- Dura-Bar 65-45-12 is a continuous cast iron bar stock. It machines easily and provides excellent surface finishes. It also features good impact, tensile, and yield strengths, along with good fatigue resistance. This alloy sees use in Automotive, Fluid Power, Power Transmission, Pump/Compressor applications, and more.

CNC machines working are beautiful to watch
Ductile iron always a joy to machine, other than aluminum. Worked with ductile for about the last 14 years.
3:43 Holy runout Batman!
looks like someone bumped the tool someday
I noticed that too!
Cast iron machining demo. Interesting.
Pretty clean program except for dynamic core.
Enjoyable to watch when I get home from making the same shit at work all day.
Great job. Been doing it with Haas since 2002. Best decision we ever made. Send a link to the vise and part stopper if possible. I use Kurt vises. Want to compare.
It's a chick one-lok with a pallet
Can I buy one of these Haas/Dura-Bar machined bars?
I will keep dreaming of getting one of these machines. I will keep my snails pace on my EZ track clone Knee MIll.
Thepriest39 hey that EZTrack is awesome we have two of them at work
eNBee Its actually a CNC Masters Supra. Full 3 axis. Stepper motors does it has limited speed. Don’t get me wrong it is a good machine but I want to step up to the next level.
Jesus Christ, when the end mill retracted to finish the hole, it went straight in...I thought it was going to crash 😂😂
Do all the machines come with their own theme music when you buy them?
Yes, yes they do 😆
yes, a very sweet humming tune with some bass and the occasional banging of pans.
😂😂
Serious cutting power
It is possible to make some materials about diffrences between vm2ssyt and vm2? Greetings.
Hi, can Haas machines be programmed with Fusion?
Yes, the post processor support is fantastic.
whats wrong with mill for chamfering?)
3:42 think its Crooked
What's the roughing feed rate for the pocket, approx?
What mill was used for engraving?
Nicola, that is a 1/32” die sinking cutter. The tool shank is 1/8” (3.175 mm). There is a taper down to full radius of 1/32” (0.8 mm). It is programmed to go .0005” (0.0125 mm) deep.
@@johnnelson8612 Hi John, many thanks for detailed answer. We have 2019 VF2SS, very happy with it. But I never used it to engrave anything, I will try your recipe.
What's the brand of milling chuck used?
The tool holder for the end mills are Schunk TENDO hydraulic holders. Haas Automation
Pls explain macro programme and function [IF and #]
Beautiful
awesome now if I only had a machine to dedicate to cast iron!
Empresários precisa de máquinas mais e muito caro.
Não da para investir com o preço no Brasil.
Quem sabe um dia a HAAS venha para o brasil e vender maquinas...
просто офигенно!!!!!
1:50 it this dynamic mill ? mastecam ?right?
fusion360 has similar toolpath called adaptive
cam or control programmed ?
Don't be silly , cam of course
If I'm not mistaken the coolant isnt supposed to be green?
You can't really choose the colour lol. It mostly depends on what coolant type you're using. In this video the coolant is probably soluble oil which forms an emulsion with water. Some semi synthetic, neat oils and synthetic oils can come with a range of colours. I think Haas have done a video about this before.
You are right...It isn't normally that bright green. This video was shot on the production line at the Haas factory. We use a florescent dye in the coolant and check for leaks with a black light. This makes it very easy to see small leaks.
mine is blue but I think someone pee'ed in it, its got a green tint... hmm I work alone...
The cream colored coolant will change to that greenish color when you are cutting a lot of cast iron and I have seen it change to that color when you cut garolite and ren-board.
Climb cut at 50% WOC and 75% Feedrate on the backfeed of the dyanmic toolpath.
Ya ain't getting paid to cut air.
Just pocket corners, but times however many thousand parts.....
Is that Chuck, from Better Call Saul?
LOL
🤣
Daniel Machado - Brazil
I need to go get tested after seeing how dirty that coolant is
🤣
You should see, actually no, smell the coolant on the old Mini Mills at my college. Weird sea green color and smells horrible. Hasn't been changed for years.
Another post at Haas says they dye it that color with a fluorescent dye so they can check the machine for leaks with a black light.
ah so butiful.
Vídeos em Português por favor.

I feel like every time I watch these I always ask myself “why do they have the tool projected so far from the holder?” You don’t need that much clearance.
You and I cut for rigidity, theyre cutting for people to actually see stuff happening
i know i couldn't use that vise without inappropriate thoughts at work haha

3:43 :/
lmao didn't catch that
CHICK vises suck!
Stick with steel Kurt if you want to hold tight tol.
Why this guy is using a ring?? This is a safety rule.
cam software?
SuperAWaC - John used Mastercam to program the part. Haas Automation
