stitch. after finishing the last sc,
    Attach the green colour for the leaves.
    Row 4: ch 5 (=dc+ch2), turn. dc on first stitch available (the last sc). Now you made a V shape. *Skip 2 st, on 3rd work (dc, ch2,dc) - V shape made*. Rep from * to * until the end of the row. The last V-shape should be on the last sc. of the previous row.
    Attach the colour you want for the flowers.
    Row 5: ch 3, turn. Flowers will be made into each V-shape. Flower: 5dctog, meaning 5 incomplete dc closed all together. The first ch3 we did for turning are NOT part of any flower. So, make *1 flower in next V-shape, ch 2*, continue till the end of the row. Finish with flower, without the ch.2
    Attach background colour.
    Row 6: ch 1, and work 1 sc on the elongated loop on top of each tulip and 2 sc in each ch-2 gap. Finish with 1 sc on top of the tulip. Ignore the 3 chains at the start of the previous row.
    Repeat rows 2-6
    (The sample for the video had 12 chains+2=14 ch and used cotton with a 4 mm hook)

      irmar ...hello. Thank you for taking the time to write it out. Im a neebie. So when patterns say..multiple 3 plus 2. If i want to make a large adult blanket would that be total dor example 62? Or does it mean 3 needs to divide into a number evenly? Thank u

    • @gimmedatstick
      @gimmedatstick 8 лет назад

      +Rebecca Oswald If you haven't already finished your blanket, here is what I used for my new granddaughter Payton's blanket. I crocheted around all 4 sides of the blanket evenly with single crochet to make a 'base' round. (I used 3sc in each corner to 'ease' the stitches.)Then I crocheted around all 4 sides using a shell stitch. The one I used is: sc, ch 2, 2dc all in same stitch of the base round. Then skip 2 stitches in your base round and repeat the shell stitch. Any shell stitch looks really cute, and can usually be 'fudged' a little to go around corners and to meet up evenly when you are finishing the shell round. p.s. These are American stitch terms.
