Just read "Almost Home" by Echols himself. It is what convinced me of his guilt. He wrote it at a time he did not expect to get out of prison so its very candid & telling.
I followed this deeply and you only get to hear one side from every documentary on it. If you start buying books that aren’t main stream publications you start to see a more in depth detailed picture. One that the main stream narrative over shadows.
And then you see he definitely did it.

He would have to be the biggest moron ever to be a free man and to still be begging them to test the evidence. It makes no logical sense.
@@larrygraham520 I did read the case files. There will be no DNA found on those laces that sat in mud for days, been sitting in a vault for 30 years, and have been handled by dozens of people.
He knows they won't test it because the court case is over.
Besides, he waited until just after his 10-year probation ran out. Convenient.
I got a DUI in 1990, when I was 19. I spent 63 days in two different county jails. I got moved from my original jail after two weeks and was sent to another county jail. My cell mate at the second jail was on trial for murder. Two other guys on the block were on trial in 16 other counties for cocaine trafficking. There was another guy in for assault with a deadly weapon, he was waiting for transfer to state prison. I was just a dumb kid who got caught driving drunk and these were my "friends" for 6 weeks! I've never driven drunk since.

I frequently drive under the influence. Just today. I was driving heavily under the influence. A new personal record of "being under the influence", even for me! I had to drive by 9 schools as well. Very squeeky bum time nervous!

Documentary totally left out that the kid who confessed was having crying fits for days directly after the murders and was not bullied into confessing but did so willingly multiple times. And that Damien was institutionalized multiple times prior for having psychotic episodes and for being homicidal. Obviously left out of the doc who spent their whole time trying to act like the satanic panic was fake and who demonized the victims father. He was also 100% murdering and torturing animals . This dude is guilty as fuck.
That’s literally why in the documentary the low IQ kids step mom looks pissed the whole time because she was the one who told police that he was having meltdowns after the murders she knew they were guilty goddamn this pisses me off lmao

I don't know how much of that is factual and how much has been embellished over the years but the fact is no matter what Damien was like as a teenager there's nothing connecting him to the crime scene and no circumstantial evidence indicating he was there. There's zero reason he and Jason would have been hanging out with Jesse across town from where they lived. They weren't friends. You have to write fiction to make them guilty in this situation. Common sense says it was probably the violent stepfather who was p*ssed he spent all evening after work looking for the kid who didn't come home when his mother warned him.

@@stubadub2k I've done a ton of research. I've watched every interview available, read every source I can find. I've tried to believe the guilty side. But you have no real evidence. Tell me a narrative of what actually happened that evening, what Damien, Jason, and Jessie were doing and how they came to hang out, walked 2 miles across town in broad daylight at 5pm on busy roads and neighborhoods without a single person in West Memphis saying "I saw three teenagers walking". According to Jessie's "confession" the crime happened in the morning, if the police hadn't corrected him. There is no narrative that makes any sense that has even been asserted, there is no evidence, all you can do is say Damien was a troubled kid. Okay, so what? Connect him to this crime. Please.
The movie that the guy hung himself was Shawshank Redemption. The Green Mile was where the guy had healing powers and they killed him anyway, but he made the head guard live to be 140+ years. Not to mention Mr. Jingles, the mouse.

No. An Alfred plea is where a defendant wants to maintain their innocence, but at the same time, acknowledges that the state has enough evidence against them that if they were to go to trial, they would most likely be convicted.
It doesn't have anything to do with wrongful conviction.

I can respect that you don't believe in the death Penalty, although I strongly disagree with you. 10 years ago, my 6 yr old granddaughter was r@ped and murdered, her body stuffed into a garbage bag. Her killer's DNA was found INSIDE her body. There was a LOT of evidence. Then he tried to set fire to her grieving parents' home while they slept. He shot and badly wounded a Cop when they went to arrest him a couple of weeks later. This man deserved the Death Penalty if anyone did.

Lie Detector tests are not accurate and not even used anymore because they're so unreliable.
He chose the name Damien after the patron saint of leporacy. He used to try to heal people with it, until he died of the disease himself. He was training to become a priest. The rest? He was a teenager. He didn’t drink blood lol. Thought he was mysterious and tough, but he was just a poor teenager in a world of religious fantasies.

