God of war 2018 was definitely ahead of its time in regards to graphics. I know Ragnarok looks better but the really impressive fact is how good 2018 was compared to other games at that time.
Hand combat downgrade is my only concern.. there's no stun and shield stun animation anymore in the new game :( ... feels more arcady whlie 2018 felt more realistic and i replayed that game so many times just for the satisfaction of combat system.
Idk why but (im playing both games on my pc, all ultra settings ) gow ragnarok looks worse to me. I feel like its blurry in comparison. Like just look at kratos head at 00:00 i feel like there's more details in 2018...
honstly there is no major differences between both of them , so why is gow ragnarok demading a lot more compared to gow 2018 , it's not fair for some people who tried gow 2018 in low end so they can't play gowr with thier end.
Mainly because of texture resolution playing at 4k wont look as bad because the textures are much higher res. God of war 2018 textures were designed for the PS4 which was a 1080p console. Look at the wood textures in Ragnarok and even the ground there is alot more detail on the ground in ragnarok than in 2018. Also look at the wrinkles at the back of kratos' head theres more detail. Tbh i don't like the small improvement but companies are gonna improve graphics for "next-gen" games and even now people are complaining how the ps5 doesn't look that much graphically impressive compared to the ps4, its just how it is due to diminishing returns. The part im not a fan of in Ragnarok is the combos on weapons they removed the cool trails the weapons left behind when u swing them. Google "diminishing returns graphics" games are gonna be like this going forward

Gow 2018 graphics was not ahead of its time, it looked really good but there were so much games that looked better, like rdr2 or horizon zero dawn
