In a interview he mentioned this..
“The Korn logo came about when we were trying to come up with a band name,” Davis explained. “Our manager at the time, Larry, we told him we were gonna call it Korn and he’s like, ‘You can’t name your band Korn.’ So we told him, ‘Well, we’re gonna name it Larry then.’ And he’s like, ‘Fuck you.’ I’m like, ‘It’s gonna be either Larry or Korn, you fuckin’ pick.'”
“I fucking chuckle to this day that my band’s name is Korn. It’s fucking funny!” he continued. “We twisted it, spelled it different with the backward R, and made it kinda spooky, and it worked.”
Yep. It was JD who thought of turning the R backwards.
Both wrong. Watch JD's interview with Steve-O. He heard a story with some friends about 2 dudes belching each other out, and one of them got corn kernals on their mouth. From then, one of them would just have to mention the word corn and all of them would laugh hysterically.
Years later JD suggested it to the band (then known as Love And Peace Dude or L.A.P.D) and they loved it. Fieldy suggested the K and backwards R. The Larry story then followed.

I was addicted to that song on MTV back in the day, I would always watch MTV music videos before going to school and that video always stood out above the rest for me.

Korn stole the damn show at Download Festival this year! This song is 🔥

They steal the show every time they come to town. I just saw them last month with Helmet and Evanescence and KoRn proved exactly why they were the headliners that night! The lights went out at the amphitheater directly before the intro started and I don't think I've ever seen a crowd that hyped before in my life, and I have seen Sabbath and Pantera live too among many other bands!
If you guys haven’t seen it, you should look for the South Park episode called Korn’s Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery. The guys from Korn are in it, and it’s like an episode of Scooby Doo. It is hilarious.

Have seen Korn live 5 times now and they never disappoint! Was fortunate enough to see them on the 20th anniversary tour and they played they're entire first album all the way through, including Daddy.

I remember when this video came out. I was watching it with two friends at one of their houses. In the middle of this video my friends little brother came in and asked what we were listening to.
My friend told her brother "Korn dummy"
The little dude looked at her and with a blank face and said "Korn? I SHIT KORN" and ran off.
I didn't stop laughing for a few minutes. Still makes me laugh.

Definitely react next to Twisted Transistor, I won’t spoil it but you’ll enjoy the music video enough said! Both off this album, certainly a more groovy alternative album than their “normal sound” but always give credit to KoRn for constantly changing up their sound enough to feel fresh sounding. KoRn is THE nu metal band that started it all. Even Staind started out as a KoRn cover band. You must be new to nu metal though because Seether and Three Days Grace surely aren't nu metal! 🤣Do genres really matter though? it's all about the music and what you enjoy as a fan!

I am a KORN stan, all day er'day! Their new album is bomb too. They still got it. I'd rank them #1 in Nu Metal. Honestly, in the 90's Korn was IT. Nobody was really talking about Slipknot or Deftones. I didn't even know them back then because Korn dominated.
Lastly, I have to say this because I must...TEAMDAVID. Always 😁
Korn are known as the pioneers of the nu metal movement, not to mention they are the best nu metal band of all time...I've been wearing KoRn tees since like 1996 and I still do to this day because I'm a true fan! I think Korn is more than a band though I think they are their own genre!

I remember Korn came out when I was in a senior in high school. I was always wearing Korn shirts to scool back then. The teachers hated it. That was when I was in my Gothic phase.

Did you know Giovanni Bucci directed love and meth and never never? Both of those won awards. Where will you be placing the youtube plaque on the wall? Korn was not the founder of nu metal but was the band that made nu metal a genre to recognize.
The history of the name Korn comes from an inside joke between Jonathan Davis and and I think some of the guys from his previous band sex art but I could be wrong about that part but I guess it's about John and some other people were hanging out with some chicks and a girl either sharted or did something but she shit and there was a piece of corn in it and that is the history of how the band got its name

If you ask me, Limp Bizkit was by far the biggest Nü Metal ever and the last great mainstream successful Metal band. They overcame Korn to become the biggest Nü Metal band in the late 90s and continued to grow to became the biggest band in the world in the early 00s, even bigger than Metallica, Linkin Park and Slipknot. Fred Durst was a legit Pop Star, always on TRL with Christina Aguilera, NSYNC, Britney and Eminem. Limp Bizkit was selling way more than all of the other bands combined, they earned a ton of awards during that era and they had an enormous fan base all around the world. Their 3rd album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, selling over 1.05 million copies in its first week of being released (400,000 of those copies in the first day only) and they still hold the record of largest first-week sales debut for a rock album in the US. Eventually with time Linkin Park became bigger than them and Korn and Slipknot are still relevant today. But during that whole Nü Metal Mainstream Era they were the biggest band by far 🔥

KoRn was pretty much the my absolute in hs…they had an album come my junior year “03” and I the song “Counting on Me”. I think after them Seether, Godsmack, Disturbed, Slipknot/Stone Sour (depending how much I wasn’t feeling people in gen) Saliva (yes I was that girl lol) and one haven’t seen anywhere Dropbox! There might be some others that’ll catch some hate, I’ll just keep those to myself😅!!!