For anyone interested, there’s was a phone call to police nobody ever brings up, but you can find it and listen yourself.
The caller says, “i’m the one that killed those kids, watcha gonna do?” It is 1000% Damien’s voice. I’ve watched all 4 documentaries, I’ve watched his youtube, I’m EXTREMELY familiar with his voice, it’s him. I used to believe he was innocent, for years, but delving into the evidence, the broken bottle of Evans, and Damien’s psych reports really leave no doubt that he’s guilty.
I implore anyone not convinced to listen to the phone call, it was the nail in the coffin for me, there’s no doubt it’s his voice.
Like I said, I too believed he was innocent, but there’s a TON of stuff you’re missing with the documentaries.

Jessie’s confession (that was supposedly coerced) contained a lot of info that the police did not know which later proved to be correct. Jessie’s confession IS legitimate. Plus he is dumb not disabled.
There’s much more evidence if you do a deep dive but that confession is the most important part.

I'm disappointed that Tim did no actual research on this case before having him on. And I am not talking about the 3 documentaries that pick and choose which information to provide, I am talking about delving into the actual casework that is public. The info that Miskelly got correct about the crime that was not public. Or the 500 page assessment that was compiled by the defense for an appeal, which shows Echol's multiple stays in mental institutions, crimes for which he is on probabtion (which include breaking and entering and sexual misconduct), other accused crimes such as chasing a child with an ax and attempting to burn down a house, personality tests and reports, I could keep going. His family had reported that they were scared of him, this was prior to the murders, and was in the info from the mental health facility documentation during the time they were trying to treat him leading up to the murders. This wasnt some goth kid that was picked on because of the clothes he wore, the police were aware of him and his troubled past and had eyewitnesses that put him in the area at the time of the murders. Instead of testing a hair on a shoelace, how about we test blood found on Echols clothing? I think that may be more accurate.
I read those transcripts. I think Miskelly was the only one who told the truth in that trial, at least before he was potentially coerced to stop. This dude did it, imo. Took 3 hollywood funded movies to paint a picture that conveniently left out so much important information and played on the viewers emotions. I ain't buyin it. This dude not only did it, but has been riding on his fame as a result for decades now.

If there was blood on Damiens clothes, as you suggest, why didn't police test it? Why is there zero forensic evidence linking him or the other boys? You also seem to gloss over the FACT that Jesse Miskelley was out of town at a wrestling meet the night of the murders. Multiple people testified to this at the original trial and there are pictures and his name in the sign in sheet. Basing your opinion on the origcase files alone shows you have a very limited scope of the case since the case made by the police at that time didn't even include interviews with the parents, statements made by witnesses, any conclusive forensic evidence or verified alibi of the kid they got a confession out of.

He was trying to play it like people were reading into his body language during the trial and he was just "an open book" this is so misleading and purely designed to manipulate people who haven't seen the footage. Damien Echols flipped the bird, blew kisses, and licked his lips at the victims families during the trial. *That's* why people thought his courtroom behavior made him seem arrogant and guilty as hell (which he is.)

Damien was convicted twice, by jury’s, that didn’t even have access to his previous psychiatric record, he also had multiple under age girlfriends at the time he committed the murders with his cronies, one of them Jessie Misskelley, the one who tested as being borderline slow after his lawyer specifically told him “hey if you score really low on this test”, they can’t give you the death penalty, admitted on multiple occasions to committing these murders with Damien Echols and Jason Baldwin to the interrogating officers after his lawyer begged him for over 20 minutes not to do so, he admitted it to the bus driver taking him to prison, and talked to his cellmate about so much that the cell mate requested to be removed from the cell because he was afraid of him, this dude is beyond a doubt a child murderer, you should really vet who you allow on your program Timmy 😂
I've heard so many mixed things about this case that I'm totally confused. There was a long time I didn't like Johnny Depp for years because of his avocation to letting these guys off. With how satanic Hollywood is, it's hard not to think that a celeb would advocate for a satanic individual. However, It's almost as if we're _supposed_ to believe that they're innocent.
And yet not a stitch of DNA evidence. No defensive wounds on any of them. No DNA under the kids’ fingernails? A single hair of Terry Hobbs survived the elements in that crime scene but you’re saying the DNA of 3 separate people is just magically gone? It disappeared?

@@whiskey11niner I’m not accusing Hobbs as much as I’m saying that it’s not impossible for DNA to remain at the crime scene. There’s no way what’s described by the state could have happened without the DNA of the WM3 being present at the scene. To your very point, the urine would have had epithelial cells belonging to any member of the WM3. I repeat: There was no WM3 DNA found on any of those boys and if they had killed those kids that is an absolute impossibility. I don’t care who said what to whom because that’s hearsay and not evidence. They’re currently trying to discredit Henry Lee for the very same practices that the State of Arkansas used in this case. So you either believe in evidence or you don’t. His past mental health records are not evidence. Strangers’ testimony is not evidence. Coerced confession is not evidence. There is no evidence tying these guys to this murder, without mentioning that you’re describing a level of sophistication that can’t be carried out by three teenage boys in 1993.

