I’ll never understand how people think glass packs sound better. The flowmasters sound so much better. Maybe that’s what I heard growing up and it’s just what I like
@@aidenog7380 The best sounding car that I ever heard was a 1969 Dodge Hemi Coronet with Continental Blue Swinger glasspacks. Those round shaped purple, silver and white Thrush glasspacks sounded good too. I don't understand why Thrush won't bring those back because the newer Thrush Magnum's really suck. They are too quiet sounding for a glasspack. Watch the movie Vanishing Point that came out in 1971. Turn up the volume when the Dodge Challenger is driving in the desert because it has some really good sound clips the early 70's style glasspacks. My favorite glasspack is the 8 inch long one made by Summit Racing. It's loud and it sounds almost as good as the old timey late 60's and early 70's glasspacks
@@lorenzocooper8286 man that challenger is my dream car I have a 87 square body think I’m gonna put some glass packs on it like you said has that old school sound I’m 17 I wish I lived in the muscle car era
@@aidenog7380 I will give you a few tips since you are young. I am not an expert but I am just telling you some things that I learned over the years. Maybe you already know these things. A short glasspack is louder than a long glasspack. Some of the most common sizes are 8, 12, 18 and 24 inches long. Jegs makes a 6 inch long glasspack but I don't know how they sound. Also the core size is important. Look at the inside of the opening of the glasspack; this is the core. If the opening is as large as the inlet and outlet then the glasspack will be louder. If the opening is small then it will have a more quiet sound. Also glasspacks will sound better if you have a long tailpipe. I like my Summit Racing mufflers but some other loud good sounding glasspack are the Dynomax Bullets, the purple hornies, and the Heartthrob flowpacks. I laugh when those Fllowmasters fan boys talk about how they don't like the glasspack sound. I am thinking they have never seen The Dukes of Hazzard and they never heard of the General Lee. This was my favorite tv show when I was a teenager and it was on from 1979 to 1985. The General Lee had glasspacks on it, and this was one of the most iconic cars of all time along with the Bandit Trans Am. How can think these two are not cool cars? If you had an aftermarket muffler in 1977 or 1980 then it was a glasspack. Steelpacks were around then but they were never as popular as glasspacks. Turbo mufflers came along in around 1982 or 1983. Turbo tubes and Flowmasters came out in the early 1990's.
@@lorenzocooper8286 yup my grandpa always tells me back in the day him and his friends would go to Mexico and get em welded on I don’t like another reason I don’t like flowmaster is cuz everyone has em on
Glass packs sound the cleanest
Both sound good, but I love the glasspacks.

Glasspacks sound the best 👌
wish i saw this before i got my flowmaster. the glasspacks sound great compared to the weird echoy flowmaster
Flowasters amd headers sounded good but a rev would be great lol, sounds awesome tho
Glasspacks 100% all the time everywhere
I currently have true duals, and 6 inch glass packs on my 79. I'm thinking of switching around though
I never liked the sound of flowmasters. They make a V8 sound hollow
Anything sounds better than a slowmaster, even a fart can.
Glasspacks
Stock cats? High flow? Or none? On the stock heads and manifolds setup..
No cats
Flowmasters sound hollow, like beating on top of a 55 gallon drum.
I swear I have seen this before, where you located in minnesoTa
Glass packs are so oldschool.. I think glass packs sound like shit to tell you the truth..🤷🏻♂️
The Flowmasters just have thay classic muscle sound to them.
Sounds like a tin can
