Darla Hood
Просмотров 6 тыс.2 года назад
Darla Hood from the Little Rascals as an adult on the Jack Benny program from Oct 30, 1962. I met and photographed George ‘Spanky’ McFarland when he was touring colleges in the ‘70s. Darla was also making the rounds and I would have loved to have met her. Sadly, she passed away at 47 in 1979.

1980 Mark Hamill Interview
Просмотров 6593 года назад
In 1980 when The Empire Strikes Back was in theaters Mark Hamill was interviewed by Bob Slade for his Sunday night celebrity interview program. In this part of the interview he talks about the three Star Wars trilogies. I worked for WOR Radio & TV and Bob was the News Director of our FM station (WXLO which became WRKS). Luckily, he had me photograph the people he interviewed and so we were in M...
Caroline - First Time
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.3 года назад
Beatle fans should check out the enjoyment this Australian songwriter/singer Caroline is experiencing as she hears Beatles songs for the first time ever. If you go to her 'Call Me Caroline' RUclips channel you'll see her full reaction to Rubber Soul and all the other albums and singles as she goes through their catalogue chronologically. It's so enjoyable that I put this video together as a lit...

Paul McCartney at MetLife Stadium 8/7/16
Просмотров 3997 лет назад
I took this video of Paul McCartney from the 8th row at his MetLife Stadium concert, August 8, 2016. I think the picture and sound came out pretty good considering I was using a tiny Sony Cybershot camera. This is an edit of some of the Lennon-McCartney songs he did. By the way, the camera can fit in your pocket, only 1 ½ inch thick , 2 inches high, 4 inches across, but with a 30x zoom -model D...
Bill Webb

We lost Bill Webb yesterday, an old friend who just happened to be the greatest baseball TV director of all time. This is a video I took of him directing the end of a Met game and beginning of Kiner’s Korner in the ‘80s, preceded by Ron Darling and Keith Hernandez talking about what he meant to them. Bill always called me ‘Paulie’ and I would talk to him in the control room at Shea before games...
Beatles - The Beat Goes On

I edited this video together of young people performing Beatles songs in their living rooms/bedrooms/kitchens, etc. to show how the music has endured through the generations. All these kids are great and it's worth watching all the way through.
Alison Steele, The Nightbird
Просмотров 91 тыс.11 лет назад
I recorded this off the radio in the '70s when I was testing a new tape deck I had just bought. I noticed there wasn't much audio on Alison out there so I posted this, edited down so you just get the beginning and ending of the songs. Hope you enjoy it...
He is Hysterical!!! Comedians say WHAT is happening in the world with truth and laughter 🤣WE need comedy in our lives!!! Sebastian is one of the greatest!!! There are many others BUT....he is 👍👍👍👍
listening to this on the airpods is something different. you can hear the individual laughs. lol
At first I didn't like him. Now I frigging love him ❤frigging funny as hell❤ I love him so much ❤ peeing my pants 😂
WOW ❤ ❤ ❤
Kenny is a true one of a kind artist! I’ve loved his music since the early 70’s..seen him twice!
I’ve been a fan since the early 70’s…seen him twice….a beautiful guy.
One of the many teenagers that listened to her in NY on FM radio late at night. Although she's gone, The Nightbird still flies.
alison steele was basically a predecessor of delilah on the radio!😍😍😍😍😍
Alison was remarkable. Will never forget the Nightbird, one of the most beautiful, smoothest, silky and absolutely sexiest voices I have ever heard.
Kevin Kline for the biopic.
2024 still listening to the one and only Kenny Rankin. Very nnice.
Thanks for posting this incredible glimpse at her as an adult.
I only lived in range of WNEW-FM for four years, from 1969 through 1973. Alison Steele got me through a lot of nights that would have been very lonely without her. She had a special gift for weaving songs into a tapestry that was greater than the sum of its parts, tied together by her voice and occasional poetry.
Super funny, very relatable❤
WONDERFUL!!!! I wish I could have seen this amazing singer. Thankful for his recorded legacy...
She would sometimes play a whole side of a record, late at night, and I'd stay awake listening.
rip my dear Kenny gone too soon... his voice an instrument
The original ASMR alison steele ❤
I just used spectral analysis on her voice and compared it to the 'unknown singer' who performed "Let's go Sunning" and got a MATCH! :O
After WNEW FM alision steel went to WNEW am then to k rock until she passed away😢
I can’t stop laughing!!😂😂😂
I have a movie with her in it, The Bat, but I had no idea she was such a great songstress. Thanks for the fun clip. What a talent, loved her in Our Gang. Loved em all!!
July, 2024 - I miss listening to you. Rest in Peace Alison
She was the cutest little girl and so talented. She grew up to be so beautiful. She died way too young 😢
What an excellent singer and performer! And she really seems to have had survived the hazards of childhood stardom.
Wow!!
Adrienne took inspiration from her radio voice for the character Stevie playing a DJ in the movie The Fog.
Love love love love love his voice his phrasing. He's like sitting in your living room with wine cheese apples and a dubie... Beautiful❤
Kojak, season 5, ep 2 “A Strange Kind Of Love” brought me here. The DJ in that ep was based on Steele. What a great voice, vibe and superbly classy choice of music she had…
Went to see him in nyc in 1972 been a fan ever since.
Kenny Rankin performed When Sunny gets Blue at a Memorial for Jack Segal the lyricist of When Sunny Gets Blue shortly after Jack passed away in 2005 ; Kenny passed away 5 years later ; Kenny was a remarkable talent ; Paul McCartney contacted Kenny and expressed how much he enjoyed Kenny’s rendition of Black Bird the Beatles song ; RIP Kenny Rankin
Love her.
Beautiful voice❤❤❤ Left too soon😢😢😢
Thank you.
What year was this from? Such a sweet, unique voice.
Perfect voice for her time slot. She was a little before my time, which is unfortunate. Would have loved to have listened to her show. Also, if you're familiar with asmr, this lady, with her soothing voice, would have been a natural.
So pretty in that pure natural kind of way, like Rachel McAdams.
That was my favorite radio station and music
I just realized yesterday that she passed away or I had forgotten. It seems like just yesterday that I was listening to her at night. She really made a significant positive impact on me when I listened as a kid in the ‘80s and through I guess the early ‘90s. I really miss her presence.
I met Alison once when I was interning at K-Rock in 1990. She was truly a presence and a lovely woman. My thought , at the time, was she was a very attractive woman for her age. She was 53 at the time. I'm now older than she ever was. Perspective is everything. Incidentally, it was through Alison that I got to meet one of my female rock icons, Renaissance's Annie Haslam.
I loved both Alison AND Annie!
I've been in the passenger's seat and leaned over to blow the horn to make people move. I have got to get the hell out of the city. 😂😂😂
OMG! This is so true! 🤪
OMG! This is so true! 🤪
Met him in1968 hired him to play in south Hampton Long Island he got pissed sound wasn’t right and got up and left lol true story
I was so fortunate to be able to see him live several times. I first heard of him from a radio interview on a local Los Angeles radio station conducted by B. Mitchell Reed. Thank you for posting this! I miss him a lot!😪
I’ve seen him many times in the past…. No voice can ever compete with his style of music….truly amazing and missed
Loved her voice and program...she left us too soon ! Born and raised on Long Island too..we had the best radio stations and The Night Bird was one of my favorites.
He's so right
Wow Thank You
You could tell as a little girl that she was going to grow up and be a very attractive woman!
