OMG! This what I was listening to as a little kid! We lived in the northern suburbs of NYC. My folks gave me a GE AM clock radio to wake myself up to get to school and that’s how I got hooked on two things: Rock n’ roll and radio (as a hobby). I’m in my sixties now and both are still my life blood! Thanks for the memories! The only thing missing is Herb Oscar Anderson singing 🎶Hello again, here’s my best to you. Are your skies all grey? I hope they’re blue!🎶
check out "Super Radio USA". It is a free app that you can get at google play or the app store if you use I- phone. There are 7 radio stations on the app. Solid Gold USA is created to mimic the sounds of WABC.
I'm surprised that the World's Fair wasn't mentioned. Didn't everything seem normal and decent back then? More cheerful too. These were the salad days for many in America. Another 3 years more and the decline would start.
Interesting because I taped the songs off of WABC in just these years...so I'd hit off when the chatter started. Now, I'm sorry I didn't just let it record but at that age all I wanted was the music.

Can't be WABC without a Palisades Park ad.
Big Dan and Bobaloo were my fav dj's growing up in Brooklyn during the 60's. And those jingles get stuck in my head every time.
Palisades Amusement Park jingle!!! Oh , the memories!!! Palisades Park, WABC Radio 77 and Dan Ingram epitomizes New York City. Miss those days.
I still have the 9 volt pocket radio I used to listened to this. Chime Time!
That was my favorite radio station and music
WABC was a giant Top 30 station in America in it's hey day.
Riding the roller coaster at Palisades Park while being slightly inebriated was quite the experience.
Good ole days as a teenager in the Bronx! Great times! Great music! Great DJs!

A place that I never got to go to.
the greatest hip ever.

I Think WABC-AM Should Have Stayed a Top-40 Rock And Roll Radio Station Until May-1990 And Maybe Have It Simulcast On 95.5-FM.