My husband got arrested for a dui years ago in California. He was the last car to hit in a freeway pile up. He was blamed for it because he was the last. That makes no sense! The original paperwork from the arresting officer said he was all sped up like he was on meth. When they searched his car, they found a large amount of weed. He was selling at the time. The cop then charged the paperwork to say he was talking slow and had bloodshot eyes. He was totally sober and just happened upon a multi-car pile up and got blamed for the whole thing! Cops should do their jobs and find the real perpetrators instead of just looking for a scape goat. It’s corrupt!

The lifting of the shoulders ? Damien could be a bit annoyed that Tim kept paraphrasing the idea of guilty going free to save one innocent. He raised his shoulders after the 3rd or 4th time Tim mentioned that reasoning, as if to say---> ( hey Tim what are you trying to say ). That can be interpreted defensive or justified annoyance. If a person is constantly hearing people think they did something they didn't, wouldn't they become angry if someone they think of as a friend or possible friend suddenly look at them or treat them like all the others who doubt their innocence ?

This is irrespective to whether they did it or not. I don't know if they did and I'm not speculating on their guilt or innocence. The thing you non-supporters can't seem to grasp is that the main issue here is not necessarily their guilt or innocence but the presence of more than enough REASONABLE DOUBT.
It seems me, that those in the "guilty" camp almost without fail, seem to be incapable of admitting or recognizing just how horribly the WMPD bungled this investigation. There's no two ways around it. Once again, this is a 100% FACT. Tasking a civilian (Vickie Hutcheson) with her own 8 year old child to do what basically amounted to undercover work? Sloppy unprofessional police work. Repeatedly interviewing that same 8 year old child despite the obvious and increasing ridiculousness of his statements? Sloppy unprofessional police work. Failure to thoroughly question and investigate ALL of the kid's parents? Sloppy unprofessional police work. Losing the blood sample from Mr. Bojangles? Sloppy unprofessional police work.
At the end of the day, when you can't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that someone did something, you don't just lock them up anyway to be safe and make everyone happy. That goes tenfold when you're giving someone the death penalty (which is why we need to get rid of it entirely). If our society is willing to accept the execution of an innocent person as mere collateral damage, than what does that truly say about the value society places on human life?

He was at a wrestling match out of town the night this took place and multiple other kids and coaches testified to this, as well as there being photos of him at the meet and his signature in the sign in ledger. That didn't stop the police from placing him at the crime scene at the exact time he would've been there and it didn't convince a jury.

It is insane to me that people will take the time to watch 4 whole movies but won't even read Exhibit 500 that completely puts to rest the myth that Damien was sought out for being weird. No, he was disturbed.
His own mother said she was terrified of what he would do to her and other kids in the home. He was institutionalized twice in the year before the murders for homicidal and suicidal ideation. He described himself as full of not anger, but rage and admitted he committed violent acts as a release. Including, but not limited to, trying to attack & gouge the eyes out of another kid, many fights, threats, setting fires in classrooms and when another patient slit their wrist, he grabbed their arm, drank their blood and rubbed over himself. He threatened to murder his parents. He threatened to murder his girlfriends parents. He said he believed human beings only exist to hurt each other and don't have feelings. Several people (who hung out with him) reported him harming animals. He even admits he "joked" about killing the boys in front of people who then reported it.
Add in the police got a tip from someone who knew Damien called in and said they saw him covered in mud near the scene of the murders after the time of the murders and that is why they looked into him. Any police force in the country would have suspected him with that information.
That is just the suspicion aspect. Whole books can be written about the unbelievable amount of circumstantial evidence including Jessie and Damien knowing details only the killers could know. Like Michael Moore being separated and less harmed. One being cut in the face and another in the genitals. Or Damien mentioning how he "heard" the killers urinated in the kids mouths and autopsy showed two of them had urine in their stomachs. But he "heard" it from a juvie probation officer even though it was one of the most guarded secrets that even helping investigators weren't informed of! But the police shared it with some random probation officer?! Oh, and they weren't even prosecuted in West Memphis. The prosecutor also makes sure to say in several ways that being goth isn't weird and Wicca is not evil. He literally refers to Damien's Wiccan beliefs as his "good" side in closing arguments. It is transcribed for anyone to read. All of this is easily found online as long as you're willing to do more than just watch videos.
They may have (mistakenly or not) thought there were ritualistic aspects to the case, but that wasn't the center of the case.
I'm not even going to say you should believe they are guilty. That is fine if you do not believe they are. Everyone can have their own thoughts, but don't rely on the Paradise Lost films as a good source. They aren't!

