Good demo of the flood gravel taking a shortcut, Andy's "Gutter Trash" sluice so nifty, and shortened run of cons, that's good prospecting. The circus of bags and gear for going feral, versus a backpack for a duck-off for an hour or three. Onya Frenchy. G.

Good video. My grandfather in 1968, walked out from his Spotswood home to Stony Creek. He panned up some gold specks in the creek. He surmised that the Westgate Bridge construction work in the area would hit the same quartz bed, which runs from the Ballarat area. He didn't pan a lot, but it was enough to confirm his theory. Grandad also built a few metal detectors, but had little success with them. He had the gold bug.

Anderson’s, Jumping and stony are all allowed in Warrandyte not just Anderson’s. There’s also plenty that don’t run into the Yarra and run into Watsons for example that are under bush land reserves which don’t say you can’t fossick. If you’ve actually been to areas around Panton hill you’ll find the rangers don’t care and the locals don’t care if you’re not making a mess.

I know the are very well. There used to be an old timer back in the 70's who had a gold mine at the top of lorimer rd. Just near where the transmission lines are now. We used to go in his hut where he had sweaty gellicnite in boxs. The top of that hill was sandy. Further towards Diamond Creek, on the top of Reynolds rd there used to a place called the sand pits where we would ride mx bikes. The old KG tip was perhaps an old mine site. It was very sandy and a lot of quartz. Must have been a an old river delta eons ago which only the remnants remain on the hill tops. The creeks which flow into the Diamond creek from there would definately have gold.