Jessie keeps confessing and by my count has nine confessions to law enforcement. Damien had multiple confessions in public. Jason Confessed to a cellmate who when he testified was out of jail and was offered nothing for his testimony. They have unlimited Hollywood money at their disposal and instead of bringing forth their explosive new DNA evidence they requested an Alford plea of guilty. They claimed they'd prove their innocence when they were released from jail, that was over a decade ago. Damien is on YT. Jason seems to travel around and go to bars in the name of the innocence project or whatever, and take pictures with inmates that have been released through no help from his organization. Jessie Misskelley moved right back to the rock he was under before 1993. As far as I can tell none of these individuals have anything to do with one another any more outside of the occasional photo op. I'm guessing with all the content he produces, his research into the case was minimal and was mislead to think they were released because there was some big finding that put their guilt in question or even proved their innocence. Instead, there was a massive media campaign supported by celebrities and the Innocence Project and they got out on a technicality, like many of those types do (Adnan Sayed is another example). The Innocence Project doesn't believe in death penalty period so they support people regardless of their guilt and look for legal tricks to get them off death row/LWOP and then these people are considered "proven innocent" in the minds of the public. It never occurred to me that Echols and company might be guilty until I read Echols’ own book about “his ordeal”. But that book is so obviously dishonest that by the time I reached the end I figured I’d try to see if I was the only person who thought Echols was, at the very least, a lying as$&*le . I was astounded to find that there was always a mountain of evidence against the WM3, and against Echols in particular, regardless of them (incomprehensibly) being offered the Alford plea escape. Tim should do another episode where he has Ed Opperman and William Ramsey talk about this case to balance things out. I like Tim a lot but in all honesty his being taken in by the propaganda around this case has hurt his cred in my eyes.

Except the problem with the theory that they are guilty is that its based off the idea that it was a satanic ritual. Which is just nonsense, and even of they did do it, there is not enough evedence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they are guilty, let alone to be executed.

The West Memphis Three are guilty. An Alford plea is a guilty plea.
The state isn't pursuing this because these guys took an Alford plea. As far as the state is concerned they are guilty, they admitted to their guilt, and they served their time. They were not released because they were exonerated.
Alford plea = accepting they were convicted fairly (enough evidence against them), but retain their innocent plea

I remember hearing about those murders as a little kid, but had completely forgotten about it. So glad to hear he's alive and well, and that he's still fighting to find the actual perpetrator(s)

the confessions of a mentally challenged sixteen year old boy that they forced into him after questioning him for 14 hours with no lawyer, no parents and all he wanted to do was go home. they also showed him pictures of the deceased boys that traumatized him. jessie, with his iq, would have admitted to anything after that.
Tim admits he is not very knowledgeable about the case from the get but than talks about the facts of the case like its non disbuted. I hate when so called interviewers do this. He has a chance to do some real digging...flopped.
I followed this case for a long time. I started out thinking they were 100% innocent. Then I found out how many facts were lied about to portray them as innocent that made me change my mind. Now I am on the fence.
Jessie initially confessed within a very short amount of time. They drove him back and forth to get his dad to sign off on them giving him a polygraph. He then took the polygraph and confessed pretty quickly after that. Then he sat around for hours while they were working on the arrest orders for Damien and Jason and they came back for a clarification statement. The lawyers use this last statement as a basis for the “he was tortured for 8 hours before confessing” lie. The documentaries and the Defense Team also downplay/ignore the fact they he confessed multiple times before and after his conviction.
As far as the DNA the kids were submerged naked in water for hours so there wasn’t DNA that could definitively be linked to the murderous act. There was a hair that was found in the shoelaces used to bind the boys of one of the stepfathers. But it could have been innocent secondary transfer. It doesn’t actually prove the WM3 are innocent. It just proves that of the limited DNA that was recovered it doesn’t match them.
The WM3 may be 100% innocent but when they keep wheeling out fabrications like this it makes a lot of people doubt their integrity.

To answer part of your question, the mentally challenged kid who claimed he was with Jason and Damien during the "killings" was actually at a pro wrestling event with numerous people who verified he was at the event at the time that he "confessed" to being at the scene of the crime. There were even pictures of him at the event taking photos with some of the wrestlers
